Today I finished reading The Belated Bachelor Party and I really found it gripping and an exciting read. The title got me intrigued to know more about this BELATED bachelor party ( which is something we all have never heard before, right? ) The Belated Bachelor Party follows the group of 4 crazy (punjabi desi ) friends Ravin, Harprit, Amardeep and Manpreet who plan their Euro Trip for their belated bachelor party. They convince each other to go on this trip together and also convince their life partners to allow them to go on this trip. Ravin being the most responsible guy in their group takes care of all the planning involved for this trip and also manages flight and hotel bookings. Finally these 4 friends living in different countries made it to for this special trip of their lives together and travel Europe and then the real fun begins .. Not just one but the book contains many funny stories detailing the connections these 4 characters share with each other. These unstoppable four creates chaos and adventure wherever they go. Things get hilarious and weird and sometimes out of the hand but they stand by each other ( or I would say stand by each other’s stupidity). Afterall friendship has a way of surviving through anything. This book not only explores friendship but also cover the way the special friends in our lives change us and shape who we are.

What I loved the most in this book?

I loved how these friends have some real conversation and discuss every important aspect of their life ( specially the conversation about their parents) while enjoying their trip.

It’s a story of four friends who plans a reunion.
Well, the plot of the story is simple and predictive. There are a few twists that the author added to make it adventurous. The narration of the story is crisp but at some point, it starts making the reader tedious.
It’s a combination of humour and friendship.
The writing style of the author is crisp and relatable. This story will make you nostalgic about all the good times with your friends.
The pace of the story is a bit slow. It’s a good book but could have been much better.
Overall it’s a complete Bollywood story.

This book is bit slow for me. As per reviews my expectations was high but after reading this I'm lil. Disappointed. Behind the Sence part was quite enjoyable. And some parts of book makes a smooth laughter.

This book is a not page turner.

Pretty poor book without any story as such. Of course, the author must have been to Prague before but his fiction story lacks "story". Nothing exciting about it. The author tried to make it a thriller but there is no thrill nor comedy.

Average book, the plot is very good but execution is disappointing.

The twist and Problem situation comes after a lot of context setting but the characters comes out of the problem in 2-3 lines story only.

Read something so hilarious after such a long time. Way too witty and filled with sarcasm, this book is surely going to be one of your favorite books!

The premise I got from reading the blurb was that there was an unexpected 'incident' during the bachelor party trip of four best friends to Europe. But the story does have some build up to 'the moment'. I liked all four characters, though Ravin definitely has a little more(!) maturing to do. I was blown away by how they got together and how they became the ultimate family.

A Well-written book, with very realistic depictions of the characters' feelings. The story was progressive and made me want to continue on until I finished it. The situations created by a little misforturne and by more of their mistakes make thie book worth even more of your time. The characters were written real enough that you develop a soft spot for them.

I really loved this book. I found myself laughing so hard I had tears running down my face at certain scenes. Ravin is a great character to follow and I'm glad I got to be in his head for the duration of the book. The smart and snarky remarks the four of them make, the nicknames they give to eachother, and their interactions with the people around them really make this one a gem.

I was glad that the book got a little bit more serious at the some places and addressed some of the more pressing issues.
This was a hot read and enjoyed the belated bachelor party concept! Highly recommend it if you want a story that will make you smile and feel so good at the ending!!!

For those who think Ravinder Singh is “just another Indian romance fiction writer”, this book proves that he has much, much more to offer. He has somehow made four not-very-attractive men who are aged in their forties amazing protagonists, their story appealing, even to a teenage mind.
The story is that of a reunion of four college friends; Ravin, Harprit, Amardeep and Manpreet. They are all now married, living in different timezones and haven’t met in the last 5 years. They get to talking about their reunion trip and realise that even though they are all now married, they never threw each other a bachelor party, therefore the name. The four friends take a bachelor trip to Europe and what follows is a series of adventures (and misadventures).
The book has an amazing writing style, carefree yet mature in ways, with a hint of childishness since they are college friends after all. It is jam-packed with fun stories that’ll make you laugh and miss your school and college friends. There is a desi touch of Punjabi to the book and it just enhances the feels.
However, I did expect a little more to come. It would’ve been better if certain stories were more elaborated and more suspense was created over conflicts. Since there were parts where they reminisced over college, I hoped for some flashback chapters too.
Nevertheless, it was a refreshing read. Very much recommended.

