Menopause Spirit Guides Belladonna Morose and Mea Culpeppa set about to remind her of the secrets of the ages women have known since the world was new! This is a mystical place where dreams and memories rush in to explain themselves. It takes a while, but Kimberly and the other mortal women are thirsting for this knowledge and to find their place in the future of the planet! Time seems to stand still as each goes on her own journey of self-discovery through encounters with the Goddess and the lives of each other. Kimberly wakes up from a seizure and finds herself at Menopause Ranch, a lovely retreat center where spirit guides instruct and inspire menopausal women to find their goddess within and transform themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually for the work of the second half of their lives. The novel fictionalizes much of the menopausal and goddess material I have read elsewhere (drawing especially heavily on Jean Shinoda Bolen's Goddesses in Every Woman) and, as such, did not provide much in the way of new information or insights (other than the fun exercise of figuring out your age in lunar years). However, it is an enjoyable, accessible, and inspirational package for exploring the transformative work of menopause.
