Circumstances throw Beth and Colby together when a person leaves bombs in different public places around Cimarron City. They both have given up on love, but caught up in the dangerous situation, the pair find themselves falling in love. But can it last, especially when Beth is kidnapped?

I am loving catching up on Margaret Daley's Everyday Heroes series! So much intrigue and romance! With dogs! And that just makes me giddy!
Kidnapped is another page-turning thriller with an eerie stalkerish vibe. Eeek! Beth is in major danger but, luckily, her sweet neighbor's grandson has moved to town and he's a K-9 officer. who is determined to protect her. Cue the sparks and this reader's fan-girling over Colby and his most excellent K-9 bomb-sniffing dog, Duke.
That's right, explosives. Because not only is there something shady going on at Beth's house, there's also a bomber on the loose in Cimarron City. I avidly listened to the whole book in one sitting. Had to fight against speeding up the audio in order to get all my questions answered. And we were almost there when -- whoosh -- the story takes a startling twist that left me reeling. Wowzers! I think I have whiplash!
Kidnapped ( Everyday Heroes #4 ) By: Margaret Daley Kidnapped is book four in Everyday Heroes series. Any of these can be read as a stand -a -lone. The author drew me in at the start and I was hooked. I did not want to put it down. I was not disappointed. This is a fast paced , action, suspense, mystery, kidnapping, and romance story. I loved the story and the characters, both were well written and well developed. This book has so much happening, bombs going off, young child rescued on a bus and Beth’s house broke into. Things just keep happening. Don’t want to forget about Duke, a dog of K9 Police office ,Colby. Turn him loose and he will find what he is looking for. Reading and turning the pages to see what is going to happen next. The author keeps you guessing till the end. I was given a complimentary copy of this book, but was not told that I had to give a positive review. All opinions are my own.
When she got home, her front door was partially open. Someone was possibly in her house to rob her, but why they pick her since she is just a single woman without a lot of valuables. She had even gone out without her cell phone. She goes right to Ann's house to call the police. But instead of Ann answering the door a nice looking young police officer opens it. Colby, it turns out, is Ann's grandson just recently returned home after eight years of being away. He immediately goes over to Beth's house with her to see what is missing. Strangely enough she doesn't see anything gone. All of her jewelry as well as electronics are still there. But she is scared to stay alone, so accepts Ann's invitation to stay with her for a few days until Beth can get a security system installed.
Several days later Beth recalls something she saw in her house that she isn't sure is her's. Plus something feels wrong. Then there are bombs being planted in backpacks in several different businesses. Beth finds a backpack in the coffee break area. She reports it immediately to the police. Colby and his K-9 partner Duke arrive quickly to sniff it out. It is a real bomb!!! Timer is set especially for the time that Beth would be in that area. Someone is definitely after her. Her ex boyfriend, Thomas Carson, is a suspect. But Beth just can't believe that he would actually hurt her like that! Another bombing at her grocery store kills 2 people.
Like the majority of her suspense stories, Margaret Daley certainly writes fast paced books that keeps your interest until the last word. She weaves faith in God into each story. I'm a huge fan of her books!
Another fabulous book in the Everyday Heroes series from this author! Each one is different and doesn't connect so they can be read alone. As with the others, this one is fast-paced and has great characters. I can always relate to this author's characters and story lines because they are believable and realistic. I enjoy them very much and can never put the book down until I've finished it! They are so good! Beth interrupts a break-in at her house so feels vulnerable and stays with a neighbor until a security system can be installed at her place. I would too! The police determine that nothing is stolen during the break-in so why did it happen? Colby is the grandson of the lady Beth is staying with and he is a K-9 officer. He has recently come back to town after being gone for a long time so he begins to help Beth with figuring out who broke in to her house but also there is someone setting off bombs around the city so he is working on that. Between these two things, Colby and Beth become involved and it's a race for time when the two things start to intersect! I know you'll enjoy this book!
This book is a blast. Okay, maybe that’s not quite accurate, but with bombs being found and even some exploding, I chose the play on words to grab attention. If you enjoy a story with a lot of action, moments of intense suspense, a bit of romance, a message of faith, and a measure of mystery, you will enjoy this one. The author keeps things moving quickly as the heroine goes from rescuing a young child from a bus wreck to finding her house broken into to discovering a bomb at work. All of that happens in the first three chapters. The hero has just started a new job with the local police department and moved back to his hometown. I especially enjoyed his working relationship with Duke, his bomb-sniffing dog. Duke was not only able to sniff out bombs but could follow the scent of someone who had handled a bomb and track them down. The story was greatly enhanced by the presence of Duke. I received an advance copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.
Another great book by Margaret. Lots of twists and turns, murder, suspense, mystery, bombs, K9 dogs, you name it, it is in there. Great characters and storyline. She keeps you guessing. Until the very end.
