I was disappointed in this book. while it provides a good introduction to basic principles it reads like a text. Borrowing heavily from Buddhist and Vedic practices, it provides a historical, semi-scientific view. I was hoping for practical exercises that I could implement easily. But most of the exercises are more pop psychology than spiritually based. There is a lot of journaling, logic and self-examination along with plugs for her course. She shares her own personal story as well as client anecdotes. Itis okay if you are looking for general information rather than practical guidance.

The first half of this book was really hard for me to get through, I felt it was so repetitive and I didn’t feel like I was getting a lot from it. So I ended up letting it sit on my nightstand for monthsss. I finally picked it back up to finish it just to find the second half to be so rich!! I have studied yoga philosophy for a while now and while I did not necessarily read anything here that I did not already know, I really enjoyed the fresh, unique perspective of this author. A really great read for anyone who is just starting to explore what energy is both practically and spiritually. I’m very happy I picked it back up.

Great content but a lot of sections are repetitive or too drawn-out. A book doesn’t need to say the same thing 5 different ways.

It was okay. Lots of repetitive ideas throughout the book and some golden nuggets here and there. Towards the end there is more substance compared to the rest of the book. Focus is on the importance of energy not so much on techniques to enhance it. You will need the online course for that. There are a few mentions though, the basics. Overall an okay book. Great for someone who is a beginner in the area and wants to understand the basics.

I just finished reading the book and it really made me look at things very differently. I have a full time job, I travel a lot and have been feeling tried lately. I hit the snooze button multiple times in the morning and literally drag myself out of bed. All the while telling myself that I have a busy life and that's why I am tired. As I was reading the book I realized, it wasn't so much my body that was tired (it's not as if I run marathons all day) but my mind. Something in the book really struck me and made me look at my life through a new lens.

'The mind-wandering is where the real struggle comes in. Think of it this way: It’s as if you were walking around all day, every day, with a Woody Allen character in your head—a constant negative commentary on everything you think, say, and do. I’m sorry to say that, if you could hear your own internal dialogue, you’d find that, at some level, you really are walking around with a Woody Allen in there. We all are."

It's the constant chatter in my mind (that sometimes even goes on when I am sleeping) that has me feeling so exhausted, like I am running on empty. I tried a couple of simple techniques in the book and already feel a difference. Can't wait to try the rest. I think this is a book that will stay on my coffee table as a reference guide for a long time to come.

The book is a marvel. It has simple tips and tools that help to relieve stress, sleep better, reduce anxiety and have more energy throughout the day. What amazed me was how effective these tips are. It has only been a few days since I have been using some of the tips mentioned in the book and I can already see the difference in my quality of sleep and my energy levels. I am looking to explore more of the techniques mentioned in the book in the coming days.
I have tried mindfulness and have found it to be very hard and gave it up. I really liked how the author explained why mindfulness is a harder way and that there is an easier and better way to meditate. I am going to look up what she recommended.
The book has made me more aware of myself and what is happening inside of me.
Her insight on resistance is really precious. In the past few days I have been noticing that when my mind is in resistance to something it only makes it harder. But when I drop the resistance, I am able to move through it (whether it is some task or interaction with someone) much more easily.
The book is a mix of techniques and insights which can make a huge impact in improving the day to day life. The book is like a reference manual, which I expect to go back to again and again.

This book is a distillation of over 30 years of authors experience in teaching meditation and holistic human well being. Author Rajshree Patel , once a successful district attorney left from her job and travelled around the globe for 30 years to teach meditation and find out an answer to a bigger question. "Who am I " a question which many times looms in our head too. Empowering them with tools and know how to conduct a happy and meaningful life.

While writing this review I have already read the book twice and planing to read it again. Its a book which you will want to keep close to you for ever.

When I first picked up The Power of Vital Force, I was a skeptic. What are these “ancient secrets” and how could they possibly be useful in my life? I’ve changed my tune. Rajshree Patel writes about the mind and its workings in a compelling, relatable way—but also backs up her claims with science. The tools she presents are hardly new—they are rooted in the Vedanta tradition of India and are thousands of years old—but they are completely relevant in todays, fast-paced, tech-obsessed, hyper-connected world. I’d argue that these days, we need to reconnect to our inner power more than ever. An engaging read that will challenge your conventional beliefs.

Terrible book. Certainly do not recommend. The author simply throws words around beating about the bush.
