I woke up with the mother of all hangovers and a cringy memory. Yesterday, my old schoolmate came up to the city to invite me to his wedding. Poor guy was getting married to my ex. It's a long, sorry, alcohol soaked story, but the guy tugged on my heartstrings, so I told him I'd go to his wedding back home, and bring my fiancée along.
Problem No. 1: I didn't have a fiancée and had NO intention of getting one for a VERY long time to come.
So I did what all billionaires do when they have a pesky problem. I asked my faithful PA to sort it out. I swear, that woman can turn water into wine. Sure enough, she found an agency hiring out fake fiancées.
Mental note: give the woman a raise.
"Don't get my type," I told her. I don't want any complications. It's one dry weekend together, then I never want to see her again.
I thought my worries were over.
Until Problem No. 2 walked through the door.
The fake fiancee is an old hook up. Great. Just great.

Okay. So I’ve been having a hard time finding books that knock my cotton socks off. I don’t know what is going on but my book-dar is really off at the moment. So I thought maybe a sugary billionaire story would do and give me that rush again but
The story was written from both POV but we spent way more time in Savannah’s head with the occasional chip in from Dane. I’m not sure how I feel about the fact that they almost immediately fell for each other. I mean I get it Savannah hadn’t necessarily gotten over Dane after their last encounter but fuck me, apparently he took her virginity and bailed. I don’t know about you guys but if someone did that shit to me there would be some furniture moving. At least make him grovel. The fact that she didn’t even pick a fight about it and just wanted to fall back onto his dick just blew my mind.
But Savannah did not have that problem...because you know...magic penis.
Now after she lands on his dick then she suddenly has a moral crisis. It’s too late at this point. If you were going to trip about him hitting and quitting it, then you should have handled that shit before you bumped nasties with him again.
Anyway, I hung in there and read the book anyway. Then I got to 30% mark. Was I the only one who noticed that Dane’s eye colour changed from green to blue at this point? Up until this point his eyes were described as green. Then from here on they were blue. The editorial team
Again the hole thing was unrealistic. From page one this arrangement was for a wedding WEEKEND. In my world that’s 2 DAYS, maybe you might take Friday and Monday off and make it 4 days. There is no way in hell all that shit happened in 2-4 days. Or did the time frame change somewhere and I missed it?

If you are looking for a book that is brimming with drama and sex, you’ve come to the right place. However, if you are looking for a good solid story that builds and feels real, then, not so much.
Clearly there is a good romance story here, but it is swallowed up in jealousy, head talk, and endless, run-on sex...way too much detail.
I received a copy of this book with no obligation and I am posting my honest review. Unfortunately, I felt there was just too much “sexual detail” and not enough story content for this reader.

OMG this book is HOT!!! Dane is a playboy but out of love for his best friend, hires a fake fiancé to take to his wedding because the bride to be is an ex girlfriend, and the fake fiancé he hires ends up being an old hookup! Savannah is a no nonsense take charge kind of girl who still gets weak in the knees when she’s around him, but she’s a professional and won’t allow herself to fall for him again. Complicated? Hell yeah and that’s what makes this book such a great read.

Wow, this book was wonderful and hard to put down once I began. Savannah and Dane will grab your heart and take you on an emotional roller coaster. Dane was a man with multiple problems. #1 He obligated himself to attend his good friend's wedding who just happened to be marrying his ex. #2 He said he'd bring his fiance'. The only problem is he didn't have a fiance. #3 He has his Personal Assistant find him a fake fiance. #4 The fake fiance turns out to be a former flame. Now that we have the problems addressed, chemistry enters the picture and we have one hot second-chance romance. The characters were likable and so suited for each other. The story was fun and sassy. Guaranteed to steam up your Kindle. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to write a review.

I could not put this book down!! It is a second chance romance about two people that didn't part on good terms. One, Dane, left Savannah after taking her V-card and never looked back to pursue his career. The other, Savannah, was like a flower on the wind and could never decide exactly what she wanted to do in life. They cross paths again when Dane needs a fake fiancee. They make an arrangement with rules and everything. The most important one, Do NOT fall in love! However, rules are meant to be broken. I voluntarily received an ARC copy of this book and I am leaving an honest review.

