I loved how kick butt Lucy was. Her ability is cool, but her observation and pickpocket skills are epic. She earned the admiration of all the guys on her sort of team. Sam is my favorite, but I like them all. Lucy was part of a government program that hunted serial killers through unorthodox means. In the course of a case, her sister was kidnapped. When she took matters into her own hands, the woman with a PHD in psychology landed herself in the psych ward. Six months later, government comes calling again, but slightly different team, similar goal. They want her to hunt a killer that has a connection to her. Lucy is awesome, as is her motley group. It's funny, witty, suspenseful and has a little bit of romance. I was amazed at how good it was, in so few pages. I really like this authors work. Strong, smart women that are always underestimated. Blue is still my favorite, from another series, but I'm loving Lucy so far. She keeps getting one over on Noah (FBI Agent that recruited her) and it's hilarious.
I loved this book. It has everything a good mystery should have. It has fantastic characters, a tight plot, and a twist at the end with the perp...plus just a shade of romance. I always love a little romance with my mysteries.
Lucy Bray is a doctor of psychology and a subject of some government science projects. Her twin sister, Gigi, was abducted by a maniacal killer who didn't quite get his job done and left Gigi in a coma. Lucy exacted her revenge and did the exact thing to him and left him in a coma. But that earned Lucy a trip to the psych ward and now everybody is afraid of her.
She has a special power. She can connect emotionally with the victims and the killers as the crimes are being committed. She can get energy from crime scenes and figure out things Columbo can only dream of. In this book, the killers can connect with her, too and it isn't pleasant. She's hooked up with a team of misfit agents, each with colorful pasts of their own. Their jobs vary, but they all want to keep her safe and want to catch the bad guy.
She's called in on a case where there's a copycat killer of the man who tried to kill her sister and is victimizing women who look like her and are wearing red dresses. Sloan's niece has been murdered by this guy and he wants his revenge (Sloan is an agent). It's spring break in Florida and this copycat is stalking his prey and raising his body count. Lucy is determined to stop him no matter what it takes. Sloan wants the same thing and will stop at nothing until justice is served.
This book grabbed me at the beginning and didn't let go. It was intriguing, suspenseful, and had enough action to it to keep me turning the pages. I loved the characters and the story itself was something I envision being made into a thriller movie.
I've been dying to give Kate Allenton five stars on one of her books, but for different reasons, I didn't. This one I did. She earned it. Everything was picture-perfect and everything worked like a well-oiled machine. This is an easy, easy five-star read.
I'm anxious to read the next book in the series.
By the way, I like the cover. It fits the book to a T.
Lucy Bray is a special case. Not only does she live on a psych ward, but she was once a participant in a special project that gave her the ability to track the minds of killers. When a serial killer starts killing girls with her face, Lucy is brought in to add her special skills to the case.
This story is full of mind games and mystery. The heroine is technically crazy, and very dangerous, although when you consider all she has been through, it is rather understandable.
It’s a unique premise for a series, and the suspense mingled with the crazy smart doctor’s thoughts made for a mesmerizing story. There’s not a lot of romance in this book, but there is definitely potential for it later!
For those who enjoy paranormal suspense (like Kay Hooper), this book will be an enjoyable read!
This was VERY different from what I expected. It is a hell of a ride.
Lucy, the protagonist, has been committed to a criminal mental ward after putting a serial killer in a coma instead of simply arresting him. He had damaged Lucy's sister badly enough that she was in a coma and Lucy returned the favor.
Due to some government experimentation (not fully explained) she has a limited ability to tie into the emotions (and sometimes thoughts) of attackers and their victims. She also is a skilled fighter, a skilled pickpocket, and is very intelligent.
She gets temporarily released from the ward to help a team track another serial killer. Of young women who look (or are made to look) like Lucy.
Lots of tension. Lots of action. Some erotic tension.
Really good stuff -- so I bought the rest of the series.
This book has more errors than the others I have read by this writer. In this one, the comma pops up in weird and unexpected places, and hardly ever correctly. POV shifts in areas, and if she was part of a government program, she wouldn’t be in the psych ward. They would have swept everything under the rug and kept her as an asset. Sloan was thrown in and not explained and there were probably too many characters to try and keep track of. But I will read the next book even if the mistakes that will inevitably be there give me a headache, because I want to know what happens next.
I like this author’s take on the Psychic genre. I’ve read two of her other series. I forgot to leave a review or rating, so came back after reading the 3rd in this series. I like that it is a Psychic suspense with a little romance. I love that it’s not full of sex scenes but seems to going to have a complete mystery with a few storylines and the romance of them running through the series. It’s about the heroine with the secondary characters having their own storylines in each book.
This book could have been really good, which is how it got 3 stars instead of two. The plot is interesting and the writing is good. Sadly, the MC can be really stupid. She runs off without backup, tries to trick her handlers, and plays mind games. In other words, she throws herself into danger way more than she should.
I am not sure if I want to read the next book or not.
The action starts on page one and doesn’t stop until the last paragraph. The main character is most decidedly flawed, but it only makes her more interesting. The plot is sort of Dexter meets The Silence of the Lambs and is on my short list of favorite thrillers. Definitely a must-read if you like FBI vs serial killer novels with a twist.
This was a fast paced thriller with a different type of hero. A scientific experiment gone wrong or right depending on your point of view. When their experiment “Lucy” took justice into her own hands the government put her in a psychiatric ward, that is until they needed her again.
Stalked Justice is an enthralling beginning to a new series! I was barely able to put it down! This is a romance wrapped in suspense with a little bit of paranormal to tie it up. I look forward to seeing where to romance leads.
I really love the sass and snark of Lucy. This was a great story and her attitude just made it better. I really loved a woman hunting down serial killers using their own minds against them. Really great read and makes me want to know who she is hunting next.
Very unusual characters who make up a team seeking a serial killer. Very interesting storyline. I'm buy second in series now. I want to know more about the team members special abilities.
This is probably more of a 3 to 3.5 star book. It started off strong and entertaining, but the last two chapters it became irritating and predictable ... generic chit lit; with confusing dialog. All and all, this book was pretty fun, I certainly see myself giving the next book in the series a try.
This book was a page turner. I started it and didn't stop until I was finished reading it. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because of the multiple errors throughout. Book 2 here I come.
I was amazed by how much I really enjoyed this book. I had decided to just skim it to get it off my list, and to my surprise I was sucked in. Yes, I’m on to the next book in the series.
If you want a thriller with tough edges this is for you. It was too grim for my tastes. Too graphic in depicting violence and hate. If you want that visceral reaction this is for you.
This was a good book. I loved the characters and the story line was something so different than anything I have read lately. I would definitely recommend this book. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 🤓❤️📚❣️❣️
What a great series! Catching criminals using remote viewing and psychics! A government program that gets results in cases where there are no clues to go on. Can’t wait to read the next in the series!
Lucy takes part in an experiment that helps her find killers. When she uses it to find the man who kidnaps her sister, she gets locked in a psych ward.
