This was a classic office romance and I really enjoyed it. It was an intense story with likable main characters, explosive chemistry and just enough kink to keep things interesting :)

Lochlan never really believed his long time personal assistant and right hand would really follow through on her promise to retire. So when he comes back after a trip overseas, he isn’t happy to find his assistant heading out the door and leaving him with a fresh faced and beautiful young woman with limited experience and innocent vulnerability radiating off her. Keeping her around while battling his intense attraction to her becomes harder with each passing day.

May knows that Locklan wasn’t convinced she would be a good fit for the job, but with her sick mom and her two nieces depending on May to keep a roof over their heads, May is determined to prove him wrong. They eventually settle into the perfect working pair and everything is great until their personal lives bleed into their profession.

I loved the sexual tension between these two. I loved when Lochlan was quick to admit his feelings for May and the fact that she was it for him. She was the one and from then on, he set out to make her and her ready made family, his number one priority. This was sweet, sexy and entertaining. The whole Dom/sub thing was never excessive and was pretty hot, tbh. Lochlan was not the arrogant or bossy and controlling type of Dom. He was a nice mix of protective, caring and alpha. I liked knowing that May was different and his reaction and feelings to her were special and meaningful. Plus points for that.

Every sexual relationship he'd had in the past had involved some tenet of BDSM because he desired it. It was what drove him sexually, turned him on. With May, he didn't need it. He wanted to explore all of that with her, but it wasn't necessary. He ws prefectly content to make love to her slow and steady, and for hours on end without a single bell or whistle.

Memorable Moment: The few times we get to interact with the rest of the Collins were a nice touch but the prologue and epilogue with Pop Pop were the sweetest moments! I loved how it all tied together and kept the family tradition going.

Would I recommend? Yes. This was a hot quickie. It's part of a series but can be read as a stand alone.

I so love the Wilder Irish series. Mari Carr knows the right way to write a story that not only holds your interest but keeps you asking for more. Lochlan and May's story was both romantic and heart-wrenching. The man who is convinced that the Collins Curse will never hit him and the woman who has everything to lose getting involved with him.

May is nothing if she's not stubborn. She doesn't know how to ask for help. She shoulders all responsibility at work and at home and feels like there is no one that she could bother to help her. As Lochlan keeps asking for more and more from her, she can't help but start to feel the strain of being wonder woman. One night changes it all and the part of her life she that she was hiding is out in the open. Lochlan can't do enough to try to help her and she keeps pushing him away. She can't afford an affair with a man that is not looking for a happily-ever-after, who could steal her heart and not give his. She comes with a ready made family, she's vulnerable, she can't stay away from him. Especially when he fulfills all her fantasies.

Lochlan gets the hives when he hears the word “kids”. Until he meets Chloe and Jenny. His heart expands and he knows that he'll do whatever it takes to protect them and May. And, as for May, from the moment she lowered her eyes and said “yes, sir” he knew he had his work cut out keeping himself in check around her. But, the more they work together, the more he finds out, the Warrior comes out and it's time for him to go into protection mode and do whatever it takes to get her to see just what her and her family have become to him. The curse hit and hit fast and hard … now to get May to see the curse as a blessing … get her to trust him … get her to fall in love with him as he has her.

I adore stories where the man has to work to get the girl, where his heart is being worn on his sleeve. And, that is usually the case with the Wild and Wilder Irish series. They have to work for the love of a good woman but, when they finally earn it, it's theirs forever. You know that the Collins' always rally around the pub and it was no different here. I love Pop Pop and his words of wisdom, his stories about the past and the love that he has for him family. I am not looking forward to the day when Ms. Carr decides that he has to leave us. But, I always look forward to the next book in this series. Mari Carr just has a way with words, with writing romance and with giving us the perfect happy ending.

An office romance. Although H didn't like how young h was as his assistant when he saw her at the first time, they still had a professional relationship. Then it changed when he found how much burdens she carried.

