“Cosa ha a che fare l’amore con tutto il resto?”
L’attrazione fisica e la chimica erano tutto.
Una sola donna? Gray ci aveva provato e aveva fallito.
I rapporti significativi erano qualcosa che Gray Dennison non aveva mai sperimentato, o desiderato, durante i suoi tanti anni in viaggio con la sua band, i CraVed. Essere distaccato si adattava al suo stile di vita semplice, edonistico e da playboy. Se si aggiungeva il suo atteggiamento presuntuoso, a volte arrogante, il cantante leader di una rockband emergente avrebbe avuto tutte le credenziali per essere un ricco, carismatico dio del rock negli Stati Uniti.
Con un cuore irrequieto e un grande fascino, Gray era una calamita per le belle groupie. Non era colpa sua se continuavano a innamorarsi di lui.
Il costante ricambio di fangirl, modelle e altri tipi di offerte garantiva a Gray che i suoi bisogni fisici fossero sempre soddisfatti. Durante l’età adulta, solo tre donne avevano scalfito la sua armatura.
Questo fino a quando non aveva rimescolato le braci ancora ardenti di una vecchia fiamma, concedendosi una seconda opportunità, non aveva fatto un grave errore tornando sui suoi passi, e non aveva avuto un discorso a cuore aperto con il suo miglior amico Brody.
Il culmine di questi eventi aveva aperto la mente di Gray, portandolo a riconsiderare le scelte che aveva fatto, affrontare le ferite del suo passato e trovare il coraggio necessario a cercare le risposte di cui aveva bisogno per salvare il suo futuro.

KL Shandwick has just blew me away with this one.
We have a love triangle that takes us over Gray, Hettie and Phoebe's love story, painful yes but the emotional roller coaster had me not wanting to put this book down. I loved Gray he's not your typical rock star he has a conscious and a story that defines why he's like he is. And the writing was so good you knew there was more to come. Two strong women but only one will get the prize but you wanted them both happy well I did.
KL's knowledge on people's emotional state and what they need to do is amazing, and shines through in her writing.
If I could give this higher than five stars I would.
I would recommend this book to all my friends you would not be disappointed.

Avete mai avuto una relazione breve ma non avete mai dimenticato quella persona? E se dopo diversi anni hai la possibilità di rincontrarla e di scoprire che è cambiata? Gray Dennison è il frontman del gruppo rock CrAved e da sempre è circondato da donne che vogliono infilarsi nel suo letto. Ma nella sua vita solo tre donne hanno lasciato un segno significativo: Lizzie, Phoebe e Hettie. Una di queste è stata un amore passeggero durato poche settimane ma Gray sa bene di non averla mai dimenticata; l’altra invece è quella che per anni è stata la sua spalla su cui piangere e ha raccolto i pezzi infranti del suo cuore. Chi è l’anima gemella di Gray? Quando finalmente saprà chi è, chi amerà veramente? Dovete leggere il libro per scoprirlo. Ciò che ho amato di Gray e che sono sicura amerete anche voi è che riesce sempre a dare tutto alle donne con cui sta, è sempre rispettoso nei loro confronti, dedica loro attenzioni ed è maledettamente sincero, non fa promesse che non può mantenere ma scopre che non è abbastanza per evitare di ferirle. Gray cerca di capire sé stesso più di una volta nel libro, grazie soprattutto all'incoraggiamento di coloro che lo amano. A volte i sentimenti sono difficili da capire e in qualche modo influenzano il modo in cui ci comporteremo da adulti. È facile per lui amare ma è difficile capire quali sono i suoi sentimenti e come riconoscerli. Mentre la storia va avanti impariamo a conoscere i sentimenti di Hettie per Gray, il suo profondo amore nato quando sono stati insieme nel passato e la sua rabbia per essere stata lasciata indietro. Anni dopo entrambi hanno preso strade diverse cercando di affrontare la vita, ma l’incontro causale e le situazioni attuali in cui si trovano mi hanno fatto trattenere il respiro e mi sono chiesta di continuo cosa sarebbe accaduto. Dovevano perdersi per poi ritrovarsi e realizzare il loro amore. Amo tutto di questo romanzo e anche se ha un finale molto soddisfacente, vorrei che ci fosse di più sugli altri personaggi secondari che hanno reso bellissima questa storia. L’autrice ci fornisce tutti i dettagli per scoprire Gray nel profondo, com'era nel passato e come è arrivato alla realizzazione di come doveva essere la sua vita e con chi è destinato a stare. C’è angoscia durante la storia e ci chiediamo se Gray riuscirà mai a risolvere i suoi problemi. La band e i suoi amici sono leali e soprattutto Brody è molto comprensivo e schietto. Una storia piena di angoscia e colpi di scena. Una storia brillante di fama, fortuna e amore. Posso dire che l’autrice ha scritto una bellissima storia, dando il tempo ai sentimenti di entrambi i protagonisti di crescere, a Gray di risolvere i suoi dilemmi, senza affrettare e senza arrivare subito ad una conclusione troppo veloce. I personaggi secondari hanno un ruolo fondamentale nella storia in quanto contribuiscono a spronare Gray e a fargli capire i suoi sentimenti; durante l’intera storia infatti ci fanno ridere a crepapelle con le loro battute e vi divertirete molto a leggere della loro amicizia e del legame che li lega…