Honesty, the only thing I liked about the book is the cover design & the title chosen here. Cover has been designed really well, considering the fact that this is a funny book to read. Title is intriguing, catchy & apt - one of the very reason I decided to pick this book. Because it caught my attention. However, I must say I was very much disappointed with the writing style, narration, story & the entire plot extrapolated here.

Only at the beginning of the book, 'prologue' which drove me to read the complete book. To my dismay, it was slight interesting only in the initial few chapters. However, later I felt the story was way too dragged, monotonous, & just stretched unnecessarily beyond the requisite amount just to make the book big enough to make the readers uncomfortable. The additional 150 pages weren't necessary at all. If this book was a short read, then it would have been feasible. However, what makes it worse is the huge length accompanied by the sheer exhaustion in completing it, made me too tiresome & bored beyond recognition!

The sense of humour incorporated throughout the book totally failed. It's like the author forced his book to be funny via many plausible attempts which can be seen evidently thoroughly throughout - but he failed miserably. Not only did it turned me off, but also made me feel very uncomfortable & cringy. And not to forget the amount of slangs, abuses, abusive context, sexual references & profanity used here. So I maynot suggest this for younger generation.

There're only few aspects I liked about the book, which I'm sharing below :

'Why do Indian men ogle more than those from the developed world?'
'Sometimes we stare at them making them uncomfortable. Sometimes unknowningly, where women may perceive men's gaze as lustful even if it was appreciative in nature. Because we're a sexually repressive society. You see, when you're starving, you turn into an animal. When you're satisfied, you're human. Lack of sex education also adds to the cause. The combination of these two leads to curiosity. The lack of these two increases the sexual tension to disproportionate levels & without any proper guidance to understand & channilize this energy, it leads to animal-like instincts.'

'Why only Indian men then? If it's about belonging to a sexually repressive society, why don't Indian women display the same behaviour? I mean, why only one gender?'
'Because back home, we're also a patriarchal society. Women have been controlled & told that they can't cross so many lines, lines that men are allowed to. In addition, I think that our skewed gender ratio too has a role to play. The imbalance drives this animal-like instinct. Top it with the historical trend of objectification of women in bollywood.

Even women check out men if they're hot, but they don't make it too obvious. Because women have rightfully equal rights, they too want to stare at men. Women love the idea of being looked at. They find that there's a possibility that staring at them is a proof that they're attractive. They too enjoy being stated at, but that depends on the kind of guy who's checking her out. That will determine whether she enjoys the attention or not. Men should observe the woman's body language. She'll drop hints. If she doesn't like it, she'll convey it without even speaking. A woman gets to advocate, decide, determine & demand if she wants to be stared or not. Because the woman is the one who's being looked at. She isn't an object but a living being. You aren't supposed to keep staring at her unless she welcomes your gaze. Men should pick those hints given by women. In fact, if the man is smart enough, this staring thing can be used as a powerful tactic to woo women, if it's used judiciously by men. Be watchful of the person you're looking at. Follow her or his body language for cues on whether or not he or she is liking it.

'Just because Indian parents bring their children into this world doesn't mean they get to control their lives forever.
Why do our parents want us to live the way they want us to live?
Because they tend of believe they know better than us. Because they've spent more time on this planet than us.
But the problem lies in the fact that they should raising them. They don't get that, beyond a point, it's their children's lives they're interfering in. Just because they're responsible & accountable for their children's lives & therefore they allow to live the way they want. But wisdom lies in understanding that even if their children are a piece of their heart, their minds are independent. They've their own wishes & want to make their own choices. They don't want to live in this world by their parents standards. In fact, to expect their children to live as per their parents' choices in itself in incorrect. It compromises the very fundamental aspect of freedom.

