I’m not really sure how I feel about this one. The sex scenes were very exciting, but the story was... odd. I skimmed a fair bit of it, which is maybe why I didn’t get that into it.

Princess Aya of Norvangir lives with her horrible uncle, King Vengar. The king killed her parents in front of her and even killed his own three sons so they couldn’t take the throne from him. He is a terrible ruler and because of all the rotten things he’s done Kazriel has been awoken. Kazriel is the guardian of all and he only wakes up when he must unleash his rage on someone. Aya may not have been cruel like her uncle but she did just sit there while he did the horrible things he did. Kazriel believes she should be punished for sitting back and doing nothing. I don’t normally like these kind of books but I really did like this one.

Princess Aya has been hiding in her tower hiding from the truth at how her people are suffering at her uncle’s hand. Kazriel is a god and was awakened by the peoples cries. He now plans to publicly punish Aya before she will be given the throne. Will he teach how to be a proper Queen and treat her people as they should be? Fast-paced read with lots of drama and plenty of steam. I loved it!

This is a prime example of “judging a book by it’s cover” because that is the sole reason, I snagged this one up. I went in completely blind, quickly became confused, so I backed up and read the blurb. 😊 The premise is that a spoiled princess (Aya) has been hiding away as her people were torture/starved by her evil uncle (King Vengar) when their guardian/God (Kazriel) returns. He swiftly punishes the King, then starts to train/punish the princess so she’ll grow up to be a good leader. There’s a trigger warning, but if you’re used to dark romance genre, nothing is too OTT awful. Aya is mostly “punished” through sex dreams which she seems ok with, and she was quite a bitch, so I don’t think anyone will be too bothered by her treatment.

This is while 3 starving young girls are about to be torture/maimed…
“Yum yum yummy!” Aya sang to herself, popping a strawberry into her mouth. “Oh, so good, mmhmm yummm.” She reached for another fruit treat, but before she could touch it, a heavy banging at the door startled her away from the bowl.

And when she’s called on her shit…
“What right do you have to dignity when you drank chocolate while your subjects were branded and destroyed?” “Better them than me.”

The story was odd, and there wasn’t much of a plot. Nothing was really developed; it read more like a series of events strung together with sex. I did like the characters, IMO Aya redeems herself, and Kazriel was alright. He did love her, although their love just kind of poofed into existence. The setting was confusing. She’s the future queen of the city of Lokheim, but he’s the guardian of Norvangir which I’m assuming is the planet. I believe she’ll be in charge of the entire world, but everything is handled on a city/kingdom level. The beginning/middle was better, but the ending was rushed, confusing as nothing was really explained, and the plot flipped to a “free love” focus which I think was just a way to add in some group sex. It also leaves several plot holes; one was major as we are returned to the exact same situation that was the major problem earlier. There’s a small epilogue, but it didn’t flush out all the potential issues and left me frustrated w/ tons of ??'s. I know this is smut, but I still like a little plot. And I’m a puzzle gal, and HATE missing pieces.

Broken Princess was fabulous. Of course Loki Renard knows how we all love the spankings but it is the romance and the way the characters just connect to you each other that will keep you reading. The chemistry is present right from the start. I did not want to stop reading. Any now. I look forward to more.

Definitely recommend you to read this. I loved it!

I'm not too sure what I expected, but the book was "okay". The story line was half developed; the characters are exaggerated versions of what they are supposed to represent; and, the villain/antagonist was ????? The ending of the book was such a blur because everything happened so quickly.

In the end, the book sets out what it was supposed to do, but I felt it could have gone through another revision.