This is a well written book with strong characters in Dane and Savannah who have a past .. and not a good one. The author brings a second chance romance which starts as a fake fiance and despite the rules they put in place,turns into so much more. She does a great job moving the story quickly and smoothly and I loved reading their story. Highly recommend this book.

This book was just amazing! I loved Savannah and Dane - they were truly a couple that I could see in front of me and I loved going on their journey. They were just amazing and I would love to know more about them and their future.

This was a good read. Dane needs a date to his friend's wedding because he stupidly said that he was engaged. He has a woman sent to him but when she arrives he realizes it is Savannah. She is someone that he knew from the past. Of course by the end we know that by spending all this time together they reconnect. Luckily this time they get their HEA.

I will put my hands up and admit I only got 20% in before calling it a day. I didn’t like the flow of writing and there were already gaps beginning to show. F
Firstly, Dane said he had a memory of him and Robert at 10 years old. Then when savannah mentioned how the both men met, it was apparently at college?!
Secondly, if it’s Savannah’s hometown too then how come no one will remember her? And, the story of them meeting 6 months ago is bull cause people would know they knew each other in school?
Oh, and THIRDLY......... apparently he took her virginity in a 2 bedroom tiny apartment before he went to college.. well why was he in an apartment? He was still in school?? There’s too many inconsistencies!

Pretend You're Mine is the latest release from River Laurent and I 100% bow to the incredible amount of creativity she has bestowed upon us in this book. This storyline is truly superbly crafted, and exactly what a romance junkie, like myself, seeks when deciding on a book. A second chance at love? A chance to get it right?
Yes please! With River, I have been impressed, time and again, with her publications. However, with this release, I was absolutely riveted. I actually began recommending this book prior to finishing it; I was not even a third of the way through when I made my first recommendation. There are certain books that just grab you and hold your interest immediately & because that is exactly what this release is, to me. Pretend Your Mine is the kind of book I will most definitely read multiple times; just because it is packed with talent and it is an exquisite read. That being said, thank you to River Laurent. Just when I think you can not top a previous book, you go and do it in the most spectacular fashion possible. This is why you have a fan for life in me. As an avid reader, of romance, that is saying something regarding your overall awesomeness.
I try immensely hard never to give away any part of the plot, so that I do not ruin it for reader's. That being said, here it goes...

Dane and Robert are long-time friends and spend an evening having drinks together. Rob is marrying an ex of Dane's and there's a situation that Rob just doesn't know how to handle. He is sure his fiancée, Catherine, is still in love with Dane and that she's going to go back to him. Dane assures him that their relationship was nothing serious, just based on sex. Besides, Rob has nothing to worry about because he has a fiancée. Oops! Now it's time to get busy and find a fiancée. His secretary, Anna, needs to know just what he wants. What should she look like? What level of intimacy? Savannah works for a problem solver agency, Just Right and enjoys the job since she can be a different person, acting out a different life each time she gets a call. Playing a fake fiancée is one of her favorites, but it becomes a job that takes her back to the past when she sees that the man she's engaged to is a former fling of hers. In fact, he was more than a fling to her. He's the man she gave her virginity to, but he never called her back. Dane recognizes her immediately and can't keep his eyes off of her. Savannah produces the contract that details their limits and obligations to keep things professional. But with their history, lines are crossed and old feelings are rediscovered. They are a romantic and caring couple, even though it's all a farce. Oh? Catherine provides angst for all three of them until Dane gets the backbone to tell her that she's living a fantasy and to remind her who she really loves. River has written a wonderful book that creates and holds its mood, pace and form from the first page to the last. The ending is touching and the epilogue points to a bright future!