The four boys Ravin, MP, Raamji and Happy are back and this time they are here to celebrate their bachelor party which never actually happened earlier. They plan a trip to Europe covering Prague, Czech Republic and Croatia. But trouble never leaves them alone. Right from visiting the embassy for their visa to boarding the plane and then finally the trip, trouble seems to be their fifth companion. The mess that Ravin and Amardeep creates after the sudden cancellation of their plane is hilarious. It was nice to read Avanti mentioned too. For those who don't know who she is, she is Durjoy Dutta's wife. The book is more of a travelogy and gives us some major friendship and travel goals.

In a lucid and sarcastic language, the book is a fun read. The plot is beautifully crafted and the real life characters add live to the book. I specifically love the way Friendship narrates the whole story and reading his experience every now and then was a perk. A brief discussion over men ogling women was again crafted with beautiful words but had it ended with a conclusion rather than just a discussion, it would have been great.

The cover and title both makes this book attractive at the first sight. Having read all of his previous works and being a hard core Ravin fan, I expected a lot more from the book. The typical Ravin stories is what I love and this was certainly not the same. This was a completely new theme that Ravin tried again after 'Like it happened Yesterday' but I feel he should get back to the genre that he is a master of. At times, the story seemed to be exaggerated too. The screenshots of Whatsapp chats attached in the end gives a sneek peak of the kind of bond they share which makes this book a happy ending.

My recommendation:

The belated bachelor party is more on the fun side so to all his fans complaining him of not writing a happy ending stories and making his readers emotional, this is just your book. You are going to have a great time reading it. But people fond of his love stories may end up a little disappointed.

The Belated Bachelor Party by Ravinder Singh.

The book cover as well as title is a self explanatory about the story line of the book. Perhaps, never judge a book by its cover.

The core of the book is the friendship and its struggle. The book is a story of four friends who decided to meet each other in Prague for their Belated Bachelorette. The four friends- Ravin, Manpreet, Happy, Raamji is part of the book about whom we have read in the previous books as well. Since none of them never had a bachelorette trip they decided to fly down to Prague and hold dear what is lost in the past.

But, how a trip is possible with a number of hurdles, fights, cancelled flights and getting lost in the new city. The master of plan Ravin did his best to do everything perfectly and wisely, but when he thought everything is going fine, destiny brought something else to them.

The narration of the book is flawless and quite sarcastic. The story execution is fine and the plot is up to mark. I have loved the book, but not as much as I have enjoyed reading the previous books. The plot of the book was exaggerated. But the expectations always high from the best selling author, and this book did let me down. It's an interesting and leisurely read for someone who wants to live through again the college days. The beginners can give it a try. Somehow, I am not content at all.

✨The belated bachelor party is a novel in which there is a group of 4 friends, planning a Euro trip after a gap of 12 years since there last trip.

✨If you find this storyline fun to read, then I assure you would have a fun time reading this book.

✨Every planned trip calls for unexpected turns of events and ofcourse, these people are not an exception.
°
°
✨This book is definitely one of the reads that keeps you totally engaged with it's fun events.
✨Can you imagine being struck in a no-man land, with a suspect of criminal case and with no valid visa?
✨Any tough situation when faced grouping up with friends can never miss a pinch of fun and giggles.
°
°
✨I was able to relate to the fun in the failures of plans that happens in the book, as I have been to places with my bunch of people and the fun we had can not even be publicly spoken of.

✨Most of all, I was able to closely connect to the rare serious conversations they have.
✨There were so many places in the book that reminded me of my moments with my friends.
°
°
✨Enough of my boring talks, pick up the book NOW for a chill, fun and engaging read!!

