This is a great box set. Bud is a great unlikeable hero, he doesn't connect well to people, he's pretentious, distant, arrogant… However, as a lead in this series, he just meshes beautifully into it, and I find myself rooting for him regardless. I love the mix between, history, religion and the paranormal in this series and the prequel was a great idea to explain the orgins of the order. Fun to read with fast paced action packed plots, I love this series.

Good series to introduce a young adult to thrillers.

Book 1 - A centurion battles evil, of the likes which he has never seen, in the time of religious change. This book explains reason for the formation of The Oder of St. Michael. You are right there with the centurion in this exciting thriller. Read the series to experience what The Order of St. Michael faces in the future.

Book 2 - An action science fiction adventure. With witches, zombies, blood sacrifices, werewolves
and teleportation, there is something for everybody. Interesting characters that keep the story following. Looking forward to the next book.

Book 3 - Paranormal meets technology.
Bud has to deal with a poltergeist in Chicago, while he tries to help his friend to become alive. Technology and The Order of St. Michael help him out throughout the book. The next book is just as good, go check it out.

Incomprehensible Rubbish

No characterisation, no backstory, no justification or explanation
Maybe these are developed later in the book but I couldn't stick it long enough to find out - gave up at 30%
Does have reasonably good descriptive writing but since it was apparently aimed at a 10 year old audience ... I have to wonder why

0.5 of 5 so far, seems mix of urban fantasy and history, one of the few writers try to keep up with these days, in The Bud Hutchins Supernatural Thriller Series Books 1-3: The Bud Hutchins Supernatural Thrillers Collection #1 (Bud Hutchins Supernatural Thrillers 0.5–2 omnibus)
