Zane Crew, former SEAL, current security genius, and forever loner has reached his breaking point where his sister, Chloe, is concerned. Finished with her bad decisions, he’s sworn off cleaning up her messes for good, until danger chases her right onto his doorstep, his niece and nephew in tow. Before he could reach her, her assailants whisk her away, leaving him with two terrified children to care for and a trail rapidly running cold.

Kinsley Scott, a former foster child, always envisioned a career helping those who couldn’t help themselves and what better way than with the Department of Children and Families. Only, after a few short years on the job, disenchantment and mountains of paperwork weigh her down in a career that leaves little time to get hands on with the people she meets. When her heart gets in the way of her judgment and kids go missing, she’s thrust into a frantic rush to find them.

Forced to form an alliance, Zane and Kinsley clash at every turn even as the two children caught in the crossfire bring them together in a tangle of old hurts, regrets, and whispered admissions. Can they both forgive themselves for their mistakes and work together in time to bring Chloe home before it’s too late?

My first book by this author and I liked it.

A quick and easy read with a sucker punch of emotion courtesy of abandoned children and mistreated women.

Zane has his own demons but the all seeing Kinsley is on his case. She’s one of life’s champions. The one fighting in the corner for those who can’t fight for themselves.

Yes to Trusting Zane

Trusting Zane takes a different route with the characters of the previous stories. Zane is the main male character he is Security expert and good friends with Tex. He will meet Dylan and the boys as becoming the next member of the team and also the head Security for the new facility Jake had started in book five. I highly recommend reading this series in order. First story is Shielding Nebraska, and follow them to Zane.
Overall a good story, our main characters take us on an emotional rollercoaster and some of storyline was heartbreaking. Hagen hooked me from the first chapter and I couldn't put the book down until I got to the end. The next book continues were Trusting Zane ends. Happy Reading!!

I received this book as part of an ARC review. It was a quick read and lots of action. Well maybe not heavy action like an action movie but still felt like it. Zane has spent the years since his rescue and discharge from the SEALs doing what he could to protect others while hiding from dealing with his torture while captive. One night his routine is disturbed when his sister, Chloe, is banging on his front door. He gets there in time to see her kidnapped but thankfully his niece and nephew are left behind. Kinsley, the social worker in charge of his sister's case, tracks down his sister's possible location to him and refuses to leave once she knows the kids are there believing what Chloe told her about Zane. As Kinsley gets to know Zane, she realizes she was wrong. All this time, Zane and the Fierce Protectors are trying to track down Chloe. They find her and Zane must go solo to save her. Just before Zane goes on the rescue, Kinsley tells him the truth of her childhood and Zane reveals his scars to both her and himself. They get together. Two damaged people healing each other. Zane rescues his sister but she has a long recovery where he looks after her children. Kinsley quits her job as a social worker and ends up in a much better job more suited to her. It is a job where Zane was asked to provide security for. It is a facility to help domestic abuse survivors and others in need to recover and learn to live again. I certainly look forward to more in this series.

When Zane’s sister pounds on his door seeking help, this puts in motion a mission that this former SEAL cannot fail. His sister Chloe is abducted leaving behind her two small children. Zane is enraged when he realizes how the children have become used to hiding and not having what all children should have. Kinsley Scott is with the Department of Children and Families and has been trying to find Chloe. She is worried that her own past issues may have influenced her decision to give Chloe one final chance to protect and care for her children. Are they safe? She locates the children with Chloe’s brother and involves herself in their safety as Zane attempts to locate his sister. Will he find her before it is too late? Zane will have help from a former SEAL mate as well as other former military men who make it their business to help their “brothers”. I really enjoy books that give us a chance to revisit characters from an author’s books and Ms. Hagen is an expert at weaving them in to future stories. I read this book in one afternoon…couldn’t put it down, but didn’t want it to end! Loved it! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author. (by paytonpuppy)

Well what can I say.... Casey Hagen you knocked it out the park again.
I absolutely love this series.
No spoilers
This series could all be read standalones but seriously you’d be missing out on friendships, family, bonding, love, respect and so much more.
After returning from deployment years earlier Zane and his sister didn’t see eye to eye
On how she was living life with her children so she basically cut him out of her life,
but like most families when it comes down to it family comes first and Zane’s sister
knows she needs her brother‘s help only trouble is hot on her heals!!!
This book showed great love understanding and a deep yearning to be loved and accepted.
A security romance that had me wanting more as always wishing the next book was already
out for me to read lol.
One of my favourite security series
I highly recommend it.

Action-packed, insta-love, alpha protector - this book has it all!