✨And reading this book helped me overcome the emptiness of "no-travel" situation I'm currently in!

Book Title: "The Belated Bachelor Party"
Author: Ravinder Singh

"Bringing children into this world doesn't grant perpetual control over their lives."

I found myself unable to put the book down, eagerly flipping through page after page to discover what would happen next. The escapades involving MP stealing a cartridge and Happy unwittingly making off with drugs added an unexpected twist to the story. The "No Man's Land" chapter had me laughing out loud, and in fact, every part of the book had me in stitches. This book is a must-read, and I am truly grateful to the author for bringing this unique story to us. While Ravinder Singh's books often move us to tears with their romantic love stories, "The Belated Bachelor Party" stands out as something refreshingly different. I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this book and found it so captivating that I felt compelled to write this review. It's a reunion story that's an absolute must-read.

One day, a couple watched a movie in a theatre and after seeing the female protagonist go on a solo trip to Europe, the wife found it fascinating and decided to do the same. When she discussed her decision with her husband, he tried to talk her out of executing the idea. On failing in his attempt, he retaliated saying that he would as well go on a Euro trip, not alone, but with his friends. This accidental retaliation had its merits, though.

The friends he mentioned were four of his friends from college and it's been twelve years since they graduated and they never had a bachelor party before any of their marriages. So if the plan succeeds, this would be a great reunion- like a belated bachelor party. From convincing every one of the friends to getting permission from their wives, everything was done including deciding which place to go. So this book was all about what happened on their trip to Prague!

Before getting deeper, I would like to highlight the fact that this is just a review of the book and not a recommendation. Definitely not! (No offense!)

Here are the reasons why I couldn't connect with the book:
 • The book was more like a 250+ paged travel blog than a novel
 • The central conflict was ruled out. Even as I passed 200 pages, I couldn't find the narration of the main conflict, which was mentioned in the book's description. (Oh yeah! The story was narrated by 'Friendship'. Yes! You heard it right!) Getting back to where I left, it was disappointing as I did not enjoy even until the page, where it was finally explained, which too, took only 4-5 pages! (Here I wished that I could DNF this one. But I never did that- one of my bad characteristics!)
 • There are times where I felt that the story was melodramatic.
 • Among the four characters, I could characterize only Amardeep, aka "Raamji" and the rest of them were hardly given a characterization.

The good side of the book is that it had some good humour then and there, and a lively description of how friends will be.

I have read Ravinder's other book "Your dreams are mine now" and I literally cried at it's closure. It became one of my favourite books. I, then, read two other books of him- 'I too had a love story' and 'Can love happen twice'. I remember the story line with a blurry vision, but they weren't bad! However, I really regret picking this one!

If you would like to pick a light read and don't mind about a book's plus and minus, then you could go ahead and pick this one. (But, please don't curse me if you are not satisfied!)

S0, this book is a story of four college friends who are married by now and have their respective families and don't live close to each other as they did in hostel, and when their college ended they had decided to meet gain, all four of them together. And an idea had clicked in on ones of the friends head who was also the mom of the group that they should do a trip to Europe and have a reunion, without their families, just the four of them...so they started planning it and the got permissions from their wives and as they were thinking that this was the hardest part of this whole trip, that's where they were wrong, they had problems with visa and almost didn't get their visa and almost didn't catch their flights to Europe, and they did some adventurous activities like shooting and also the first thing they did was to buy gifts for their wives back home, and after shooting they had gone to a strip club and from there many things went downhill, they had no money left by the end of the night and one of theirs wife had to pay the money, then there were some emotional parts as well as to what will the last one who lives is gonna go when the rest of them are gone, and some good discussions about family, life, countries and feminism, men ofcourse and then they couldn't go into Croatia because they didn't have the visa for that country, they (RAVIN) thought that this Croatia fell in Schengen region and then they were in NO MAN'S LAND for some time cause they have been out of the last country they visited and didn't have the visa for the next country they wanted to go, and the police caught them, one of them had got a gun and one of them had got an illegal party drug with them from the strip show the night before and they all had to get naked and in the end they slept good and almost missed their flight...and some of the lines, words are so funny with or without context and first I didn't feel like reading this books, it was not very interesting but it did get interesting thank god, otherwise I would have been so furious ong and yeahh one of the best books I have read, and most of all it was so fucking funny and I have read a book of Ravinder Singh before, it was alright, so I didn't have much expectations from this book, but it was GOOD good and I felt at times that this book resembled ZNMD idk but I just link that movie to everything but yeah my opinion. And lastly, it's a good read.

