Ray and Sophie are heading back to “The Most Magical Place on Earth,” and this time Ray is bringing their two best friends . . . and a ring!
Having found his true love, Ray is over the moon about his perfect plan to ask Sophie for her hand in marriage. He arranges to return to the place they met, Walt Disney World, with their two best friends, Hyun and Carlos. But when Ray’s proposal attempts are foiled at every turn, he wonders if the universe is against him.
Sophie is concerned about returning to the place that holds so many memories, even though she’d overcome a lot of her issues on her last trip. But when Sophie suspects Ray is going to ask her to marry him, she’s confused about her feelings. Ray is her dream come true, but there’s a reluctance lurking beneath her love that she can’t explain. As the proposal nears, Sophie struggles to discover the source of her hesitation. The last thing she wants to do is hurt the man she loves.
Hyun is a huge Disney fan, and even though she had recently been to “The Most Magical Place on Earth,” she immediately accepts an invitation to return with her best friend, Sophie. When Sophie reveals her proposal apprehension, Hyun fears for Ray’s heart. Hyun will be there for her best friend and hinder Ray’s every attempt to propose, all while avoiding Ray’s inappropriate best friend, Carlos, the beast.
Carlos is almost as big a Disney fan as Hyun, and when he’s invited on a trip to Disney World, he’s thrilled to discover Hyun, the woman of his dreams, is also going. But when Hyun reveals to him that Sophie isn’t ready to accept a proposal, he teams up with Hyun to prevent Ray’s heartbreak. Carlos vows to show Hyun a different side of him and win her heart.
Alex Bailey was a bored writer/editor of documents as humdrum as vacuum cleaner manuals. She left that life behind to create more exciting worlds than the one she lived in and now writes stories with a splash of magic. When she’s not dreaming of being swept away to "The Most Magical Place on Earth,” she’s tending to her organic garden while belting out Disney tunes. Some of her favorite hobbies include: telling her children that “Mother knows best”, attempting to convince woodland creatures to clean her house for her, wishing upon stars, and Disney-ing.
Well, it's been a year since Ray and Sophie met, and now Professor Disney is planning to propose to his lady friend at Walt Disney World, where it all began. He's planned the perfect proposal, and invited their two best friends to join them. It's going to be a huge surprise for Sophie, and Ray is all kinds of excited.
Except that Sophie has an inkling of what's going to happen, and tells her friend Hyun that she's not sure she's ready. Hyun tells Ray's buddy, Carlos ... whom she can't stand, and the two of them unite to try to foil the proposal.
Now, it will come as no surprise that Hyun and Carlos get to know different sides of each other at WDW. It's a cute sub-plot to the whole story.
Sophie has some issues she has to work through, and we see her dealing with them as we go.
As with the first book, I found myself moved to tears more than once. I was surprised every time. There were just some things that hit me like the proverbial ton of bricks.
Both books are "clean reads," and I would recommend them to romance and Disney fans of all ages.
Once Upon a Proposal is a fantastic continuation to the Dream Come True series. It is a must-read for every Disney romance fan! I love how the author includes so many cute nods to Disney movies and parks. I was very glad to see the reappearance of some of my favorite characters from the first book (especially Ray, Professor Disney, *swoon*), and I liked how some of the characters showed up in surprising ways. I also loved the character development of some of the characters who could be described as peripheral in the first book but who become shining stars in this book. New characters from this book definitely feel like they are already at home in the series, and I hope that we will get to see them in future books! Especially a famous Disney cast member! ;)
I don't want to spoil anything, but I can't recommend this book and this series highly enough. Especially as someone who always dreamed of being proposed to in Disney World, and then had her dream come true. Such a magical story, and will be telling all my Disbride (Disney bride) friends about it!
It’s Valentine’s week at Walt Disney World, and romance is in the air in Author Bailey’s second book in her A Dream Come True series. Sophie and Ray head to the park with best friends Hyun and Carlos for a week of fabulous fun. Ray has a big question to pop to Sophie–will his secret, romantic plans succeed?
A fun filled jaunt filled with delightful twists as Ray’s proposal plans are thwarted at every turn despite the help of Hyun and Carlos. He’s starting to second guess his plans–will the spirit of the magic kingdom kick in before their trip comes to an end? Sophie begins to suspect something is up—but she’s still dealing with the tragic death of her sister. Will she be able to let go of the past, and step into a future with Ray?
A charming romance perfect for anyone who is a Disney fan. The descriptions of the grounds makes you feel like you’re visiting in the park with the characters. This is an enchanting series, filled with happiness and hope. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
After reading and loving Once Upon a Proposal (Book 1) I was excited to read Book 2. Once again, Alex Bailey has written a wonderful and sweet romance. Revisiting the well developed characters I enjoyed so much in Book 1 was a treat. The introduction of new characters makes me hope there’s a Book 3 in the future! This is a must read for Disney fans and those who enjoy a clean and entertaining romance.
The first book in this Dream Come True series was fun and I enjoyed all the Disney World references and scenes, but this book was just too much. Way overkill on the Disney theme and the back and forth with Carlos and Hyun drove me crazy.
This was not as good as the first one really. I thought it was tender how nothing went right until she figures out how to let go then it all came together. It did enjoy it, it just seemed to drag a bit. I'm glad it worked out for the other two as well.
I really love reading something set in Disney World. I wasn't sure about Day or Sophie, since she seems to hate Disney and he insists they need to get engaged there. I'd have liked to see more to their relationship.
