"I don't need to know your name. I know your spirit. I'm more concerned with that."Ryan and Will. Two strangers with instant chemistry on an adventure fueled by a fiery connection neither can contain. But not everything is as it seems.Or is it? While this standalone book tells a complete story, it is novella-length meaning it is shorter by design. If you prefer your stories longer, I'd highly recommend checking out another Alexandra Warren project. :)
Alexandra Warren is a contemporary romance author with over thirty works to date, all of which intentionally center Black love. She is also the co-founder of Girl, Have You Read…, a digital platform dedicated to Black romance written by Black authors.
When she’s not in front of her computer, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family, watching sports, and clearing her DVR. Alexandra is a proud native of Omaha, Nebraska, but she currently calls Houston, Texas home.
I love Alexandra Warren so, I just knew I was going to love Baggage Claimed. Well, I didn't. The whole love at first sight vibe with Ryan and Will didn't work. It just didn't seem genuine to me. He was way more into the "relationship" than she was. While Ryan and Will had sexual chemistry, that was pretty much it. I felt like there was no real connection between them. And, then, to find out the entire book was a dream?!!! That definitely didn't help. Even the reveal was somewhat lackluster. On top of all that, we still didn't find out what Will's first name was! Why, oh, why did we not get that bit of information?!!! She, basically, ended the book as a cliffhanger with no closure what so ever. To say I was bummed is an understatement.

What is it with heroines and getting into strangers’ cars? I bought the soul connection but I wanted to see at least some reservations about following a man she just met. Not feeling completely safe with him like he somehow earned it. Also, I didn’t understand the possessiveness that early on from both sides. They didn’t know each other so it made no sense to me. The love declaration was another thing that took me off guard on day 3 of their “relationship” and later on when shit unfolded. I don’t see how things still happened despite the revelation. Overall, it felt too fairytaly to me.

Really Cute Sexy Short….I loved how Will & Ryan met and hit it off immediately…Chemistry from the start…..Wesleigh & Winston James did a great job narrating this short….I’m always here for a Wesleigh narration.
I absolutely loved this book but the ending was such a huge disappointment. Why get our hopes up so high and take us on such a wild ride only to end like that?! I loved the chemistry between Will and Ryan. I’m a fan of Alexandra Warren so won’t hold it against her but I could have done without the ending. It can be implied what would ultimately happen but just give us the ending we wanted 🤣😩
Now this is what you call a plot twist. Nasty sex, they have lots of it ,kind of. This was a different type of romance, almost kismet. A very good story. No notes. I recommend this short story.
I hated every second of this. I genuinely think it's the worst thing I've read this year. The dialogue was cringy and awful. NOBODY TALKS LIKE THAT. I never hate on novellas yet here I am. I thought I was out of it when I started reading last night but when I continued this morning it was worse. There was nothing redeemable about this book. Even if the writing is bad the characters could at least make me want to read it? But NAH. I don't think I giggled once. It was terrible. It was 81 pages and I kept wondering why the book was still going by page 31. It was HORRIFIC. I literally finished this book just so I could hate on it. Nah. 4.4 stars average? Cannot be the same book I read. This is like the 3rd book I didn't like from Alexandra so I'm starting to think that one book I liked was a fluke. This book genuinely pissed me off. Kmt. Alexandra better count her days. AND THEN, after all this foolishness, she tried to pass it off as vivid dream for them to meet again in the last chapter. Kmt. Time travel to 2019 and unrelease this. HELL.