I liked how loving H's family members were to each other, and even to h when they didn't know her at all. Although H seemed to be cold at first, he did everything to help h.

The only thing I didn't like was how stubborn h was. I got how independent she had to be for bearing so much burdens; still, H was so sweet, couldn't she just accept his kindness? Fortunately, H was stubborn and determined as well, he just went for h no matter how she fight her feelings toward him.

Can be read as standalone.

I thought this story started out strong, but I wish it would have fleshed out the characters more. I don't feel like the story was as sensual as the synopsis made me think it would be, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing.

May and Lochlan could have developed a great relationship and at times I really felt they did, but then days or weeks would skip and we had to just assume that their professional and personal life was developing. For someone as staunch against marriage and kids as Lochlan was, I wished we could have seen a more slow progression of him deciding that May, marriage, and children is what he really wanted. I did like how he was so willing to help her and her family even before they became romantically involved. And his family were gems (and the focal point of the other books in this series- which I've yet to read) who I definitely wouldn't mind getting to know better.

Overall it was an enjoyable read, but I would have liked another 30-40 pages in order to get a better grasp on their relationship.

Listened via Scribd because I don’t have enough time to read but I wanted more stories in my head😂

Scribd doesn’t always have the top selection but I enjoying pushing myself to keep trying new authors.

This was sweet and sexy. Not too over the top with bdsm, think lighter than 50 Shades and that was TAME!

Narrators were okay but still tolerable.

Wouldn’t have read if I had the time but glad I listened.

Another awesome Wilder Irish book! I so love this family! May Flowers was just everything that I was expecting. Lochlan and May were so great together and complimented each other perfectly.

Lochlan has always sworn off marriage and kids. He doesn’t believe in the family “curse” of falling hard and fast in love. He’s kind of always done things his own way. He’s happy running his business, living alone and having the occasional hook up with someone who knows the deal and is ok with it. He’s into some BDSM but it’s not a heavily done deal. When he ends up with a new assistant, one he didn’t hire, his world gets thrown off balance pretty quickly.

May is a woman who is struggling to hold it all together just to survive. She wants her new job with Lochlan to work out so she can get her personal life in order. She’s not one to ask for help but lately she’s started to drown in all of the pressure from her life. While she’s attracted to Lochlan she wants to make sure they stay professional and never cross any lines. She doesn’t plan on him wanting her, let alone wanting to help her get through all of the hard stuff she’s going through.

May Flowers was such a great book. I have loved this family since I first read the Wild Irish series. Now with reading the second generation, I’m loving them even more. Not only do we get glimpses of some past characters (Pop Pop being my favorite), but there’s also the fun in seeing how much each kid resembles traits of their parents. While Lochlan is his own man with his own personality, he reminded me a lot of his dad, Will, as well. May was the perfect compliment to that as she has traits that reminded me of Keira too.

While this is part of a series, it can definitely be read as a stand alone as well. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

I adore series that follows a family, and one of my absolute favorite is Mari Carr's Wild Irish/Wilder Irish series. The latest, May Flowers, is a wonderful addition to this family saga.

Lochlan Wallace follows in his father's dominant footsteps (and I LOVE me some Will Wallace from Come Monday). A confirmed bachelor with his own company, he's promptly put on his rear by his young, submissive brand new PA, May Flowers. What follows is wonderful story of a man who was born to protect and wrap those he loves and considers his in his arms. And of a woman who has an inner core of strength, who his compelled to do so much on her own for her family, often to the detriment of her own needs.

As in all of these books, you get a mix of emotions. Lochlan and May are hot and sexy together, but there scenes are also full of laughter and tenderness. There were a few times I teared up ...none more so then in scenes with Pop Pop. Like in all of the books, Pat Collins, steals every scene he is in. He has become a grandpa to all of us that read these books, in my mind.

If you love this series, you'll fall in love with Lochlan and May. If you are new to the series, I hope you pull up a stool at Pat's Pub and take some time to connect with the Collins family.

