This was a VERY entertaining read! It wasn't your typical urban, shoot em up, D Boy kind of tale. The sub plots were as interesting as the the main plot and there were several WHAT DA HELL moments throughout this book. Raymond Francis is a gifted story teller who seems to have a knack for pulling you in head first and never letting you go until the very last page! This was my first time reading his work but it will NOT be my last because I am definitely a new fan! I am looking forward to the sequel to see what Ms. Maya has up her sleeve because SK was left in a very uncomfortable position! I am not even going to ask IF there will be a follow up book, because I KNOW THERE WILL BE...lol!!! GREAT JOB Mr. Francis...4.5 Stars for sure!

Truth Hurts, Lies Kill by Raymond Francis is a 5 stars must read.
David Weaver presents Raymond Francis, both together...you know it's going to be an excellent book.

A short story , not too short and not too long. The story is about a young kid who had it going good in high school in basketball but was tired of being poor, his decision will be one that will change his life forever.

From the first page this book will capture your attention to the end. The twists and turns are very good. The characters and the story line is excellent.

I hightly recommend to book to all readers.

This book is all that.

This book is really good. I couldn't put it down and now I'm finish with pt1. Book 1 was written so well that I felt like I was standing right in the house with them. But the kicker was SK killing Toni's brother, I forgot his name but that really blew my mind. I was like what! I definitely wasn't expecting that it really caught me off guard to say the least. You are a (Beast wit a Pen). I'm going to check out some more of your books after reading pt2

This was my first read by this author, so I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised and completely drawn in to the story. I really liked how the story was set in the mid 90's, because all of the references to that era gave me nostalgia. I'll be reading parts 2 & 3 to see how everything unfolds.

This story is filled with lies and deceit, running from a past and trying to find a new life with people who won’t question anything that is done. It wasn’t my type of book.

Not Redeeming

Not much redeeming qualities in the story, characters, or culture. Permanently deleting it now. Bleak and unrelatable. Immoral and casual about it.

“Truth Hurts, Lies Kill” by Raymond Francis tells the story of S.K, a young man who, after making the wrong choice, finds himself on the run. Settling down in a new city, SK finally believes he has found the life he needed. With a new girlfriend and friends beside him, SK is enjoying life. But everything is not what it seems and SK soon finds himself in dangerous territory.
“Truth Hurts, Lies Kill” is my second read from Author Raymond Francis. I absolutely loved the twists and turns this book held. There were a few slow moments but overall it was a good book. The ending left me shocked. I am looking forward to reading the sequel.

Raymond Francis took me on a trip with his words. This story was much anticipated, especially if you have read any of his previous releases. It was well worth the wait. SK's story hits close to home, with his tale of wanting more, wanting to be the guy that girls want, and what happens when he goes for it all. While this could be a stand-alone book, I am hoping for more tales of SK and the other characters. Mr. Francis has a way of making you love or hate his characters, but you are able to relate to them all the same. Pick this book up for a great read and a great discussion with others who have read it.

Loved this read and can't wait for part 2. Not sure if Tommy got what he deserved but I guess it's all apart of the game. TONI did some Grimy stuff but I guess it was all for love, will angel come to claim what he feels is rightfully his? Maybe or maybe not but we know for a fact that Mia and SK has unfinished business.

Not realistic

the storyline was good but with me and the way my brain work, this wasn't realistic. don't get me wrong the writer is amazing but I just can't see SK living on the run in plain view and nothing from his past show up or bite him. not a word on the news, his mom not searching for him, nothing??? ummm yeah it's not believable.

I was prepared to read this and go on about my business. This book pulls you in and it was like watching a movie. Backstabbing and double crossing run rampant in this book. This author told a great story and can't wait to read more from him.
