Amazing

I am so I n love with this series. And this book is amazing. It's a non stop action packed full to the brim action of battle between the sensitive and the devil. So many twists within that has you so captivated that you feel like you are there. It truly is an amazing series. I cannot wait for book 8! I've already pre ordered it so I don't miss out. That's how good it is! Definitely recommend you give this series a read. You won't be disappointed.

This is the second time I have read through The Edward King series and The Sensitives. I love Rick Woods writing, I've read lots of his other work and really enjoy that too! So, I am a fan and this particular book is also good - there are a few annoying mistakes which is why this one only gets 3 stars instead of the usual 5.

**** Spoilers for this, and previous books, below ****

**************************************

There are a few "facts" about the previous stories that are wrong. One may simply be showing how information changes with time - when Oscar states that Balam took Edward's cousin when we know it was his sister for example.

Others, though, can't be explained that way. Derek states in this story that the devil has never possessed anyone. We know that isn't true, it's a huge plot point in the EK series that Kelly had been. It's how the devil's three could happen. It's not really something he could forget!
It's repeated a couple of times and always removes me from the story immersion as it's just such a huge oversight.

It's great to see Lacey again but her history is somewhat rewritten. She didn't help Edward enter hell, Jenny did. Lacey revived Edward in the previous book.

How did Julian revive himself after his journey to hell? Then be healthy enough to participate in the huge exorcism the very next day? When did he even do it seeing as we were "with" those characters throughout that time period in the previous book?

Finally - the devil literally tells Oscar what he's doing whilst doing it. He sees it happen. So how is he so shocked when it's revealed on the final page?! I know he was dealing with a lot but it makes him seem very stupid.......

Again - I love Rick Wood. I really enjoy his storytelling. I'm just exorcising some of the things that really bother me about this particular book before finishing the series again and going on to the Rogue Exorcist series.

This is what happens when you don't listen!

The Resurgence is the seventh book in the Sensitives series written by Rick Wood. Apparently this is the second to last book in this series so I will finish the series.

Let's state the good first. I admire tasty the author come up with a unique series that really got me in book one and two, the reasons I kept reading on. Each book is different and the place is pretty good with something always happening. He keeps going back and forth in time to explain what happened in the past you explain the here and now.

So I was a huge fan of Oscar but have really lost my respect for him. He is trying to fix his mess but as per usual he just makes bad decisions. I admit, not a fan of his anymore. That left me with April and I get it, she suffered after what happened with Julian, but come on, was the ending really necessary? After her behavior during the entire book her behalf at the end was infuriating and yes I get it, it's for the plot for him 8, but then her actions should have been different to some degree in this book, not completely cold and detached to Oscar. So that leaves this series with Thea being the only real likeable main character.

And what I don't get, what happened to Seb? He completely disappeared without any explanation that I recall, unless I read over it at one point when Oscar was driving me nuts.

Well there is just one more left, the grand finale so I may as well finish it now. I am not sure what to expect at this point....

I had been enjoying this series for the most part; however, the last few books have been more annoying than enjoyable. This is in respect to the apparent tunnel-vision both of our main protagonists seem to have. I was as young as Oscar and April are once and I know all about being head over heels for your significant other; however, most people still retain a little common sense despite this but these two have shown that common sense is clearly not common.

And yes I know these moronic decisions had to be made to progress the story further but I am holding out hope that once I reach the end of the final book (67% finished so far), these foolish decisions will be redeemed by at least one of these two making a logical decision for once and putting the continuation of humanity before their infatuation with each other.

The Sensitives are in dire straits. It looks like the demonic entities are gaining the upper hand but Sensitives do not give up as they are hellbent on driving the demons away from this world. Sacrifices have to be made but at what cost? Waiting impatiently for the final book.

When I first began this series, I was intrigued to see where the author would take the group of Sensitives. There has been triumph and heartache in each novel. I truly wonder what would happen if the devil were able to enter our plane, would it be different that what the world is experiencing now? I still have so many questions. I know the next to read is: After the Devil Has Won, but I have so many thoughts floating around my brain. I really would recommend this novel as well as the others. I feel they are thought provoking and stay with you long after you turn the last page.

You're killin' me, Rick Wood. I won't write any spoilers, but I gather from the ending that there will be a Book 8. There HAS to be a Book 8. I am also looking forward to watching Henry develop. That's about all I can say. Oh dear.....

They've been to hell and back and now one of them has the Devil himself within them. This will be the hardest, most critical battle for the Sensitives to fight.
Read on because Book Eight will tell all.

I must admit this book has a terrifying feel to it. If you have ever wondered what it would be like if the gates of hell actually open, then this book will show you.

Totally gripping.