May Flowers by Mari Carr is book is book 5 in the Wilder Irish Series. This is the story of Lochlan and May. I have not yet read the previous books so for me this was easily a standalone book.
Lochlan has grown his business to be one of the richest one around and of course making him rich too. Although he has strong family roots he enjoys the playbook life. Then his assistant who is an older women who he adores says she is retiring hires May to take her place. May is a struggling women trying to raise her two nieces and take care of her mother who is starting to lose her mind to dementia...so her plate is full. But she needs the demanding job because of the great pay and she will try to work through her attraction with Lochlan. Lochlan fights he need for May becuase he has a big not fraternization policy but it only takes a couple of weeks before that goes out the door and he knows that May is the women that he has been looking for.
Loved their story...could not put it down. Will be looking for more books by this author!!

I loved reading Wild Temptation, Mari Carr’s latest Wilder Irish book. I have loved the Collins right from the beginning and I love that this author is writing these heartwarming and totally sexy stories of the next generation. I really enjoy the way the story begins with Pop Pop and baby Lochlan and then move to him as an adult. May Flowers’ introduction to Lochlan put a smile on my face and I loved the chemistry between them. Lochlan really showed his big Collins heart with the way he handled May’s family situation and trying to take care of her. My heart melted at how he immediately embraced and loved her nieces. Besides being super sweet and caring, Lochlan was so dominant and hot when it came to sex. Not only did May get scorched under Lochlan’s hands, so did my ereader. Another fantastic story and I cannot wait for the next one.

Oh my lawd! I love this family. I have days where I want to give up my own for theirs. This book made me realize why. From people in the original series coming into this book, to new characters, which I love.

It has hot steamy sex, smartly timed snarky comments, to the general cherished love aspect that is normal requirement of Mari Carr.

Tears, yes. Laughter, completely. Hot, needing a fan moments, duh!

Wanna not be disappointed? Read the book. Actually start at the beginning. Hell, go all the way 'Come Monday'. You'll fall in love with the oldest kids and meet pop pop in his "early" years.

This series makes my heart happy. Mari Carr’s ability to make you FEEL her characters is a testament to her talent. The Collins family of Baltimore is one you will wish to be a part of, I know I certainly do.

This story is sweet, funny, sexy, hot and smart. Mari makes each story unique without being predictable. Each person of this family has their own strength despite what are true-life hurdles. How she pulls us into the story’s world where we get to come out at the end in a better place (even when she makes us cry) is something that not every author can pull off. This is what makes her books always an auto-buy for me.

This book is part of the Wilder Irish series but it can definitely be read as a stand alone novel. That said, it is by far, my favorite of the series so far! Considering how steamy some of the scenes are, it seems surprising that I would also label this as a sweet feel good romance. But seeing how Lochlan changes after meeting May was just unbelievably sweet and romantic. He went from a man who never wanted a relationship and couldn't even say the "K" word (kids) to wanting everything with May. Looking forward to more in this series because I just couldn't put this one down and fortunately there are still more single people left in the Collins clan!

This was a beautiful mix of sweet and sexy. The characters were well-written--May was equal parts sweet, smart, hardworking, and broken. She was strong but vulnerable. Once Lochlan got his head out of his ass, he was a delicious book boyfriend. I really enjoyed this book. Would read again.

Office romance with alpha boss trying to resist his young, sweet assistant and of course, BDSM. This was like a Harlequin Presents amped on steroids and I loved the crackycheesyness of it all.

Loch, our workaholic hero, is totally flustered when his former assistant hires a very young, very sweet, and very submissive PA named May Flowers. The cheekiness of the story cracks me up. Gotta love a hero who has ESP for submissiveness and a heroine who can carry off the name "May Flowers". May is also the sole caretaker for her orphaned nieces and elderly mom. She should have been named "Snow White".