Beth took off early from work to jog. She needed to do some exercising since she st all day at work. When she gets back to her house she notices her door is open a crack and she knows she locked it. She runs to a neighbor's house and knocked. No one home, meanwhile a man runs out the door and jumps into a white SUV. She runs to another neighbor. Ann is home and so is her grandson who is a policeman. Colby goes back with her to see if anything is taken. The next day she finds a bomb at her job site. She finds another on in the nursery at her church. She's kidnapped, slapped and shot. The tale goes on and on and it is very attention-getting. If you like good clean mystery, then I recommend this book to you.
Kidnapped by Margaret Daley Everyday Heroes Series Book Four Colby Parker has finally returned home to Cimarron City, Oklahoma after leaving twelve years ago. Good thing, as Nana's neighbor needs his help. And that is something he and his dog, Duke, can do...being an officer with a trained canine.
Beth Sherman had no sense of choosing men, obviously. She had dated someone and after breaking up with him...he retaliated against her like a spoiled child. But all had been well...until now.
His first week on the police force and everything is happening. Being he's a canine officer with a bomb-sniffing dog, Colby's needed. And yet, he's determined to protect Beth. He failed before; he can't fail again. Love this series. Each book is stand-alone but every one is worth reading. https://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com...
Beth hated when her parents moved all the time when she was growing up and hated that she always had to go see them instead of them coming to see her. She vows that she is going to make her house a home and stop moving now that she is on her own.
Beth decides that she needs to start exercising so she goes out jogging which she decides isn't for her. When she gets home she finds that her door is slightly ajar. Then she realizes that someone is in her home. She runs to her friend Ann's house and finds out that her grandson is a police officer who just moved to the area.
This book is fast paced and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Just when you think you have the mystery solved she throws a twist in the story and ends in a way you couldn't imagine. A must read and another awesome book by Margaret Daley
Kidnapped is the fourth addition to Margaret Daley’s Everyday Heroes series. I have loved the other books in the series and this does not disappoint. Even though it is part of a series., it can be read as a stand-alone. I loved the duo Beth and Colby teaming together to find out “who done it”. I was left guessing who it was until the end. There was no way I could have predicted the end. Kidnapped gets a well-deserved five plus stars from me! I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy clean and suspense filled books. I received this book from the author, but was not required to write a review. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.
I’m not sure I can finish this one. Bedsides every book in this series having “city” in every town name (Sweetwater City, Butte City, Cimarron City), she feels the need to tell you the name of the city (really sick of that word now) every other page so far in the first half of the book. Like we haven’t figured out where the story is set yet. Most people say “on the other side of town” rather than the proper name. Other than that, which is very annoying, the series is clean, Christian fiction. Simplistic writing and a bit rambling, but at least it’s not riddled with curse words, warped violence and explicit sex.
This one had to be my favourite book out of this series but that's not saying much. While I was reading I found a massive plot hole, Colby's Nana tells Beth about his past. Colby was not anywhere near them to over hear the conversation and he never mentions anything about he past to Beth, so as far as he knows Beth knows nothing. Yet he brings it up to Beth like they've talked about it a hundred times and doesn't question her about how she knows. That to me is a really big editing error and should have been picked up. This book is a bit more violent than the others.
Kidnapped is a moving story filled with excitement, suspense, a little romance, plus a Rottweiler named Duke, who is well-trained by K-9 police officer, Colby Parker. Each book in the Everyday Heroes series has an exceptional K-9 that is diligent when on duty and a love-bug when it’s time to relax. You will think you know how this story will end but it has a twist that will keep you reading. It’s a definite page-turner. The books in the Everyday Heroes series are stand-alone, and each is filled with faith, hope, and inspiration. Don’t miss this series! I received an advance copy of this book. The opinions are my own.
This was a book I listened to on audio while I walked. It was pretty short and didn't seem to get very deep. I felt like there were big gaps between chapters that left me feeling like I wanted to know what happened during those time gaps. I also feel I didn't get to know the characters in any depth. All that being said, it was fun to listen to and incorporated some faith in God which I appreciate.
This was a really really good book, from page one!!!! It was filled with sactiion, mystery and romance. The main characters were able to lean on their faith to get them through the hard times.
Margaret has a real talent of writing a short story with drama and a touch of romance. (Beth and Colby had a dramatic week from meeting for the first time to landing in hospital by day 7) of course Duke and Gabe have special bonding to humans.
Could not stop reading this book, very interesting and the setting was great. Lots of twists and turns. Thank you Ms. Daley for writing such a good book. I would recommend to anyone.
This is Colby and Beth's story with lots of suspense, action, and the developing romance. Plus it has working dogs. What more could you want! Very enjoyable!
The end of Everyday Heroes series finishes with a good story. One about love, guilt, self-forgiveness, and the dangers of keeping secrets among other things. want to know more? pick up your copy and your tea cup today. Happy reading.
This is the 4th book in this intriguing read of Beth's and Colby, a cop, along with his bomb smelling dog, Duke. It is a very well written story by a brilliant writer. Loved it
I really enjoyed this story, I love stories about police officers and canines, they make great stories. I will look forward. To more stories by this author....
This was an excellent book! Plenty of action and a dash of romance. You will find bombs exploding and kidnapping. Then there is a secret you will learn.