Note sull'amore è il primo contemporary romance di K.L. Shandwick ad essere pubblicato in Italia. Ero molto curiosa di conoscere questa autrice visto che sarà presente anche al Rare di Roma di quest'anno, soprattutto perché i romance con protagoniste della rock star mi attirano spesso.
La Shandwick si è rivelata sin dai primi capitoli un'autrice in grado di catturare il mio interesse, quello a cui però non ero assolutamente preparata era la situazione triangolosa presente nel romanzo! Se avete letto un po' delle mie recensioni, ormai avrete capito che i triangoli non mi piacciono in generale, le storie con un personaggio che non sa ne cosa ne chi vuole veramente mi portano sempre allo sfinimento se vanno per le lunghe, e questo è stato uno di quei casi.
In questo libro infatti il triangolo non occupa solo i capitoli iniziali (magari!), qui ce lo portiamo dietro praticamente per tutto il libro! Anche i POV in prima persona sono di tre persone, anche se sono due i principali.
L'arco temporale della storia è piuttosto lungo e con vari salti temporali.
Incontriamo per la prima volta Gray ed Hettie a Miami ai tempi del college, quando hanno passato insieme cinque settimane intense prima che lui tornasse a casa in Inghilterra senza nemmeno dirsi addio di persona. Li rivediamo poi sette anni dopo, quando la band di Gray inizia a far successo anche in America e lui torna in Florida per qualche giorno dopo tutto quel tempo.
È chiaro che tra loro c'è stato qualcosa di importante visto che nessuno dei due ha mai dimenticato l'altro, ma le loro vite sono comunque andate avanti, lei ha un fidanzato e lui ha al suo fianco Phoebe, una ragazza che ci tiene davvero a lui e che lo ha sostenuto nei momenti difficili.
Hettie o Phoebe? Devo dire che tutte e due le ragazze mi sono piaciute, nessuna delle due è la st***za o la gatta morta della situazione, il problema è proprio nella testa del protagonista maschile!
Gray è un ragazzo rispettoso con le donne, ci tiene davvero a tutte e due, ma fino alla fine sembra vivere in un limbo dove non riesce a comprendere cosa sia l'amore, facendo così delle scelte che faranno inevitabilmente soffrire le persone che gli stanno intorno.
Insomma, per quanto mi riguarda è sempre stato chiaro cosa lui provasse per una delle due ragazze, ma lui ha portato all'esasperazione i miei poveri nervi prima di ammetterlo con se stesso.
Altro che second chance romance, qui ne troviamo pure una terza e quarta quasi!
Per quanto riguarda l'autrice mi piace come scrive, quindi spero di trovare in uno dei prossimi suoi romanzi in uscita una storia più affine a quelle che mi piace leggere. Il voto finale non è tanto per la qualità del romanzo, ma proprio soggettivo visto che questo tipo di storia non fa per me in generale. Se invece amate i triangoli amorosi, le storie che vi tengono in bilico fino alla fine e vi fanno ammattire... cosa state aspettando a leggerlo?

I don't know where to start with this brilliantly written book about Gray Dennison, front man for the rock group CrAved and the two women who love him.
Have you ever had a relationship long or short and due to timing or circumstances, it couldn't go anywhere? But you never forgotten that person and had the chance years later to reconnect, only to discover things have changed and people move on. Gray had a mind blowing five week exclusive relationship with Hettie Lawson during his last weeks at a college in Miami before returning to his home in the UK where his band is about to get off the ground. In his eyes, she was perfect in body mind and spirit and
Hettie's POV on how she got the most gorgeous, charismatic man on campus is a mystery she never wants to solve and while they both agree this has an expiration date, the morning Gray left and the way he left had long lasting ramifications for both of them.
Five years later and the band has relocated to New York and are enjoying the rock star life,especially Gray, after the death of his only steady girlfriend Lizzie back in the UK, Phoebe, the best friend of his band mate's wife, was there to help him pick up the pieces by becoming a really good friend and "bed" buddy. Gray's a heartthrob and makes no promises of more to Phoebe than what they have and she's that much of a free spirit to understand him at the time, but when the label wants them to go to Miami for promotion Gray breaks his own rules and takes Phoebe along.
This is where this story became fascinating for me. Gray is not your typical
Manwhore, he gives his all to the women he is with and treats them with respect and all of his attention, but he's about to discover that's not enough to keep from hurting them. Why isn't it enough, he can't help not feeling more, or can he. Gray tries to understand himself, more than once throughout this book but with the encouragement of a chance encounter and words of wisdom from those who love him, he is on his way to self discovery that goes way back.
This book kept me guessing throughout on how this would go. I loved everything about it and although it has a very satisfying ending, wish there would be more on the other characters that made this a beautiful bittersweet read.