In a Disney movie minute, Loch goes from vowing to drive May out of his office to wanting to sweep her up in his strong arms. This isn't insta-love so much as ista-protection. Loch doesn't just want to screw May, he wants to build a super big castle and moat around her delicate self. Big props to May for standing up to him:
You are a born protector, Lochlan. You would have been a knight in the Middle Ages. You were a normal, demanding boss right up until you walked into my crappy apartment the other night. Then, boom. The chain mail went on and now you’re stepping in to save the day. I’m not a damsel in distress. I know my life is pretty shitty right now, but you know what? It’s my life. My shit. I’ll deal with it.
Thattagirl, May! Turns out Loch is part of an enormous extended Irish family and is known by all to have a fear of the "K" word - kids. Yet he tackles May's complicated family situation without missing a beat. How Loch uses his dominance to break down May's stubbornness and anxiety issues is not just hot but an added nuance to the usual boss-secretary trope.
Never, not once in his thirty-one years, had he felt like this. Felt this overpowering need to take over. Which was ridiculous when he considered it. After all, he was the CEO of a large company, a dominant lover by nature, a man used to being in charge. All of that came natural. But that wasn’t what he wanted here. This was something so much more primal, unstoppable. He wanted May. Wanted her body, her heart, her soul. Wanted the two little girls down the hall to stay there forever, wanted to make more kids with her, wanted to shoulder all her problems for her. He never wanted her to sleep on a couch again. Nothing but soft beds and feather pillows would be good enough for her. Lochlan wanted everything he’d spent a lifetime avoiding.
This was an unexpected romp down memory lane - I had forgotten about reading Mari Carr's Collins siblings series years ago and it was fun to find the next generation just as hot and romantic as ever.

This book is going down as one that I read in one sitting. I literally could not put this book down, for any reason! It was so amazing, that as soon as I was done, I had to go back and read it again!

Lochlan Wallace is a driven man. With a little help from family, he has built his tech company from the ground up, into an international company. Now, the woman who helped him build it all, is leaving him. Despite begging and pleading on his part for her to stay, his admin assistant is retiring. In his refusal to admit defeat, he left complete control of the hiring of her replacement to her, and he doesn't even meet her before her first day. Boy, was he thrown for a loop! He, the bachelor for life, determined never to marry or have kids, doesn't know what to think, or what to do! It's phenomenal!

May Flowers is a woman who just can't get ahead. For years, she has had the world on her shoulders, and with each passing day, it just gets heavier. She thinks she has finally caught a break with this new job, but then she meets her boss. Sparks fly, and heat ensues. He is not what she expected in a boss, and doesn't react to the things that are thrown at her the way she thinks he should.

I don't think I can accurately portray the love I have of the Collins Clan. Each new book, each new relationship, builds on the strength of commitment and love of family that they are brought up on. The strong ties, loyalty, and unconditional love that they have for each other, makes for some really amazing books. May Flowers is one of those books that is going to stick with the reader. There is just enough naughty to balance out the sweet, just enough drama to keep the happy from being overpowering. This book, this series, is definitely one that is on the top of my "recommend" list for any of my friends!

Four and a half stars.

May Flowers by Mari Carr is part of her ongoing Wilder Irish series (a spinoff from the original Wild Irish series). Wilder Irish is the next generation of the Collins family, under the loving eye of patriarch Patrick Collins.

This is one is about Lochlan, who is unsettled and unhappy when his long-time assistant makes good on her promise to retire, leaving a newly hired, fresh-faced blonde beauty in her place. Lochlan has NEVER been a creepy boss and has no intention of dating anyone, much less his far too attractive employee. He is intent on keeping that promise to himself and does manage to maintain his distance until the vulnerability May hides so well peeks through one day when one of her many life responsibilities intrudes on her work day.

May is used to shouldering burdens gracefully, alone. Because that's what one had to. Soldier on. Lochlan strives to show her that maybe sometimes it is okay to lean, and that letting down one's guard doesn't necessarily mean ceasing to carry on, but simply acknowledging that sometimes we need help, and that accepting that help makes us stronger, not weaker. He's had the blessing of a big, loving family, and he wants to share that comfort with her.

