There are lives at risk, and it’s up to him to save them.
But if he wants to defeat the main villain for good, he has to figure out what the villain is planning, and his only source of information is a man in a coma.
He knows what he has to do. He just doesn’t know if he can.
Warning and minor spoilers: Like the other books in the series, “Enhancer 4” is an 18+ book intended for mature readers. It contains sex, violence, and nudity, but it’s all very tastefully done. It includes very light gamelit elements, occasional bad language, and is set in a cyberpunk alternate future. Most of all, you will find an engaging superhero adventure story with a few unexpected twists.
The Enhancer series was written to entertain. If you’re looking for a fun read, you’ve come to the right place.
Clearly the author wants so build an apocalyptic story yet we only ever get glimpses of it. At the beginning of this book, we see the main character go through the wreckage of a town and it has shocking imagery and maybe even a little emotional scene, but after that we get nothing. Ty literally is stuck doing absolutely nothing till the near end. Jeebus I need some milk. We spend all this time building to a crisis yet we only ever get to experience anything second hand. Why would you limit yourself to one perspective if the person we are with is a side character? Ty never fights on the front lines, unable to do anything when a crisis emerges and thirdly doesn't nothing to help him upgrade his power except take drugs. Jeezus for a superhero book, we the reader feel less than a citizen with no powers. We literally have to slug through a book with a character who isn't essential at all. Take Ty away from the story and you might bring more good things than bad things plot wise and storytelling wise.
I can't understand why people seem to enjoy this series. I just don't understand. If I pick up a superhero story, I want to experience some insane fight scenes and some confrontations with not only the big bosses, but the mastermind who plans all the evil stuff. I want to see how far the main character can use his powers. I want to see him not only at his weakest but at his strongest as well. I want to learn the ins and outs of the superhero people, if not everyone at least the main character but this book doesn't do any of that.
Ty is unable to be of use in any fights when fighting anything stronger than a human. There is no confrontations with any of the big bad characters to build any hype. Ty always, and I mean always, thinks of and idea and says, "I will do it later". (I get that he is in a time crunch but making the character useless for 4 books because of it is not good story telling. At least have him fighting or constantly pushing himself rather than just have him depending on others to do things. How is reading a story like this interesting when you only have one perspective? Everything that Ty does in the story has little to no impact on anything. So far in four books, Ty has only done two things of any consequence. Plus the two things that he was able to achieve impacted the story to the minimalist extent. )
We only ever see Ty being underpowered. At no point in four books do you get the sense that Ty truly overcame anything. We get no scene where you feel that Ty truly triumph or did anything that meaningfully impacted the story in a good way. This is just sad. The backstory we get on the other characters surrounding Ty is so bland plus so little. You get small bits of information about a characters past and these small tip bits of information doesn't even lend to you liking the character more. If anything you are just left asking for more knowing you are not going to get any.
Once again author I would like to iterate, know your target audience. If you gonna write a 18+ book, please assume the person reading it has a well developed brain and write a story that they can enjoy. If you wanted to write a story like this, just remove the harem and the sex and write a young adult story. Maybe then if I had pick up this series, I would maybe have enjoyed the story more but as it stands now this story is just bad.
( Format : Audiobook ) "Who wants to be a super hero?" Tempest's father, the Architect, has been found but is in a desperate and deteriorating state. Ty had taken another drug to try to level up and gained a new skill without her being able to control it. But certain of the Master's creature had also greatly increased their powers and were wreaking havoc in different areas of the city in terrible ways: it is up to Ty and Lilith to take them down. And they found out that the situation was even worse than they had thought.
This is an easy read episode of the Enhancer series which really needs to be read in order, from book one to understand the characters. That said, it would be possible to pick up the majority of the story with this book. There is the usual ratio of battling action as with most LitRPG books, but is different in that this also has interaction with the little people the bed is try to protect. There is nudity and a little sex, all conducted with 'the best possible taste.' Narration by Chris Graves is crisp and well suited to the text.
My thanks to the rights holder of Enhancer 4, who, at my request, freely gifted me with a complimentary copy via Audiobook Boom. This is a quick, light, easy read, recommended to fans of comic books and super heroes. But start with volume one.
Ty tries and tries to help his team mates, but never feels that he is doing enough. Through a suggestion from his friend, he tries a new drug being tested by 1 of the mega-corporations, which at first is a serious game changer. But, with all good things, there is a down side of when it wears off and all the withdrawal effects. The villain posing as the drug tester company then releases it to the general public saying that it will make them Super too, but instead it starts kill people off. This was a harder story to read for me, but still enjoyable. Read in 4 days
Ty and his crew of superhero ladies continue the fight to save the city. Ty volunteers to test an enhancing drug but the results are confusing, fogging his brain at the worst of times. Trying to figure out what the Master has planned and why has them all scratching their heads. The gamelit elements have all but disappeared, the story pretty much becoming strictly a superhero adventure. The story is still exciting and the ladies keep my interest up.😊 I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
If you like RPGlit with a little bit of soft core erotic harem to increase the appeal; then you will probably enjoy reading this lightweight series. I give it three stars because that is my rating system. Four stars would be worth re-reading. Five us for the few I return to again and again.
This book is part of a serial. For the most part I enjoyed it but there were certain aspects with character development and plot that have to be addressed in the next installment of I'll have to curb my interest. Mainly the MC is too naive to be endured. His issues about money and how to generate an income appear immature and short sighted.
Great no brainer adult read keeps your interest through out the whole series and let's you relax and enjoy the story line without leaving you to think about how it will end . A very fun and relaxing read
Read the series from book one and the characters will be clear and develop as you read more. My mistake that I needed to go back but was easy to get easy to catch up.
I continue to enjoy the pacing of the story as well as the expansion of character development.
Great story telling. Characters are engaging. I enjoy the expansion of the plot to continue challenging our heroes. Looking forward to the next installment.
I started reading enhancer between other series I was currently reading. Since book 1 I haven't read anything else but enhancer. It is such a great fast paced story. I would reccomend this series to anyone that enjoys the super hero genre
Wyatt Kane’s universe is getting better and better with each cliff hanger book. Will Ty and the girls get the better of The Master or will the crime lords get to them first? Looking forward to reading the next book Wyatt
This is a well written compelling story with a very light dusting of sensual context, a couple scenes per book but it isn’t jarring or invasive so I think enhancer is applicable to a wider audience than it is currently pigeon holed into.