Conosceremo durante il viaggio tutte le persone che fanno parte della sua vita, gli altri membri della band. I dialoghi sono divertenti e questo un pochino aiuterà a sdrammatizzare qua e là una storia in cui sicuramente l'ansia è la parola d'ordine. Il rozzo umorismo cameratesco dei ragazzi è esattamente quello che immagineresti per la vita di un gruppo di ragazzi che girano in tour con la propria band.
In questo frangente ci viene anche presentata Phoebe, una bellissima donna dolce e sexy che giocherà un ruolo importante nella vita di Gray. Una bella persona che come tutti i protagonisti di questa ha i suoi difetti ed è in cerca della sua strada. Una persona forte, ma allo stesso tempo emotivamente vulnerabile che ha tanto amore da dare e che come tutti vorrebbe riceverne altrettanto in cambio.
Insomma, avrete capito che parliamo di un vero e proprio triangolo, che fino alla fine non sapremo come si concluderà, anche perché noi stessi ci troveremo a tifare per l'una o per l'altra o addirittura a sperare che entrambe diano forfait al bellissimo Grey... Ebbene sì, in più di una situazione avrei tanto voluto dare un calcio nelle gengive a questo splendido esemplare di uomo, non posso negarlo. Ma proprio per questo, dato il mio spirito evidentemente masochista, sono stata catturata ancor di più in trappola, non riuscendo in nessun modo ad abbandonare la lettura.
Gray ha sicuramente molti problemi da risolvere, emozionalmente parlando, prima di poter riuscire ad avere una relazione costruttiva con una donna. Le sue relazioni sono complicate nella misura in cui lui non ha coscienza di se stesso e delle sue problematiche.
La relazione tra Gray e Hetty è difficile, tra loro c'è un'intesa innegabile ma hanno obiettivi diversi. I dialoghi mostrano chiaramente che inizialmente non si tratta di amore ma sicuramente di qualcosa di molto, molto intenso che ha le potenzialità per evolversi ma che loro usano solo dal punto di vista della chimica sessuale che è sicuramente esplosiva. Le loro scene d'amore sono intense, coinvolgenti ed erotiche.
I sentimenti di Gray per Phoebe sembrano limpidi in un primo momento, lei è solo un'amica con benefici ma si complicano andando avanti e a questo punto anche noi ci rendiamo conto che lei è molto più di questo e ci piace anche molto.

WOW! If you have read the Ready For Flynn series then you know a little about how much angst and the twists and turns that KL's books contain, if you loved them then this is on another level. Feelings are hard sometimes to understand, how they affect us and the events that lead us into adulthood. I know that things that happened to me in my childhood stayed with me, they do affect how I react and behave as an adult, so I did completely understand how Grays thinking got a bit screwed up along the line. This story is quite deep, it makes you think. I did feel a bit sorry for Phoebe but at the same time she knew deep down how Gray felt about Hettie even if he didn't understand it himself. He was easy to love and he cared about his women, it was just hard for him to understand some of what his feelings were or how to recognise and work with them. There is angst and heartache in this and at times you wonder if Gray will ever work things out for his greater good. The band and his friends are great, loyal and Brody especially is very understanding and forthright. I feel KL did a great job not rushing this story to a conclusion but taking the time to let Gray work it out naturally, it would have been spoilt otherwise. We have to go through this with him to get the full understanding, I felt quite quickly who I thought he would end up with but I must admit for a while I wasn't sure it would happen. The sexual content is honest and down to earth, yes it is graphic but not over done or over the top. In fact it was quite tame for what we know of rock star lifestyle. I took my time with this book it deserved to be taken in and for all the nuances to be processed as I read it, there is a lot to it so to rush it I don't feel I would have got the full meaning or I might have missed bits. I think this is the best book so far, they just keep improving with each new one and if this keeps going then they will be off the scale. I wish we had more stars to vote with because most of the books I have read deserve the 5 stars but sometimes you get one that warrants more and this is one of them, so if it was up to me this would be at least a 7 star and I cant wait to see what she manages to bring with the next book.

I've always loved reading love triangle stories because they give it more depth, more passion, more angst and I absolutely love feeling torn as to who will stay with who in the end. I sometimes love to hate one of the characters and root for the other one.
What started as a fling between Gray and Hettie that lasted for 5 weeks, in reality felt like their feelings developed way quicker for each other in those five weeks.
The whole story kept going back and forth between Hettie and Gray meeting up after years from seeing each other, but they both had moved on and were in relationships whether serious or not.
To have to experience the painful feelings of seeing each other with different people was a devastating thing (for me) because even though Phoebe was a great girl, my heart was always rooting for Hettie.
This book really touched my heart to have to see how Gray struggled with his feelings and even though he was a great person and knew how to treat his girlfriend(s) with respect, he never failed to be straightforward and be truthful from the get-go, even though he knew that would always hurt the girl he was currently with.
Hettie and Gray's love story took a lot of beating (in my eyes) and they kept hurting each other in the process, but they always knew that there was never anyone else for them but each other. They just had to find themselves first and forgive each other before they can make it official and live happily ever after.
But they needed to get rid of the middle man and that was the hard part to do, especially for Gray.
I have to honestly say this book was magnificent, fast-paced and truly touched my heart. I absolutely loved it to the core.
There was absolutely no cheating involved, in case anyone wants to know. I personally don't have an issue with cheating but I know many people do, so I thought I'd point that out :)
A total must read 5 star book!

