Rate this book
Midnight Train takes the reader on an emotional journey. It is the story of a Croatian boy who grows up in Europe during World War II and who experiences the decades of conflict that follow.
The book is filled with lessons about life, war, politics, religion, family, and love. It is a story about a time that many people have never heard of or have since forgotten.
Midnight Train is as relevant and timely today as ever. The book discloses what went on behind the Iron Curtain that was drawn right in the heart of central Europe and how these events relate to issues taking place across the globe today. It is filled with stories that are told with humor, wisdom, and heart-felt inspiration.
This book is a genuine "must read" for anyone interested in the lessons of the past and what they have to teach us about events taking place in our world today.

I really enjoyed this book. My grandfather was Croatian and I have always been very much in love with the country . I thought this book was easy to read, very engaging. We never heard about what went on when Yugoslavia was established. It’s not in the history books either. I was grateful for the knowledge and insight into the Croatian struggle. Close to my heart, Hrvat .