Mari Carr's May Flowers is incredibly sweet and scorching hot. Ms Carr's stories not only rev you up, they fill your heart and put a smile on your face.

While May Flowers stands alone just fine, you'll want to read all of the Wilder Irish series (and likely all of the Wild Irish series as well). Clear your calendar and get ready to read!

Mari Carr needs a standing ovation!!! I didn’t think anything could beat March Winds for me but this is a close second. Maybe it’s the name Patrick LOL.

Patrick “Lochlan” Wallace and May Flowers are the perfect couple. My favorite parts of the series are always with Pop Pop and how the books start off with Pop Pop and the grandchild then at the end with his wall of pictures (always gets me tearing up). The book had the perfect mix of dominant/submissive, romance, drama and always always always lots of laughs and love from all the family!

Lochlan’s sneaky assistant is retiring. He is stubborn and doesn’t want her to retire so he ignores her possible replacements. Sally then hires May Flowers. There is something about her that is calling to him. I won’t ruin any good parts but I love how he is so adamant about never wanting the “k” word but when May’s life includes them he is the perfect protector/”VIKING”.
I love when he gives May an ultimatum about the word FINE and she then tells him she’s fine!!!
Thank you Mari for giving us another wonderful book in Wilder Irish. I can’t wait to see who is the next to fall for “the curse”.

Fall in love so hard if leaves bruises!!!

I love to read stories that I just cannot put the book down, I devoured this one in one sitting!
I don’t how else to say that I just love and adore the way Mari Carr tells a story. The Collins clan is like family to those of us who have been following this series. May Flowers in the next story in the continuation of the next generation.

Lochlan and May were made for each other, relationships take work and theirs was no exception. Lochlan is dominant and sees May’s submissive side and it calls to him. She has had to be in charge of her family and yearns to be able to let go and have someone take charge of her.

A battle of wills begins, much drama ensues, kinky fantasies by both, raging chemistry, just so much to keep us glued to the pages. I loved how Lochlan went into protective mode to help May and her little family. Seriously recommend this story, if you haven’t picked up any of the Wild Irish or Wilder Irish, make sure you do, you will fall in love time and time again.

DNF @ 55% - there’s several ideas in here I like but none were done very well. This lacks depth in all areas. The “submissive” thing was weird. Too forced and dwelled upon to be believable. Telling all his friend and family that she’s submissive before he’s even established any relationship at all with her made me cringe. It would be weird later too, but discussing her like that before he knows her at all bugged me. I feel like that kind of stuff is something you figure out over time and isn’t something you tell your bros about. It removed any all intimacy and tension. I also was bothered that his kinks aren’t exclusive to the h… this is just how he does The Sex. Insert “innocent” h here. Except again she watered even that part down. There’s nothing innocent about the h except that she’s never been spanked by a lover.

I liked the bulldozing… but again there’s no depth to it or real feelings… and he’s very bland and respectful about it. These themes are boring if your gonna PC it to death 🤷🏼‍♀️

Lochlan Wallace was everything I hoped he would be: smart, bossy, protective, and sure of his future - until a woman came along that knocked him off his axis. I loved the way Lochlan grew and changed throughout the book and was especially happy when his father, grandfather, and cousin were all able to impart some wisdom to help him find perspective on his relationship with May. I love the characters Mari Carr has created in her Wild Irish and Wilder Irish series and especially enjoy the close family ties that she highlights in each book. The way May fought to keep Lochlan from helping her solve her problems was equal parts admirable and irritating. I found myself wanting to jump into the book and tell her she needed to be willing to accept help, that she didn’t have to take care of everything alone. This story sucked me in and kept me coming back for more, waiting with baited breath to see how Lochlan would pull out his happy ending.

I absolutely love the Collins family!! I’ve missed a few books here and there but picking this one up made me realize how much I enjoyed reading about them. And this one didn’t disappoint at all. I loved the little touches and inserts of all the different family members. I especially loved the scenes with Pat (Pop Pop) those we so sweet andjust kept with the traditions of the previous books.