What a edgy story!! I think it goes without saying that I am a fan of this author and her stories of love, mixed with real human stories or loss or tragedy, or just emotional baggage and how one can struggle with it. This story is more about Gray and his own difficulties with love and how to even recognize it when it's staring him in the face.
Was this an easy flowing read where all the characters easily blended and ended in a happily ever after story? No, in my opinion it's a story that may frustrate you, or make you want to scream at Gray and shake some sense in to him kind of story. He is real, and real people have baggage. But for me, that is what makes a great book, one that stirs my emotions up enough to upset me or make me laugh or smile so big that an observer might wonder what it is I am reading to make me react so strongly. I found myself routing for one character in particular and I absolutely loved how it ended, even though there were many times I wondered if Gray was ever going to get it together.
Don't let this one pass you by, this author has many great tales in her and I happen to think each one teaches me something new. loved it!!!

So I really liked this book, but it was hard for me to Finnish only because I didn't want Gray to pick Phoebe. I know that might sound bad but it's the truth. Phoebe from the beginning wasn't a good match for me, for Gray because she was already with one of the other band mates. Seeing the spectacular bond Gray and Hetti shared melted my heart, and I was so sad when they split up. The fact that Gray said he had strong feelings for both girls made me sad. But in the end I loved how Gray took some good advice and got his life and love in order. I also loved the end of the story it showed how rockstars can be genuine, loving, charitable, while still having wicked side. ( by wicked I mean having a smart mouth, and being naughty) LOL all in all I had to Finnish this book to find out if Gray and Hetti had a happily ever after, and if you read this you'll find out what I did. 😉

Really enjoyed this book. The characters were amazing. The friendship of the band members was good and often funny. Gray and Hettie were great. A hot chemistry you don't want to miss. Gray is kind of a confusing man, he up front with his ways though. I actually wished I could slap him a few times. It was just kind of sad of all the years wasted because he didn't know what he was feeling was love.

Un flop ogni tanto, ci sta! E questa volta ci sono cascata dentro in pieno. Il romanzo non mi è piaciuto, è molto lontano da quello che mi piace leggere, ma non fatevi influenzare... leggete l’estratto e giudicate voi stesse!
Due bacchette per la protagonista. Ammesso e non concesso che Xxxx (non vi rivelo il nome, dovrete scoprirlo leggendo il romanzo) sia una protagonista e non un accessorio confortante. O sconfortante. Sì, dovendo scegliere, opto per lo sconforto su tutta la linea, l’ho trovata debole e scialba. Non ho altro da dire perché sarebbero spoiler.
Due bacchette per il protagonista. “…”. Esattamente, non ho niente da dire se non prendere per la punta ogni suo mantra e rivoltarglielo contro: ha bisogno di essere curato, ok, ma siccome non sono una psicologa (per fortuna!) più che la psicoterapia potrei usare un qualche metodo (non approvato dalla convenzione di Ginevra) che prevede di schiantare una verga che si abbatte su qualcosa di molto duro. Indubbiamente però è il protagonista, unico e indiscusso, del romanzo e tutto il romanzo è incentrato sulla sua figura, i suoi problemi con i sentimenti, il suo rapporto con il sesso, le ca…stronerie che combina con le donne eccetera eccetera. È molto lontano dai personaggi che mi piacciono, per quanto devo dire che è stato sondato e psicanalizzato fin nei minimi dettagli dall’autrice.
Una bacchetta per il romanticismo. Ma quando, e dove? Me lo sono perso, credo. Qualche dialogo che converge su dichiarazioni d’amore esplicito c’è, ma anche in questo caso è tutto molto lontano da ciò che apprezzo. In compenso, c’è molto sesso… posto che secondo me le due cose NON si compensano a priori; è come voler mangiare un ananas e invece finisci per bere una pina colada.
Due bacchette per lo stile. Il romanzo è tutto un racconto in prima persona al passato (remoto!) con il punto di vista di Gray preponderante rispetto ad altri. C’è tanto “raccontato”, e ci sono ampi passaggi di “spiegazione”, e questo non incontra assolutamente i miei gusti di lettrice. All’inizio pensavo fosse un problema di traduzione, ma dato che so che in Q sono molto attente e scrupolose a questo aspetto, credo invece che faccia proprio parte del taglio introspettivo che l’autrice ha voluto dare al personaggio di Gray. Onore al merito a tutte, ma non fa per me.
Tre bacchette per la struttura del romanzo. Nonostante i giudizi scarsi espressi finora, trovo comunque molto coraggiosa e se vogliamo anche “originale” la scelta dell’autrice di incentrare tutto il romanzo sul percorso di Gray per risolvere i suoi problemi, come ho già detto, non è nelle mie corde, ma questo significa solo che non piace a me.

Piacerà a chi ama l’introspezione dei personaggi e non si fa scoraggiare dal passato remoto.
Chiudo dicendovi che sia l’autrice che la casa editrice saranno presenti al RARE Roma 2019 che si terrà in settembre dove naturalmente cercherò di avere l’autografo dell’autrice, perché ormai il romanzo l’ho letto e poi sono curiosa… ma come le è venuto in mente di chiamare Poppy e Dottie le amiche di Hettie?