Unexpectedly, Robert in a drunken moment reveals how worried he is that his fiancée is still in love with Dane. Dane says he has his own fiancée and that he will bring her to the wedding! However, he first has to find one....a fiancée that is. So like any self-respecting businessman, he gets his personal assistant to organise him a fake fiancée. Never in his wildest dreams, did he think it would be his Savvy who rocked up for the job😍
Savannah is hired to do a job, when she realises that Dane is her intended client for the upcoming weekend away, she promises herself she will act like the professional she is. Things take a turn, and things get steamy rather quickly💕
A great second chances story about the one person who got away, with a chance to rectify it in the present. Steamy story with a few ups and downs, which was expected when attending an ex’s wedding and Savannah being all around sassy which kept things light and humorous at times❣️

Dane was out with his best friend from college Robert who is marrying Dane’s ex, suddenly Robert starts to cry he believes that his fiancée still has feelings for Dane but Dane said no way then he told Robert that he had a fiancée so Dane had definitely put his foot in his mouth to make his friend feel better but now he has a problem he doesn’t have a fiancée so what’s he going to do?. The next day he goes into work he speaks to his secretary about needing a fiancée and she knew who to call his secretary is a miracle worker and if everything goes well she will be getting a big bonus for Christmas. Savannah works for Just Right a Agency that caters to men or women who need a fake fiancée a fake best friend etc for a couple of days but now she is off to see a new client to be his fake fiancée, when Savannah heard the clients name she knew it couldn’t be the same man that took her virginity a long time ago. When the client walked in Savannah got the shock of her life it was her Dane the one who took her virginity but never called her back. I ❤️ Savannah she was a spitfire that’s for sure there were also some lol moments, fantastic story I ❤️ it and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Dane's best friend is marrying one of his ex girlfriend's and worries that she will leave him for Dane. So Dane asks his assistant if there's a service to use to get someone to be his pretend fiancé. What he didn't count on though was for another ex to be the woman sent to help him during the wedding events. Savannah is stunned when she sees its Dane that man the she gave her virginity to but left her behind to pursue his dreams. She knew it was going to be hard but made a point of making sure he understood its a business arrangement. However once they are there for the wedding events everything goes out the window and things quickly become real. Will Dane see that Savannah is the one for him? Will Savannah give him another chance at her heart?
This is a great story that once I started I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this to any book lover.

I had to remind myself that this was in fact a fake story, that this was fiction and that is what let me continue with the story and enjoy it. I have hit or misses with River's books and this one was kind of in between. So Dane takes Savannah's virginity and then splits, yeah dude total douche move. So here we are he needs a fake relationship when he tells a friend of his that he will go to a friend of his wedding, this so called friend is marrying an ex of his (yeah this a soap opera) Anyhoo back to Dane so he asks his secretary to get him a date and someone that is not his preferred type... However he enters Savanah and she claims she will be a professional - yeah that so did not last and she yup you guessed it pretty much jumped in the sack with him..and then we have some drama, and yes we have laughs and I am not gonna tell you more but you be the judge in how you feel about it, I am still deciding.

When your fake fiancee turns out to be a former fling...........nothing can go wrong here right???
Pretend You're Mine is the first book I have read by River Laurent. The story-line was interesting and I thought held a lot of promise. The characters were nicely developed and had some depth and emotion to them. I did laugh at Dane as the poor/rich guy just could not help getting himself into situations that were so ridiculously funny.
I did have a few issues with the book as I thought there was a to much drama, some of the details were forever changing, some of the sex scenes just did not do it for me while others were steaming up the Kindle and it could have used a good editing to par down the number of pages. Overall I did find myself skimming parts while others I enjoyed reading. For me this story was okay but it did not live up to its promise completely.