I loved the beginning and middle but when you got close to the end. They lost me. I felt like it was rushed and the main male charcter just did a complete 180. Idk. But it was a great read

A heartwarming romance inside of a treatise on leadership. Compelling and a MUST-READ!
Not sure that author Loki Renard meant “BROKEN PRINCESS” to be a commentary on the role of a leader, but it is. “BROKEN PRINCESS” is also the most remarkable love story, original as well as awe-inspiring and not as dark as Renard’s usual fare. Well-written, with phenomenal characters, and a complex and compelling plot, “BROKEN PRINCESS” has all of the elements and feels that those who like their romances to tell a good story along with a good helping of STEAM. (If spanking and explicit scenes are not for you, or your age is not yet reached 18 years, then please find something more to your liking.) For those of you who like to think while being entertained, then “BROKEN PRINCESS” will provide that and more. The princess, who is broken in this masterpiece by Loki Renard, gets lessons in leadership from Kazriel, the deity or God/Man, who has reappeared to end a terror-filled reign of her Uncle and King. She is the only one left from the royal bloodline and needs to learn quickly how to manage people, her government, and develop the skills needed to rule her people better than the tyrant she is to replace. And as luck would have it, Aya chooses the school of hard knocks. Nothing goes smoothly, but she does learn from Kazriel. And as Aya learned, so did I. The lessons were not easy. They included pain, humiliation, and false starts, but Aya becomes a student and learns what she can and changes what needs to be changed so that her Kingdom of Lokheim and her people could prosper. The question is, once Kazriel leaves will Aya be able to maintain her rule over Lokheim. The journey is amazing, with all of the twists a Loki Renard novel usually includes. I voluntarily read an advanced copy of “BROKEN PRINCESS” and this is my voluntary and HONEST review. This one is going into the FAVORITES collection on my Kindle, and I strongly suggest you purchase your copy of “BROKEN PRINCESS” today. Happy pages! 😉

Wow, this was a wild and unique ride. It was a true epic without all the boring parts! We meet Princess Aya on the day her uncle King Vengar is deposed by the great God Katziel. Katziel is furious at the corruption of the throne, and decides its only hope is Aya. But she is uneducated and spoiled, and needs some life lessons before she can claim the throne.

Princess Aya surprises with her arguments when she is taken publicly to atone. Her parents were murdered, she is a woman trying to avoid her uncle's wrath...and besides what can she do? She's about to find out in a brilliant part of the story that I would call The Ghosts of Christmas Past. This book is not very long, but Aya is a surprisingly fleshed out, complex character. And the story is easy to follow but also complex in nature, avoiding cliches for thrilling narrative.

The Katziel character brings up important notions of Gods in society today. Aya and several others complain, why didn't Katziel come forth sooner? Why can't he stay to be sure everything goes well? This quote was meaningful:

“A god must slumber. A god who does not withdraw from humanity becomes nothing more than a hovering mother who never lets her children grow up.”

Katziel also talks about a balance of diety power. Royals have that power too, so to remain would upset the balance. You could use much of what he says and apply it loosely to religion today. I personally found it fascinating and meaningful.

The ending was really wild and I didn't see it coming. But no matter how crazy, it does actually make perverted sense. The royal family is there for its subjects, so everything is fair game, right? It's hard to believe Renard has written yet another enjoyably meaningful, unique story, but it's true. This story reaches standards all authors should strive to meet.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "BROKEN PRINCESS" WOW!!!!! Phenominal interesting, unique, intiguing, captivating, humorous, steamy hot erotic storyline with some very entertaing twists that have you turning page after page.
Princess Aya was a spoiled self centered priviledge young lady and her Uncle Vangir was the King of who ruled with terror to his people he even killed his two sons so they couldn't take over the throne.
King Vangir would hold judgement day in the throne room where he beat, brand, and behead the peasants who did the slightest thing wrong just as he was about to have one if the guards brand a young girl with the letter S on her cheek the billing rattled and the floor rumbled and then Kazreil appeared.
Kazreil was the guardian the people were praying to for help finally showed up saved the you girl and stripped the king of his throne and said he would live out his life with his people.
Kazreil told the Guard to bring Princess Aya to him she was not going to beheld responsible for what her people had been out through so he was going to let the people decide if she was guilty which they did and he stripped and whipped her infront of them.
This was truly a very interesting unique entertaining book you just could put this book so much happened in this story I just the personality of Aya she was feisty, defiant, a little spitfire and she was a match for Kazreil.
This is absolutely a must have book so well worth the read Loki Renard is a very talented creative writer and knows how to make her characters so interesting, captivating, and entertaining. AWESOME AWESOME READ!!!!