Stuff like this would never happen in real life. But I wish I could just leave my life behind and meet someone in a an airport who would take care of me in all the ways Will took care of Ryan. And for it to only have been a dream after all that time SHAME ON IT ALL!!! Good short read ❤️
Thoughts: CHILE I ATE THIS AUDIOBOOK UP! I was rooting for will and Ryan so bad!! Ryan was clearly running from something and will was searching for something and they ran smack into each other! I think Ryan really got to see what it was like to be treated with love and respect! And I love that for her. But what the fuck was that ending? I’m so confused
OMG!!! My mouth is literally on the floor! I’m happy but dying at the same time! I need more! I have so many questions. This story was so crazy and the ride was everything. I need more 😭
I was so happy to see this author had written another novella. Of course, once I started reading I was finished in no time for this sweet love story was one I couldn't put down. Nicely written treat.
Still shocked!!!! You know a book is good when you reread it and are still shocked by what you already know is coming. The author did that, she created two characters that had you invested from beginning to end. Will was a Boss in every sense of the word and Ryan was such an engaging heroine. Love, love this book and will probably reread it again. Great, short read!
WOW. Y’all this was…… WHEW!!! Everything I thought I knew while reading this turned out to be wrong. This was sooooooooo good.
A break up at your birthday dinner. A random trip without a planned destination. The meeting of a man in the airport at bagged claimed. Amazing sex. Feelings. Pampering. Feelings. Things that feel so natural between you two that you discuss a possible future. A charity dinner. Sex in a stairway.
Then the unimaginable happens. And well, let’s just say you realize that everything wasn’t what they appeared to be and what you thought you wanted and needed turned out to be the very thing you didn’t because it would have required you to settle.
Ryan and Will legit brought us passion, desire, good sex, endless possibilities, and all the feels. I didn’t see the plot twist BUT it made the story EVERYTHING. This was hands down 5 stars!!!! Mrs. Warren did her BIG ONE!!!!
This book was definitely unexpected in a good way. What took place between Ryan and Will was definitely something she needed to help her see that she didn’t need to settle and she should feel good about being herself in whatever relationship she was in. I know this is a completed novella but I did not want it to end and I would love to see a follow up on these two characters to see where it actually goes.
THIS WAS SO GOOD 🤯 when i tell you I am obsessed!!! like i have no words. I will not spoil this story for anyone at all but wow this was the greatest and wildest and most fun ride and im so glad I picked this book up. Its quick, its funny, its spicy, its literally too good to be true😂 but most of all it has a great plot twist.
I mainly listened to it on audio and the audiobook was so enjoyable! My man Winston and my girl Wesley never fails me!
This is a novella, about 2 hours of listening and under 100 pages but this was the best 80 pages i think i’ve ever read 😭 simply so good. Alexandra’s brain >>> i must read more by her!!
This story has low drama, minimal conflict, and medium-slow paced. Everything really comes together at the end in a way that makes you appreciate the meaningful conclusion. I gave it 3 stars because the story lacked the excitement and thrill that I’m used to reading in most of my urban romance novels. However, the completeness of the story and the story’s overall message definitely makes it worth reading. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I was not expecting this book to leave me with questions but listen I have questions. I still really like this book, especially the performance by the narrators but I still have questions. Let me explain.
This is a short read so I am not going to go into too many details. We are introduced to our heroine Ryan having left a celebration of her birthday after her boyfriend, well ex-boyfriend ruins her day. She has decided to run away from the embarrassment that she will have to face in her hometown so she boards a flight to Houston with nothing but her phone. She meets our hero Will or Mr. Williams as she is looking lost in the airport. Their connection is off the charts from the moment they interacted. I loved Ryan's freedom in taking a chance to run even if it was just a moment and Mr. Williams' openness to the possibility of what if.
If you haven’t listened to the narration of this one it is nothing short of amazing. As always Wesleigh Siobhan's performance was super dope, especially the way she said g/d it made me laugh out loud. Winston James - although I am not as familiar I will be checking out more of his work in the future.
It was a great read/listen overall and I have filled in the name Aaron because I can (insider). 4 stars
This is the first book I have read where I could see the rating change as I read it multiple times. I'm not sure if it is because I am a man or what, but insta-love is not my jam at all. The logical side of my brain will not let me process it. Warren did something special with this conclusion that literally made me double-take what I was reading. I would say more, but I'm trying my hardest not to give anything away. Loved Ryan & Will separately and together.
At first, I personally didn’t feel the chemistry between the two but it was enjoyable to read about it. These two finding each other seemed like fate. Everything just fell into place. I loved Will! That was a man!! The ending frustrated me a little just because I wish I knew more but it did leave an air of mystery.
I was really enjoying this book until about chapter 6 and then I was thrown for a loop that ticked me off so bad I slammed my tablet case closed like an old flip phone 😂 there's nothing to review because none of it happened 🤷🏿♀️🤷🏿♀️