I loved how Lochlan and Mays relationship was a steady but fast one. Lochlan a self proclaimed bachelor has his world upended when his long time assistant retires and hires a young and beautiful May Flowers as her replacement. They both struggle from the beginning to fight against their attraction but when a situation occurred at her home Lochlan makes it his mission to win May over.

I absolutely recommend this book and the whole Collins family series to everyone. They are fast enjoyable reads with great characters.

With it's contemporary genre and mild BDSM scenes, this book is beyond the scope of what I typically read/enjoy. However, I'm a sucker for those protective heroes, of which Lochlan was definitely one. It was also refreshing to read a book in which the hero falls first and hard for the heroine. Lochlan's willingness and determination to step up and take care of May and slay all her dragons for her was great and his family was wonderful too. I'd like to read their stories now, in fact. This was a really short book with gaps of several months between some of the chapters that could've been detailed, but somehow it worked here. I breezed through this one during a hurricane off day, so it's a pretty quick one. This story was simple, extremely steamy and a quick read so if any of that appeals to you, I would recommend it.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC! All opinions are my own.

When May starts her job as the personal assistant for Lochlan, he is not happy about it, because he thinks she is too young and inexperienced. But May soon shows that she can handle the job. And when Lochlan finds out that May's personal life is a complete mess, he decides that he will help her no matter what. Soon, Lochlan is not only smitten with May, but also with her mother and Chloe and Jenny who are living with May after her parent's death. Lochlan who never wanted kids or a family slowly realizes that his priorities change very fast.

May Flowers is a well written story from Mari Carr. I fell in love with Lochlan, May and the children right from the beginning. I also liked the secondary characters very much. The steamy scenes were very naughty and hot. I was so engrossed by the story that I read it in one sitting. I loved reading this book!

Oh WOW!! It’s been a long time since I read the Wild Irish series. But this book reminded me just how much I liked the Series when I first read it!! Now I have to catch up on the previous Wilder Irish books!! But first..... I’m going to need to reread the Wild Irish and get reacquainted with them, only because I missed them, and this book was just as good and touched on all the families qualities and antics that I enjoyed from the original series, along with their strong bond of love “Love Story”. How in the world I missed the previous books releases....I have no clue. But I don’t plan on missing another. I truly enjoyed Lochlan & May’s story, it so reminded me of his mother and father’s story.

Have you read the Wild Irish and Wilder Irish series, you need to, you really do.
I love this family, their love, the closeness and strength and when they fall they fall hard and fast. The spinoff with the kids is just as wonderful as the origin series.
I'm never too sure of the office romance trope, sometimes there's a lot of drama, angst and nothing but sex. However, I should have known that Ms. Care wouldn't have done that, it was faced past, yes May had a lot going on in her life but it wasn't drama, it was real life issues. The best part of this being an office romance was that Lochlan didn't want to hide it and that right there was refreshing.
I so enjoyed this book, the characters that pop in and out, all of it rolled together made for a fantastic read.

Book five in Wilder Irish series. Can be read and enjoyed as stand-alone. This is a spin off / next generation of the Wild Irish series. I love reading about the big Collins clan. Each story is about a different family member and their HEA. Lochlan has sworn to never marry or have the K word (kids). He is happy running his own company and making millions. How the mighty fall, or as the Collins family says the Collins curse as he goes into Viking protector mode for his assistant May. May is new to the assistant job and is barely keeping her family together. She wants to be taken seriously and not seen as just young or pretty. I enjoyed this office romance, super sweet!

The fifth book in the Wilder Irish brings something a bit difference.

Lochlan owns his own software company and like to be in charge & things done his way. His admin of many years finally decides to really retire & though Loch doesn't believe her, she hires her replacement - May Flowers.

The book like all the books in the Collins family is a delight with a lovely amount of heat and the required HEA. It gets a bit bumpy getting there but Loch & May finally make it happen.