Another innovative read by Loki Renard
This is a wonderful cross between a fairy tale and a wonderfully erotic human and Deity collaboration that made this a very erotic read. In a time when the King Vengar who was an evil tyrant who had completely turned his kingdom into a place of cruelty, murder and abject poverty.
The people of the realm have been preying to the deity Kazriel and then desperately calling to him to visit their world and to help them stop the evil ruler that wanted to harm all those around him, however over the years they had never had their prayers answered and yet they had continued to prey to the statue.
Princess Aya had been living under the constant threat of murder and yet she had hidden away in the palace knowing that her people suffered, when Kazriel awakened he felt an affinity to ensure that the future Queen would have a conscience and genuinely care for her people.
This was a wonderful read and I must admit that I enjoyed that fact that it was so very different where the characters were wonderful and the plot had been extremely well written.
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

First of all, let me say this; I hope Loki Renard eventually turns this masterpiece into a series! I want more of this world, the characters, and future generations. Ok, that being said, time for the review of this book. A tyrannical king who has committed every type of cide possible to keep the line of succession from happening.
A princess who's been allowed to live under her Uncle's rule with the merciless rules and laws he's set in place for the kingdom. She's been kept ignorant and unschooled on the responsibilities of her blood to the kingdom. Practically speaking, she's rather like an ostrich; staying hidden from the rest of the kingdom in her own bubble while burying her head under the covers when she's nervous or scared.
A once powerful deity who has tales told of how he came to the rescue and protected a kingdom. Those suffering under their heavy yokes and treated unfairly pray and cry at the his statue daily with no reprieve in sight.
This is the world Loki Renard has created a world with characters so full of personality the entire had me sucked in and enchanted from the very beginning. The adventure, the mysticism, the ultimate good vs. evil was just phenominal.

I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again: Loki Renard never disappoints in her books. Broken Princess is very close to being a fairytale, albeit a very adult and sensual one. If it’s one thing I’ve always admired about Loki, it’s her ability to lift me out of my mundane life to actually experience a different one. I got pulled into this story and I cared about the characters and what happened to them.

Princess Aya has led a sheltered and selfish life under the care of her uncle, the evil king. Aya has also suffered under the king but she has not known the extent of the burdens of the population of the kingdom. The people of the realm are suffering greatly under this evil king and so they go to the cave of their guardian god and beg for help, thus awakening Kazriel. While the king is cast out from his kingdom, it is actually Princess Aya who must suffer Kazriel’s punishments in order to prepare her to rule in justice and compassion. And thus, our story begins...

I enjoyed every moment of this book!

Aya had it all. She was a princess and didn’t not need to worry about anything. Kazriel is the Guardian God that is to protect those of the land. He is heard the cries and has decided to take action. But the princess is the one that will receive all the pain of the people. She is the last in the royal line and must learn how her uncle treated those of her land.

I have to say when Aya spoke up, I agree with her. Where was he? Kazriel came to help his people but he let their cries go for a while. Aya for her part being royal blood pays for the “debt” be feeling the pain of those or her kingdom but is she really learning anything? It was later that she learned humility and despair. But at the same time so did Kazriel learn the deepest of pain. Some parts of the book are a bit funny with her uncle. Aya had more power then she realized and the people did come to love her. It was a bit sad with Kazriel but things turned out right. This story is hot and steamy, a bit scary and kinky. He may have broken her but she sure as heck mastered him.

An erotic fairytale!
by sewsummore

This was a strange tale of a King who was evil, ruthless and without remorse and was overthrown by the country's immortal god Kazriel. In his place was Princess Aya, niece of the former King. Totally unsuited and unprepared to rule, it is left to Kazriel to teach and train her for the task she is to undertake. Her innocence drew him and before long he fell under her spell and impregnated her with his seed. In doing so his strength was lost and he was forced to leave Aya to rule alone. There is more to the story but you will have to read the book. This book may read as a fairy tale, but nothing could be further from the truth. This book incorporates spankings, forced sex, humiliation and erotic behavior that at times is shocking but still these form an intregral part of the story. I enjoyed reading this book and if you are a follower of Loki's and enjoy her books this book will not disappoint.