Needing a fake fiancée to appease his friend Robert, that he's not still in love with Catherine the one he intends to marry, Dane finds one through an agency specialising in this field. However his past again comes back to haunt him when he finds out its Savannah, another former fling. The attraction is mutual, both having changed since they last met.Throw in that other former ex
trying to sabotage her own wedding & poor Dane is at a loss to do for his friend.
The only annoying part for me was the repeated angst with our protagonists not expressing their feelings for the other. They kept stuffing it up continually. I'm sure this was intentional but at times it was a bit OTT. Other than that I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Sexy Fake Fiancé/Second Chance Story
I loved this storyline. River combined well these two troupes. The storyline keeps you interested to find out how the events will finally play out. Dane is a wealthy player that is tired of the ride but doesn’t know how to get off. His best friend wants him at his wedding but only if he’s bringing a girlfriend. In walks Savannah or Savvy. She is an “actress” that fills in for whatever the client needs. In Dane’s case a fake fiancé. Except Dane and Savvy know each other and have been ignoring feelings for each other. Circumstances will throw them together until they can’t resist each other pull. The hero and heroine are well developed and entirely believable within the story. There’s some very hot sexy scenes between these two. Loved the book and recommend it.

This is a wonderful, entertaining and emotional read. Dane’s best friend Robert is getting married to Charlotte, an ex-girlfriend of his. Robert thinks that she still has feelings for Dane, but Dane assures him that he doesn’t have feelings for her. So, to make his friend comfortable he tells him he has a fiancé too and would be bringing her to the wedding with him. So, Dane asks his assistant to hire a professional to accompany him to the wedding. When he meets the young woman hired to be his fake fiancé, he is stunned to see its Savannah from his hometown and with whom he had a one night stand . As feelings develop between them, they try to keep things on a professional level. A well written storyline and awesome characters. One of those books that is hard to put down.

Loved loved this book
Dane needs a fake fiancé for a wedding he is going to his best friend Robert’s wedding Roberts soon to be wife Catherine used to go out with Dane and Robert informs Dane he thinks she still has feelings for him hence fake fiancé is needed. Savannah gets the call to be fake fiancé for Dane except they already know each from way back. There is still a spark between them from the beginning but Savannah tries to keep it professional as she already has had her heart broken by Dane before and she doesn’t want that to happen again. As it turns out Catherine keeps flirting with Dane and isn’t getting that he is not interested. The lead up to the wedding is when the sparks really start to fly between Dane and Savannah. I loved this book a brilliant read. lots of hot steamy sex scenes

Good simple romance but torrid
I liked the original idea: Dane must find a fake fiance to make sure that the future wife of his best friend does not let him fall in front of the altar to flee with him. The fake fiancée sent by an agency is Savannah who had lost her virginity with him before he ever contacted her again.
So between the best friend to protect, the ex girlfriend, and the fake fiancee, Dane must juggle his feelings, while Savannah does not want to fall back under his spell.
The story is well written, torrid, simple and I liked the characters, except for Catherine who seems to push a little too far her doubts before her wedding.

Absolutely adored this story. I loved Savannah and Dane together. They are funny with a snarky side. They are both charming and the chemistry between them is fantastic. The story is extremely well written with beautiful support characters. They just added to the story and didn't distract you. The length of the story is really good. Not so short you feel like you are missing something and not so long that it feels dragged out. It didn't do like some do where they repeat information about someone over and over. It is definitely worth reading and doesn't disappoint.

I really liked this one! It is unfortunate that Dane's best friend Robert is marrying Dane's ex girlfriend Catherine who may still be in love with Dane? So to help his lovelorn friend, Dane tells him he has a fiancee and will bring her to the wedding. His secretary hires a fake fiancee who turns out to be someone he knew before his business success. Dane and his fake fiancee Savannah still have their intense attraction for each other and no matter what, they can't keep their hands off each other. Steamy and intensely sexual with some backplay involved so be aware. Mature readers please!

This is a page turner for me. I did not know why it took me this long to read this. I have one complaint though, I wanted to know what was on the MMC's mind immediately after the FMCs. I thought it would all be the FMCs turn. But I guess, its to keep you guessing what was on the other person's mind. The author sure knows how to keep the readers in suspense. I loved the MCs, they are so perfect together.

Pretend You're Mine was a great story. The plot was great, it was filled with many emotions. The story was written well, River Laurent did a great job on it. Savannah and Dane were strong characters. I enjoyed their story. What was supposed to be simple and temporarily turned into something so much more. Dane and Savannah had a few bumps along the way but these two were made for each other. The attraction was strong between them and their chemistry was sexy. They were just great together.