Quante volte in amore ci siamo chiesti: “E se ci riprovassi? E se lo ricercassi?”.
La storia di cui vi parlo oggi è proprio un ritorno al passato.
“Note sull’amore” è un romanzo di K.L. Shandwick, arrivato in Italia grazie alla CE Quixote Edizioni.
“Fu solo quando scoprii cosa fosse l’amore che capii che non importava chi fossi o quanto famoso sarei diventato, niente aveva importanza se il mio cuore era vuoto.”
Gray Dennison è una rockstar. Lui fa parte della band CraVed, una band britannica che sta avendo successo anche in America.
Anche se l’aspetto di Gray grida rockstar, è un ragazzo molto semplice, genuino, ma è anche un ragazzo che non conosce l’amore. Non ha mai avuto la sensazione di provarlo e solo una volta, tanti anni prima, ha provato qualcosa di profondo verso una persona, e quella persona è la dolce Hettie. I due hanno avuto cinque settimane di fuoco ai tempi del college e, solo quella volta, mentre Hettie piangeva nella loro ultima notte insieme, Gray ha capito di provare verso di lei un sentimento profondo.
Il ritorno della band in America, nella città di Hettie, riapre in Gray questa ferita e lui sente il bisogno di chiarire, così, spinto dal suo migliore amico e da Phoebe, la ragazza che scalda ogni notte il suo letto, Gray va alla ricerca dell’amore.
Phoebe è la ragazza che sì, scalda ogni notte il letto di Gray, ma è anche la ragazza dal cuore d’oro, quella che lo consola, lo sprona e lo fa sentire al sicuro.
Ed è proprio lei che spinge Gray alla ricerca di Hettie.
Chi sarà dunque l’anima gemella di questa rockstar così speciale?
La dolce Phoebe, la ragazza che lo fa sentire al sicuro, o la determinata Hettie, la ragazza con il sorriso più bello del mondo?
Questo, lettrici, dovete scoprirlo da voi, io posso solo consigliarvi assolutamente questa lettura.
Scorrevole, ben scritta e assolutamente ben strutturata. Ho amato i PoV di tutti e tre i protagonisti, che ci permettono di conoscere meglio le ragazze che si competono l’amore di Gray, ma riescono anche a lasciare un po’ di suspense.
Ho detto competono, lettrici, però non è la parola esatta. Il cuore di Gray è sempre appartenuto alla stessa donna, solo che lui ancora non lo sapeva.
Vi innamorerete di Gray, ne sono sicura, perché nessuno può rimanere immune al suo cuore puro. Lui è rispettoso, generoso e molto dolce con entrambe le donne, anche dopo aver spezzato il cuore di una di loro. Non fa promesse che non mantiene e non mente, mai.

Io le ho adorate entrambe, ma sono davvero contenta della scelta di Gray. Tra loro c’è un amore forte, puro e bellissimo, e mentre leggevo del loro amore spesso mi sono emozionata.
Che dirvi invece dei CraVed? Sono una vera forza e mi piacerebbe leggere anche le loro storie così da poter avere anche qualche altra pagina su Gray. L’ho veramente adorato!
Non ho nulla da obiettare dunque a questa autrice che non solo mi ha regalato una piacevole lettura, ma mi ha fatto emozionare davvero tanto. Ho riso tantissimo durante la lettura, grazie ai ragazzi della CraVed, ma mi sono anche commossa.
La storia mi ha preso da subito, tanto che non avrei mai voluto lasciare questa storia.
Spero di leggere molto presto altre storie della Shandwick, perché è stata davvero una piacevole scoperta!

Quante volte in amore ci siamo chiesti: “E se ci riprovassi? E se lo ricercassi?”.
La storia di cui vi parlo oggi è proprio un ritorno al passato.
“Note sull’amore” è un romanzo di K.L. Shandwick, arrivato in Italia grazie alla CE Quixote Edizioni.
“Fu solo quando scoprii cosa fosse l’amore che capii che non importava chi fossi o quanto famoso sarei diventato, niente aveva importanza se il mio cuore era vuoto.”
Gray Dennison è una rockstar. Lui fa parte della band CraVed, una band britannica che sta avendo successo anche in America.
Anche se l’aspetto di Gray grida rockstar, è un ragazzo molto semplice, genuino, ma è anche un ragazzo che non conosce l’amore. Non ha mai avuto la sensazione di provarlo e solo una volta, tanti anni prima, ha provato qualcosa di profondo verso una persona, e quella persona è la dolce Hettie. I due hanno avuto cinque settimane di fuoco ai tempi del college e, solo quella volta, mentre Hettie piangeva nella loro ultima notte insieme, Gray ha capito di provare verso di lei un sentimento profondo.
Il ritorno della band in America, nella città di Hettie, riapre in Gray questa ferita e lui sente il bisogno di chiarire, così, spinto dal suo migliore amico e da Phoebe, la ragazza che scalda ogni notte il suo letto, Gray va alla ricerca dell’amore.
Phoebe è la ragazza che sì, scalda ogni notte il letto di Gray, ma è anche la ragazza dal cuore d’oro, quella che lo consola, lo sprona e lo fa sentire al sicuro.
Ed è proprio lei che spinge Gray alla ricerca di Hettie.
Chi sarà dunque l’anima gemella di questa rockstar così speciale?
La dolce Phoebe, la ragazza che lo fa sentire al sicuro, o la determinata Hettie, la ragazza con il sorriso più bello del mondo?
Questo, lettrici, dovete scoprirlo da voi, io posso solo consigliarvi assolutamente questa lettura.
Scorrevole, ben scritta e assolutamente ben strutturata. Ho amato i PoV di tutti e tre i protagonisti, che ci permettono di conoscere meglio le ragazze che si competono l’amore di Gray, ma riescono anche a lasciare un po’ di suspense.
Ho detto competono, lettrici, però non è la parola esatta. Il cuore di Gray è sempre appartenuto alla stessa donna, solo che lui ancora non lo sapeva.
Vi innamorerete di Gray, ne sono sicura, perché nessuno può rimanere immune al suo cuore puro. Lui è rispettoso, generoso e molto dolce con entrambe le donne, anche dopo aver spezzato il cuore di una di loro. Non fa promesse che non mantiene e non mente, mai.

