The stars glow with their own special magick in the night time sky. For millions of years, the stars sent their light down to the earth. The same stars and planets we see today are the same bodies of light that ancient shamans saw around their camp fires. Countless generations looked into the night sky and wondered about the magick above. It was the shamans who traveled in spirit to the Upperworlds to discover the secrets of the Universe. There are many ancient beings in the above worlds that can help us learn about the energies of the Universe and transform our lives for healing, power, and spiritual evolution
I have been studying paganism and magick since 1992. I am an ordained minister with The Fellowship of the Phoenix and am also a Native American Pipe carrier. I specialize in Pagan Religious Studies, Magick, Shamanism, Energy Healing, and Native American Spirituality. One of my primary goals is to bring back the practice of ancestor honoring back into our daily lives. I have taught many workshops at events such as the Pagan Spirit Gathering and Between the Worlds.
My goal is to bring magical and energetic teachings to be accessible yet challenging to the magical student.
Upperworld: Shamanism and Magick of the Celestial Realms is the third book in a shamanic trilogy which includes Underworld: Shamanism, Myth and Magick, and Deeper into the Underworld: Death, Ancestors and Magical Rites. All three books are excellent and I highly recommend them to any witch or magician who has shamanic, spirit-based, or sorcerous leanings. However, Upperworld is definitely my favorite of the three!
Chirs Allaun is an excellent author. He is well researched, well spoken, insightful, and overall, a delight to read. He's ordained in the Fellowship of the Phoenix, a Chicago based neo-pagan order for LGBT folks, as well as an inititate of Traditional Witchcraft. With so many years of experience in witchcraft, paganism, and shamanic practices, he is definitely a great resource of knowledge.
Now, onto the book itself. I love this one so much, because it covers all of my favorite topics when it comes to magick and witchcraft. A few of these topics include:
• astrology and the astrological magick of the stars and planets.
• mythological information on the creation myths and heavenly realms of various pagan cultures, such as the Greek, Roman, Egyptian, and Norse.
• developing devotional relationships with various gods and goddesses.
• ritual magick and meditation work with archangels, and the angelic watchers (the so called "fallen" angels that fathered the Nephilim and, according to legend, first taught humanity the arts of magick).
• astral projection, trance work, journeying, and other spirit work.
The book is filled with practical application and no fluff, which is something I look for in magical and occult books. (I'm not an armchair occultist, nor do I wish to read autobiographies. I like books that give me something that I can actually use in the magick circle, and this book does just that.) It's very user-friendly, and also great for solitary practioners.
Another thing I love about this book is that it deals with celestial topics, like angels, without any of the new age fluffiness that runs rampant in lightworker communities. Here, angelic entities are explored from the shamanic and Witchcraft perspectives, and that's very refreshing to me.
So definitely a five star book in my opinion. He's got another one coming out, I believe this December, called Otherworld: Esctatic Witchcraft for the Spirits of the Land. I eagerly await it's release!