Be prepared to swoon your way through this book! Zane is all that *and* a bag of chips, and there's simply no way Kinsley couldn't fall in love with him. Theirs is a lightning-fast romance, filled with action and suspense, arguments resolved with kissing, adorable children who will absolutely break your heart, and a triumphant HEA that will leave you cheering. And it all happens over approximately 72 hours. Whew! The brilliant writing keeps all the plates spinning while making every step in their relationship feel authentic and soul-deep. It's one of the best romances I've read lately. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

First book by this author, but definitely not my last. I'm a sucker for ex military but especially Seals. This book was a quick read, novella length that packed a huge punch.

Zane is fed up with his sister and refused to keep getting her out of trouble, but when the kids show up and his sister is taken, he makes it his mission to find her. The ex military members all jump in to help which is another reason I love them so much!

Kinsley, a social worker, is getting fed up with her job. So much paperwork and not enough helping the kids hands on. When she finds out that one of the families she's been working with has a missing mother, she jumps to help. Her and Zane constantly butt heads, but in the end they can't resist each other anymore.

I highly recommend this book!

Shane & Kinsley

This series just keeps getting better. Fierce is looking to upgrade security for it new facility for domestic violence victims and Zane is a security pro and former SEAL who fits the bill. When his sister's kids are unceremoniously dropped on his door step, their social worker Kinsley isn't far behind. Despite the insta love, the author's writing prowess makes it utterly believable. They'll both have to put down the baggage that's weighing them down and you'll root for them every step of the way. Fir warning if domestic violence is a trigger for you this probably isn't the series for you.

All I can say is WOW! Once again this talented author gives the reader an action packed story , that will not only keep you on the of your seat, but will also touch your hearts. The story of Zane Crew, his niece and nephew, as well as Kelsey Scott’s, is at times heartbreaking . Will Zane be able to safe his sister? Will both Zane and Kelsey find peace and happiness, or will they let the past hold them back?
A story worth your time, whether you are new to this series or a long time reader of it.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Trusting Zane is the story of two abused & damaged individuals finding each other & helping them heal. Zane was a military Seal & is now a security specialist. Kinsley is an orphan & a social worker. Although they are drawn together to look after Zane’s niece & nephew while searching for their mom, Zane & Kinsley strike sparks off each other. Neither wants to lower their guard & trust the other. The characters are strong but damaged. The plot is fast moving & full of action. I enjoyed this book & am hoping to read more of this series!

Kinsley is a social worker and she has screwed up. She should have never left the kids with Chloe. Zane is Chloe's brother. He also was a Navy Seal. Now he works on Security systems. Tex has called him about doing work for Fierce. They want to upgrade their system.
Kinsley has found out the kids are with Zane. She has pretty much moved herself in to be with the kids. Will they find Chloe? Will Zane open his heart to Kinsley and the kids?

This is the first book that I have read by this author, and it wont be the last. It is not the first book in the series and can be read as a stand alone. I have a feeling you would just get more out of the secondary characters if you had read the other books. Of course after reading this book you will want to go read the rest! This book is a great combination of a thriller with a navy seal, heart warming story about kids, with a dash of sexy times thrown in.

HIGHLY ENTERTAINING AND CAPTIVATING DRAMA

A fast moving very intense drama about an ex-Seal who lives in somewhat seclusion due to his physical scars and emotional guilt. When his sister is kidnapped as she ran to him for help, Ieaving her two small children behind. His sister's social worker shows up intending to take the kids away from him. He turns to his former Team for help and also convinces her to help. A dramatic rescue of his sister and a happy ever after.

As gruff as he was, I fell for Zane just as much as Kinsley did, even when he was mad at her. I felt horrible for her that she let her case get away from her, but I also loved how she did everything in her power to make things right for those kids and their Mom. This book was exciting and definitely kept me turning the pages to see what would happen next. This was my first book by this author, and I would love to read more.

A Great Read

I really enjoyed this book. It has an angry brother and former Navy Seal, Zane, who witnesses his sister’s abduction at his front door and now has to care for her 2 children and try to save her. There is a social worker, Kinsley, who screwed up and left the kids with their mother when she had doubts. You have 2 sweet, scared, abused kids, a sweet grandmotherly neighbor, good ole Tex and hurts hidden deep by Kinsley and Zane that are bubbling to the surface.

Awesome, pain is not always visible

I absolutely loved this book! While it was quick and easy read, it certainly wasn't an easy story..
Zane is an amazing man who truly loved his sister, and Kinsley an amazing woman whom the system hurt as much as war did to Zane....

Add a kidnapped sister, two small children who are frightened for their lives by just breathing and you have a story Susan Stoker should have been proud to release!
Terrific!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Talk about a beautiful story. This was expertly written and created with love. I cried for Zane and the atrocities he endured. I smiled as Kinsley came more & more into the story. A story of healing and love. This to me deserves more than five stars.