Hettie e Gray in sole cinque settimane vivono quell’amore definito epico.
Nessuno dei due lo dice all’altro poiché la loro è una storia con una data di scadenza, quindi decidono semplicemente di vivere il momento.
Entrambi hanno dei progetti di vita che non hanno un punto di incontro.
Lei sogna di diventare insegnante e farsi una famiglia mentre lui vive per la sua musica.
Sette anni dopo le loro strade si incrociano e le sensazioni, i turbamenti e la passione sono le stesse.
Hettie è in una relazione tossica, Grey è una rockstar internazionale.
Il nostro protagonista maschile mi ha fatto molta tenerezza, ha avuto delle frequentazioni, ha fatto soffrire inconsapevolmente tante donne per il semplice fatto che non sa cosa sia l’amore..
Questo motivo fa allontanare di nuovo i nostri protagonisti, entrambi soffrono per motivi differenti fino al momento in cui Grey non decide di fare chiarezza sulle sue emozioni.
Quando hai un forte trauma crei intorno a te un muro invalicabile ma Hettie senza saperlo riesce a valicarlo.
Solo che è difficile credere in qualcosa quando il tuo cuore è a pezzi.

This is my favorite story by K.L. Shandwick so far!! It had a love triangle with Hettie, Phoebe and Gray. I really enjoyed reading the story! Gray is my favorite as he's not just any rock star. He does care about his life and being famous isn't one of them.
The writing grabs you and gives great detail.
"Life is only as complicated as you want to make it, Gray. If you're feeling this bad, and man, let me tell you, I've never seen you look as miserable as you have since you came into this diner... "

I really enjoyed Notes On Love.
K L Shandwick always delivers a good read!
Gray and Hettie's story is spread over the course of a few years. From meeting while studying, to adults with lives and "loves" in between. They re-connect and Hettie always knew Gray was the love of her life. Gray didn't know what love was, just that he'd never forgotten Hettie, and with his rock star lifestyle, he never really realised what he was missing. He just knew no woman compared to Hettie.
You can feel the attraction between them from the start, something that never palled. It's a lovely story with great characters. Well worth reading.

A brilliant story of fame, fortune, and empty hearts. Having had a brief hot tryst in college, Hettie and Gray have lives on different sides of the pond and are destined for heartbreak. Gray leaves with only a text to Hettie and in the years after rises to fame with his band in the UK. Then, years later as Gray's life changes, he finds himself in Miami and thinks of Hettie. The girl that has his heart. As in most of KL's rockstar romances, there is pain on both sides. As for her, a loveless relationship, for him, a f##k buddy who suddenly wants more than Gray can give. Because of Hettie. They do get their happy ending, but not without a brilliant story to get there. Thanks to Ms. S for another wonderfully written story with characters that pull you in and make you like them. I expect more of these fabulous books.

I’m going to start off by saying I’m not really much into rock star books. I have a hard time connecting. I really wanted to love this one and while I felt the author did a great job with the characters and the Love, I felt it was very long. The writing was good, and the plot was good, but for me, I just couldn’t love it. I would be willing to read more from this author and will look into other books. 3 stars for writing and the characters.

Notes On Love is a second chance, love triangle romance. Gray and Hettie's story is full of drama, angst, missed chances, and wrong timing. The rock star and school teacher meet in college and have a whirlwind romance, but the timing is wrong and it takes years for the timing to be right and for them to get their HEA. A little long with Gray's back and forth, but a good story.

DAYUM!!!!! KL Shandwick has done it yet again!!!! She took my breath away with this book!!! Gray is one complicating guy in the beginning till you get to know him and find out why he thinks and feels the way he does!!! But through all of that he still stays this sexy guy with a heart of gold that tries to do good by everyone!! I absolutely loved him and his whole story!!!! Then there is Hettie oh I loved her, i loved her Sass and her whole personality and the way she looked at life!! All of the Characters in this book had a special role in Gray's life and I really liked all of them. I had a few laughed out loud moments and a few tears in the book. It's heart gripping and soul searching beautiful cause it makes you stop and think about your own life a little bit. Wish I could give this more than 5 stars cause it deserves it!!!