In a mood for reading something light hearted, filled with humor, adventure and a lot of madness? Something that takes you back on a trip you had with your friends? Did you also missed planning your bachelor party? If yes, then this book’s for you.
PLOT (No spoilers): It's been twelve years since Happy, MP, Raamji and Ravin graduated. Well into their married lives, they realize that none of them had a bachelor party before their weddings.
But it's never too late to set things right. They go about planning their belated bachelor party - a Euro trip which, well, ends up becoming the trip of their lifetime.
There aren’t many books written that celebrates friendship by Indian authors. And when this one released how can I not lay my hands on it. I had a smile and sense of excitement while reading the book. It depicts the sort of friendship in which you don’t have to be in contact with each other at all times but when you do it feels as if nothing has changed.
I have read every book published by Ravinder Singh as it was his books that got me into reading at the first place. For all those who thinks of him as just a romance author, this book proves that he is so much more than that. It’s unlike any other books written by him. Filled with crazy adventures and funny scenarios, it was an amazing read for me.
For readers surprise, along with being a funny read this book addressed some serious issues of society as well. This book is one hell of a ride that will take you from hurdles of applying Visas in the embassies to places like Prague, Austria, Vienna and more with author’s witty and sarcastic style of writing. It’s definitely worth a shot.
Based on real life incident with a hint of fiction this book will definitely either make you plan a reunion with your long-lost friends or will make you reminisce the good old friendship times.

Thanks a lot @harpercollinsin for sending me the book . It was totally unexpected and I was so happy when I received it . .
.
At last I completed this book . I generally don't take that much time , but tbh guys , the book was full of fun , comedy , humour , the in-between interruption by @thisisravinder sir was the most tricky part and I loved the idea .
The story start with the flow of having some adventure, but it goes through all those misadventures , starting with the issue of getting a VISA to the no-man's-land 😂😂😂😂😂. Also the author started the book with such
enthusiasm, that I was like , I have to read this book today only . #nowornever. 😂
In an overall I am happy that , its the first book by @thisisravinder sir that I read , and it was like , " you nailed it sir " .
Even the book cover , the book title all were just amazing . The pace of the story was erfect . .

Book : The Belated Bachelor Party
Author : Ravinder Singh

This book's cover and the story gave so much of the friendship vibes. This was such a different story by Ravinder Singh, as I have read each and every book he has written.

From the starting itself this book made me laugh, the conversation between the four friends, there vacation plan and how everything goes. There was a smile on my face while reading this story. Though some discussions between them felt like they were unnecessarily dragging, but that's what happens when friends start a topic and each one want to put his point forward, it feels natural, and also there was valid points in there discussions.

I love there relationship with each other. The adventures reunion trip (there belated bachelor party) on which they all went was hilarious to read, how they actually planned it and how it actually happened. I enjoyed reading this book so much. And I will recommend this to those who want to have a hearty laugh and want to read about a beautiful friendship relation. Ravin, MP, Amardeep and Harprit are so different persons and yet share such a beautiful and heartwarming friendship. They argue, they keep there point of view and yet understand each other so well and in the end there friendship is what wins.

The narrator 'Friendship's' commentary in the starting and in between was so interesting to read.