Loved this dark twisted tale.

This is a fantastic story and such a great read. Princess Aya has been hiding away in her tower, while her wicked uncle the king tortures and starves the people of Lokheim. Her only thoughts are "better them than me" and the people of Lokheim have had enough, so they pray to the guardian God Kazriel to save them. When Kazriel shows up he throws out the king and decides that since princess Aya is the last of the royal bloodline he must reform her and teach her to be a true and proper Queen. In order to do that he must first break the princess. Grab this wonderful book today and find out what kinds of mental and erotic torture Kazriel will use to break the princess. Will her people then deem her worthy of the throne or will it all be in vain? Loved this book and I highly recommend it.

So phenomenally and compellingly dark and twisted, just when I thought I had a handle on this story, it morphed into something more. It is deep and dark, mythical and tragic, but refreshing at the same time. I wanted to hate Aya, but she had some valid points too when she argued that she was a victim too. Kazriel . . . that guy . . . he is a special kind of diety, it took me a while to appreciate him though. The hero's journey that Aya takes in this story is marginalized though because in the end....well, you have to read it,....but I just think if you are going to have such an epic hero's journey for the female, she wouldn't be placed in a subservient role when she has clearly saved herself. You'll see. It's the only negative thing I can say about this otherwise fabulous story that has the heat, the violence, the kink and the love scenes that come alive on the page. Yeah, I don't know if I can emphasize enough how much I recommend that you should be reading this book.

A Dominant God Teaches a Spoiled Princess to be a Proper Queen
Broken Princess is another great, well written story by Loki Renard. It is the story of Aya, although she was born to be Queen, she was a sheltered, selfish princess who ignored the suffering of her people under the ruthless rule of her evil uncle. The deity Kazriel is tired of hearing the suffering of the people and banishes the evil King, but before Aya can become the true Queen she must atone for neglecting her people. Kazriel will teach her humility and compassion via, lots of discipline and scorching sex scenes as only Loki Renard can write, with a strong D/s component but a little heavy on the humiliation. The storyline, characters and world development are brilliantly written. You will not want to put this one down until it is finished.

2.50 Stars. (WW/WM). Kindle Unlimited Edition 158 page novella e-book. The story isn't too bad ; but, it's weird and meandering. Each sex act is used to teach a lesson on fairness or respect for others. Princess Aya is a young self-centered virginal royal with her head in la la land; however, it is her cruel murderous uncle King Vengar who rules the Kingdom. After hundreds of years of hearing the poor peasants of the kingdom supplications, Kazariel, the guardian of justice, a god like being, comes to the kingdom to punish the royals and establish a system that is fair to the peasants. Kazriel exiles the king and and disbands the nobles and punishes Aya using BDSM measures. During the course of this training he is overcome with sexual need and impregnates Aya. The exiled king returns and Aya runs and Kazriel returns as a mortal and kills the king where Aya and Kazariel have babies and happily rule the kingdom.

I absolutely enjoyed reading this deliciously dark Sci-Fi romance with a fairy-tale undertone. The plot is suspenseful with unexpected events & occurrences. The characters are well-developed with variety of traits and different sides to their individual personalities & react with realistic emotional feelings to the situations they find themselves in.
There is: a deviously cruel king & uncle (Vangir), a spoilt but feisty pampered princess kept from the world (Ava), a guardian god with horns called by the cruelly treated people of the kingdom (Kazriel), twists & turns, intrigue, humor, adventure, action, torture, danger, threats, discipline, spanking, dark themes, domination/submission, humiliation, heartache, deceit, manipulations, a unexpected surprise, new laws, romance, declaration, love, contentment, explicit steamy scenes & a satisfying conclusion.