I am going to keep this review short and to the point.
This book was amazing. It was long but so very worth every word to every page I read. This book isn't your normal rock star book. Its full of heartache, angst and love triangle that will leave you breathless if not teary eyed. Gray was one beautiful man who had issues with his past that troubled him in his adult years. Not being able to settle down and chose wanted he wanted was a major issue for him. After giving himself time to heal. He knew what he wanted and he wasn't going to stop until he had the love of his by his side.
Phoebe was absolutely an amazing character in this book. My heart broke for her. Hettie this girl stole my heart.
Now I know this is Gray's story. And a beautiful one to say the least. But I loved seeing Hettie and Grays relationship flurish into what it did.
KL woman you are a doll and your writing is amazing. thank you for allowing me to read your beautiful words. Love your face!!!!

dnf at 25%: all he talks about is how good their sex was and nothing about her qualities as a person, phoebe was a completely useless character that had no feelings whatsoever (i mean, the guy she was fucking suddenly starts talking abt how amazing this other girl was in bed right in front of her and she’s like “it’s all good, go find her, have a great time”). also, the chapters were so long and repetitive, i was so bored i had to skim most of it. i hate this so much, not worth the half an hour i spent on this, maybe i’ll finish it later but probably not

KL Shandwick is becoming a go to read author, this book was amazing, I love hot rock stars and this book delivered and went over the top. Gray is a grown to earth guy, who happens to be a hot rock star. He has commitment issues and doubts about love because of his family circumstances, this leaves him to find a way to get himself Hattie, they will have your emotions all over the place, it will pull your heart and make you read all of the book in one sitting.

I went into Notes On Love, thinking l was going to get Sex , Drugs and Rock and Roll,
a famous Rock band with hot Rockers, groupies and endless orgies ...
However, what l got was a multi layered, angst filled story of a mans journey ,
his observations and endless questions of his treatment of the women in his life .
A young Gray , meets a pretty girl in college, and falls in lust,
he has only 5 weeks left of his studies before he has to leave the US for the UK.
What they have is a very short and very intense sex and fun filled time,
at the end of which Gray leaves a heart broken Hettie behind,
and with his head and heart filled with conflicting emotions.
As the story progresses we learn about Hettie's feelings for Gray,
her strong love that developed in the time they were together, and her anger at being left behind.
As she tries to live her life with the wrong man,how she expects to find love and fails.
Gray's Rock band CraVe, is becoming famous everywhere, with groupies following them all over.
One girl Phoebe catches his eye and a special bond develops with her, as he keeps her by his side.
What follows is a battle within Gray, who has feelings for both Phoebe and his first love Hettie.
Being abandoned by his mother at a young age has coloured Gray's views on women and love.
As he keeps hurting and justifying and repeating his actions with both girls,
he comes to realisation that he needs help, to stop this destructive behaviour.
l rarely read books with so much depth of feelings, and so much analysis of every action and thought.
K.L Shandwick has written a gloriously angst filled book, about a love triangle and second chances.
l rarely get so frustrated with the characters that l want to shake them.
This is a beautifully written book (if a bit long),l would highly recommend it to all angst lovers.

Notes On Love is one of the most beautiful and emotional Rock Star Second Chance Love story that I have ever read, my emotions were all over while reading, it actually sucked me right into the story line.
Gray Dennison is lead singer for CraVed, an up and coming rock band on the rise In the U.S and UK. Gray is every woman's dream sexy, hot, talented ( and yes he has a British accent "swoon") although he has his fair share of girls commitment is not something Gray is familiar with and we get to witness the real reason for that which stems from his past.
This story although being about a rock star has so much going on with angst, love triangles and finding your own self through healing.
While coming to America Gray finds himself in need of getting in touch with his college sweetheart Hettie, who he hasn't seen in 7 years since he left to go back to the U.K. to pursue his singing career, this is where the story has me glued to my seat while we watch the story unfold and how his current friend with benefits Phoebe played an integral part in this.
Years have past, both have gone their separate ways trying to go about life and both very successful but the chance meeting and current situations that they are in had me holding my breath and wondering what will come out of this.
I will say this story was a bjt long but it was written perfectly. KL gave us in detail all that was needed to complete the full affect of why Gray was the way he was and how he came to the realization of how his life was meant to be and with who he really was meant to be with.
I absolutely loved the banter between the band mates, they had me laughing out loud with the constant back and forth teasing.
There was hurt feelings in this story my heart hurt for everyone involved especially Gray but in the long run True Love always prevails.

Gray first meets Hettie when they are at college together in the US and they enjoy a hot and heavy five week affair before Gray leaves to return to the UK to pursue his career with his band CraVed. Despite feelings of unfinished business, each move on with their lives in the years to come until Gray returns to the US and memories of Hettie come flooding back. He reaches out to her again and we are taken on a journey of self discovery and, ultimately, understanding and love.
We get to meet the other members of the band and their banter with each other is hilarious. The back slapping and crude humour is just how you would imagine life on the road with a band would be. We are also introduced to Phoebe, a sweet, sexy woman who plays a large part in Gray's life. I found myself having a real soft spot for her. She was strong, yet emotionally vulnerable at the same time.
Gray's relationship with Hetty is a complicated one. I love the dialogue between them, those first feelings of not quite love but a simmering something are excellent. They challenge each other and the raw feelings of heartbreak are beautifully written. The sexual chemistry between them is explosive and their love scenes are steamy and erotic. Gray's feelings for Phoebe complicate matters and I really wasn't sure which way that relationship was headed. A broken man when it comes to love, during the course of the book we see him grow and change.
This is a wonderfully written, emotional roller coaster of a book, which is told from three alternating points of view. The use of flashbacks is seamless and gives the reader a real understanding of these characters. A great read which I highly recommend.

