"Maa Ji" by Sir Qudratullah Shahab is a remarkable collection of short stories. "Maa Ji" is the very first story of the book by which the name "Maa Ji" was picked by the author for the whole book. Sir Shahab mentioned the adoration of the mothers for their children. He also states that there is no comparison of the devotion of the "Maa Ji" with other relationships. By reading that book, one can't say that this book is based on fiction as most short story books are based on. By reading the very first story the reader can interpret easily that this book is not just based on fiction. Rather it is the amalgamation of fiction and reality equally. Sir Shahab has power excellence in creating Urdu and English literature. His intellect was so high that he created the true picture of society and his whereabouts. He was a man of brilliance and spiritual powers which is visible in "Maa Ji". In "Maa Ji" Sir Shahab included some own experiences and provided considerable segments of information and statements. He explained the patterns & habits of the people and other facts of life in it. Every story teaches in a new way through other people's perspectives. Sir Shahab's style of writing is not didactic. I love his style of writing. He doesn't seem to teach morality fiercely and harshly but his purpose of writing is true, moralistic, and didactic.

some stories are so good but some are too blunt and show the reflection of Manto.