★ She is not above the law either ★

—>>> Princess Aya knows nothing but a way of life by existence at the mercy of her uncle, King Vengar, a crazed and cruel despot. Called from his mountain slumber, Kazriel appears before all the kingdom of Norvangir to deal with the corruption which has run rampant. Aya is given a chance to learn the right ways of ruling under the unrelenting tutelage of her guardian, this deity come to life. Once his purposes with Aya are achieved, however, he returns from whence he came. And Aya is at the mercy of those who would like to knock her off the throne again.

A hot fantasy story of a God whose will has never been so tested by a mere slip of a mortal and a righting of wrongs done.

This story has the basic framework for a fairy tale, it is not a sweet story you would want to read someone at bedtime. Princess Aya is spoiled and selfish and lives a sheltered life in her uncle, the King's, castle. She has no idea how horrible he is and that he is literally an evil king. The subjects desperately need help, and their cries wake the Guardian God, Kazriel. The guardian banished the king, leaving Aya the ruler, his only heir. To endure Aya truly understands compassion, empathy and humility, Kazriel begins his training by baring her publically. While unfair that she has to pay for her uncle's sins, Kazriel can not take the chance that she will grow to become a cruel ruler out of ignorance.

OK so I liked this story and the plot.. Had an instant like to Kaziel and Aya...

I like hot sex books there my thing. But this got very sexy near the end.... And I don't mean fanny flutters sexy... It was hold on am I reading this right type of weird... I was scarlett for her at end. But ye as different and interesting as it was. I feel last few pages true me off.
For one. She's pregnant for last half book. But there's only 1 sentence at last page of epilogue that talks about the baby and even let's us know it was born....
My 2nd peve I hate is. The writer turned him back to been immortal and Aya and the kids will still be Mortal..... That gives me remorse vibes. Like they will die and Karsiel will still be existing. I hate that.

Sometimes you have to be broken to reach your potential. There are Disney princesses and then there’s Aya... The author takes you on an dark, twisted journey that never gives you the hope that there will be a happily ever after ending. I reveled in the punishments, cringed at some of the more brutal moments, hoped for a hero to come to the rescue, but mainly thoroughly enjoyed being swept away to a fantasy place and time where kings, princesses, and gods existed, and the eventual victor will have a lasting impact the kingdom. Thrilling, sizzling, exciting tale - a grown up fairytale where dark and devious lives alongside promise and romance, sometimes at the same time!

I love Loki Renard, so maybe it's fair to consider me biased. She's a solid writer, and I love her sense of humor. "Broken Princess" has all the elements I enjoy about her novels, including, yes, the humor...and the sex. And the spanking. And the sex.

I'm not going to rehash the plot; you can look that up yourself. Short version: sharp-tongued, spoiled princess gets to have sex with a horny god. Or a god with horns; take your pick. As if my achieving lifelong romance and erotic fulfillment wasn't difficult enough, now I gotta be fantasizing about 9 ft tall immortal beings with horns.

LOKI: write more demons, please. Though really, I'll read anything you write. ✿♥‿♥✿

Once upon a time....

In a land far far away, in a kingdom led by a king who ruled with an evil merciless iron
fist...and a princess kept hidden in a turret..and if your expecting a fairytale that is where it ends...
Kazriel has been woken from a long slumber by the cries from the people of the kingdom and he is not happy with what he sees, so he goes bout to set things right.
Aya has been kept a spoilt, sheltered princess who has been kept from the world but she is now called before Kazriel the guardian to atone for the atrocities of the kingdom.
Wow what a hot and deliciously steamy story of Gods and Kings and to how a Princess becomes a Queen...

Aya is no Snow White, but she has an interesting story to tell! WOW! Aya is a princess locked away in her tower oblivious to the peasants misery done by her uncle. One day the deity of their realm Kazriel is awaken from his slumber and invades the kingdom. He is enthralled by Aya and tries to show her to have empathy for her people. Her short reign brings prosperity and peace to the kingdom until one day the evil king returns. No spoilers Their story is scorching hot and Kazriel dominant personality will take down the princess from her pedestal. It is an amazing fantastic story for which I honestly volunteered to review an arc