E’ proprio dai ricordi che parte questa storia, da cinque settimane trascorse in compagnia di una ragazza che l’ha avuto in ogni modo possibile, ma la vita non fa sconti a nessuno nemmeno all’amore, e quando si è poco più che ragazzi è l’attrazione fisica a dettare le regole, il cuore viene messo in silenzio per paura che sveli verità che i più non vogliono sentire. Ed è esattamente quello che farà il nostro Gray, la terrà stretta quella ragazza, con la consapevolezza che all’alba del nuovo giorno non saranno insieme, strade diverse, vite già orientate verso un futuro che li vede lontani, con i ricordi a fare da faro nelle notti più oscure. Ed è proprio quando meno te lo aspetti che hai l’occasione di riprovare tutto, di cercare una seconda occasione, un finale diverso che non è scontato che sia un lieto fine ma che ti dia pace e modo di chiudere un capitolo.
Non sarà un viaggio a cuor leggero quello di Gray, tante saranno le tappe da superare, tanti i volti incontrati sulla via, pochi visi quelli visti davvero, uno su tutti sarà perennemente con lui, sarà lo stesso che avrà accarezzato tante volte, sarà lo stesso che gli sorride di quel sorriso bello come nessuno, sarà quello che appartiene alla donna che lo riporterà a casa tra le sue braccia, per stringerlo e averlo come nessun’altra per l’eternità.

E’ proprio dai ricordi che parte questa storia, da cinque settimane trascorse in compagnia di una ragazza che l’ha avuto in ogni modo possibile, ma la vita non fa sconti a nessuno nemmeno all’amore, e quando si è poco più che ragazzi è l’attrazione fisica a dettare le regole, il cuore viene messo in silenzio per paura che sveli verità che i più non vogliono sentire. Ed è esattamente quello che farà il nostro Gray, la terrà stretta quella ragazza, con la consapevolezza che all’alba del nuovo giorno non saranno insieme, strade diverse, vite già orientate verso un futuro che li vede lontani, con i ricordi a fare da faro nelle notti più oscure. Ed è proprio quando meno te lo aspetti che hai l’occasione di riprovare tutto, di cercare una seconda occasione, un finale diverso che non è scontato che sia un lieto fine ma che ti dia pace e modo di chiudere un capitolo.
Non sarà un viaggio a cuor leggero quello di Gray, tante saranno le tappe da superare, tanti i volti incontrati sulla via, pochi visi quelli visti davvero, uno su tutti sarà perennemente con lui, sarà lo stesso che avrà accarezzato tante volte, sarà lo stesso che gli sorride di quel sorriso bello come nessuno, sarà quello che appartiene alla donna che lo riporterà a casa tra le sue braccia, per stringerlo e averlo come nessun’altra per l’eternità.

OMG!! I have never been so frustrated with a character in all my life, KL Shandwick what are you doing to me?
Gray Dennison is not your average rock-star, well not the type you usually read about anyway, the kind who use groupies and move on never using the same woman again, no, Gray lets them get close, he lays the rules down about being exclusive and stays with the same girl on the condition its just friends with benefits BUT of course the poor woman is going to fall for him, of course they are going to get hurt when he doesn't want more and then he gets a conscious about it and hates himself.
Honestly this guy, I was sweating at certain parts of this book, and I could have slapped my kindle at times. I didn't know if I wanted to slap Gray, hug him or chuck him off a bridge.
Gray was brought up by his father, abandoned by his mother and obviously has relationship and insecurity issues due to his upbringing despite being a sexy rock star who could have it all.
NOTES ON LOVE wasn't an easy read purely due to frustration with the character and decisions made or not made, it certainly was a roller-coaster of a read and I did not have a clue were the plot was leading too BUT I enjoyed it, I loved the angst, you could say it was Marmite, you will either love Gray or hate him, hates a strong word but... *shrugs.
Gray does redeem himself so get ready for whiplash, prepare yourself for a swoon-worthy ending

Gray was living his best rockstar life. All his dreams were coming true, success for himself and the band. He still had fond memories of Hettie, his girlfriend in college. They had only been together for five weeks and it was supposed to be a no strings because he was going back to the UK. But the heart wants what the heart wants, he left a day before he was suppose to leave and sent her a goodbye text. She was broken hearted, because she fell in love with him. Now seven years later he’s back in Miami and wants to meet up with her. Gray seems a bit like a jerk to me, he’s been with three women in sort of relationships. His heart didn’t seem involved with anyone of them. Harris is a jerk but honestly Gray is giving me the same vibes. I was seriously disappointed when Hettie came back for Gray, I can’t stand him. This book is not really a love story, Gray spends most of the time in traveling, music, therapy and with other women. I’m disappointed Hettie is going to meet with him yet again. I get the man has abandonment issues but still, this story doesn’t make me feel any empathy for him because I find him unlikeable. I also can’t stand Hettie because I hate women who are doormats, and I have no words for Phoebe. I’m giving this book four stars because the writing is fabulous but the story not so much even with the happy ending.