There is a case with me that whenever I read a book from Ravinder Singh, I just presume that this is a true story and I love that this was the true incident of his life with somewhat of fiction in it. That WhatsApp chat in the end was cherry on the cake.

🅱🅾🅾🅺 🆁🅴🆅🅸🅴🆆 - The Belated Bachelor Party By Ravinder Singh

#Preads ⭐ 3.75/5

"Romantic love is so overrated. If you don’t believe it, ask all those who people who neglected me after falling in love, then had their hearts broken only to come back to me and cry on my shoulders."

-Prolgue page X

‘The Belated Bachelor Party’ by Ravinder Singh is a story of four friends, who plan to reunite almost a decade after to celebrate their lost bachelorhood.

The ‘married’ friends – Harprit (Happy), Manpreet (MP), Amardeep (Ram Ji) and Ravinder (Rinku) – take a (mis)adventurous journey to Europe and the rest is…well, that’s what the novel is all about.

The novel is a roller-coaster ride of fun, laughter and a lot of mishappenings. You obviously expect the stale bachelors to end up at the strip club in a foreign land, but Singh, to your and mine surprise, will also take them to the gurudwara. Some unimaginable things happen, like standing in a no man’s land without a Visa but with some leftover party drugs and rifle cartridges.

Even as the story was unpredictably predictable, Singh’s comforting writing style ensures you feel at ease. Every character is crafted with such easy details, it makes them relatable and memorable. The slight touch of Punjabi language was just what my Punjabi heart was craving for, and that was delivered in perfection.

This novel will surely take you to the memory lane as you will be drenched in nostalgia of your friendships. It is sarcastic. It is hilarious. It’s just what you need on a sad Covid-hit afternoon.

Watch my video review of The Belated Bachelor Party by Ravinder Singh: https://youtu.be/JazllBeLKyM

I have never read Ravinder Singh's earlier novels, and I picked out this book because the plot sounded interesting. After reading it, I thought it was very average and somewhat over-hyped. My main problem about this story was that it didn’t have any direction at all. It felt like a random story where these four people reunite, some funny situations happen with them, and that’s it, the story is over! Moreover, I thought only two out of the four characters distinctively stood out, who were Ravin and Amardeep. The other two from US and UK, Harprit and Manpreet, felt like the same person. Moreover, you should NEVER bring up AIDS or Cancer as a joke in any book. There are people who are suffering from these diseases daily, and I really didn’t like the characters using them in a lighthearted manner, no matter what the context is.

But there are some funny moments in the story that made me laugh. I also liked the concept of 'friendship' having a voice and narrating the story. Also, I did like the overall theme of friendship between the four friends, as it does give you that nostalgic feeling of your school and college days where life was simple and fun spending time with your friends before responsibilities kicked in. But, would I re-read this book again? Probably not, because in the end, it is not that memorable.

Ravinder Singh's Your Dreams Are Mine Now is among the first few books I read. This book unlike all his other books isn't a love story,it is as the name suggest a book about four friends' bachelor well belated to be precise. The friends mentioned in the book are indeed Ravin's real life friends, they feature in I Too Had A Love Story and Can Love Happen Twice as well. The chapters building up to the trip are pretty funny,it does a good job in making you a part of the story but once you're in there is not a lot that this book has to offer apart from the laughter, for which the author tries hard and that's vivid, the jokes don't feel organic most of the time. The book is inspired from the films like Zindagi Na Milegi Doobara and Dil Chahta Hai,Queen is the Bollywood film mentioned as a source of inspiration for this trip.
Since Ravinder Singh is the author which had a huge role to play in getting me to start reading,I do have a soft corner for his books, since I have read all of his work, his friends too are known to me so some of the inside jokes which I was able to laugh at might not make everyone laugh.
The discussion about why India men stare females the way they do is also something that remains with the reader. The behind the scene is one of the highlights of this not so great book,if you're looking for an easy read go read it otherwise it can be skipped.
