This book gives a brief overview of how to read weather patterns and natural signs to determine what the weather will be. It is very concise, and contains some illustrations to clarify difficult concepts. It covered everything from cloud patterns to microclimates to cold, warm, and occluded fronts, and everything in between. The back of the book lists many helpful weather-related resources.
I found this book to be very informative, yet easy to read. The illustrations were very helpful, and I now know more about how to tell what the weather is going to do just by looking outside. This was a fun book to read.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is affected by the weather (which is everyone). It is easy to read and is very informative. Read this book, so when someone asks, "What will the weather do tomorrow?" you will be able to tell them... theoretically, anyway.
This book is ideal as a short, succinct, beginners guide. But don't expect too much more out of it. It was written as a sort of field guide for adventurers and hikers to help them identify signs of potential bad weather approaching. Handy, yes, but by no means comprehensive.
