I know that I’m too shy to find a mate. Too timid. Too insecure. The only people I feel really confident around are my packmates - and Adam. Seeing my best friend again after ten years feels like heaven, but matching with him on Mate.com? Has the potential to break my world apart.
Adam
After ten years as a Navy SEAL, I’m ready for civilian life. And there’s nothing I’m ready for more than catching up with Jake again. But my childhood best friend has grown up into one hell of an omega, and that? Is something they don’t prepare you for in boot camp.
Worth the Chance is a standalone mpreg shifter book featuring one heartfelt reunion, a delightfully jealous alpha, and of course, a HEA sure to make your heart swoon. This book and every other book in the Hunters Haven series can be read in any order
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the fifth book in the Hunter's Haven series. In this book, Jake is the final member of the pack who hasn't found his fated mate and is feeling like he never will. Jake has signed up to Mated.com, the dating app and has went on a number of dates, but never found his potential mate. Jake thinks he missed his chance when his best friend left ten years before to join the military. Adam and Jake were best friends and lost touch about five years before when Adam joined the special forces. Jake had always had feelings for Adam, but was scared to tell him in case they lost their friendship. Adam also had feelings for Jake, but thought the same thing. When Adam suddenly returns to town after leaving the SEALs, he wants to see Jake and hopes it isn't too late. Adam knows he needs to find a job and one night he sees Jake with his friends at the local bar. Jake is awkward and shy and doesn't know what to say to Adam. When Adam suggests meeting to catch up, it is like old times. When Jake mentions Mates.com, Adam signs up and they are both shocked to see they are matched. They play it off as them just being matched because of being friends. They agree to help each other find dates and even agree to a double date. But during the date, Jake's heat comes on and Adam takes him home to care for him. Being in close quarters together, they can't fight their attraction to one another. I really liked this second chance romance. I liked Jake and thought he was shy and soft spoken. I think he really loved Adam and Anam really loved him. They both wanted to be together, but thought it was too much to hope for. I loved this series and look forward to reading more from Liam.
Jake has been using his friend and packmate’s dating app Mates.com for some time. He has been on one bad date after another. He’s too shy and timid to actually have a conversation with anyone. The only time he has confidence is with his packmates and best friend, Adam. He hasn’t seen Adam in 10 years and their reunion is bittersweet.
Adam has been in the military for 10 years. He comes home to Hunter’s Haven in hopes of reconnecting with his best friend, Jake. He’s not sure what kind of reception he’ll get from Jake since he pretty much cut off contact with him for 5 years. When they reunite he realizes that Jake is not the same person he was when he left. He’s turned into one hell of an omega.
When Adam signs up for Mates.com he’s shocked when he gets an immediate match that turns out to be Jake. Jake has no idea what to think or say about it. They’ve both wanted this for so long but they’re sure the other isn’t interested.
Again the lack of communication in this story is infuriating at times. A simple conversation between these two could have saved so much heartache. But despite all that, these two characters were a joy to read. I wish there was more mention of Jake and Adam’s childhood together and Adam’s military career. I’ve really enjoyed this series.

Jake's story is really sweet. A perfect rounding off of the tales of the Hunter's Haven pack. This one, unlike it's predecessors, is virtually angst and drama free. Could any two guys ever be more meant for one another. Their story is the epitome of "suffering in silence", but when the walls come down, they fall with an explosive crash.
I absolutely adored Adam & Jake. I won't say any more about this, except that this was a beautifully written, sweet story (and series). These are all comfortable, quick read, Standalone episodes that can be polished off and devoured in a few hours each. But, nonetheless, packed with excellent character development, world building, plenty of yummy sexy times, witty and snappy dialogue, heartwarming interaction with side characters, cute babies and always that wonderful HEA.
THANK YOU LIAM. I can't wait for the next full moon.
So this was the last book in this series but somehow it was the best! I’m always sad when you know a book series is done but when you see that all your favourite characters have found their happy ending you can’t help but love it!
Jake was the last of his pack to find his mate. But when his best friend reappears back in Hunters Haven he can’t help but think maybe his mate was Adam all along?
Adam has returned but isn’t sure what’s next. But when he sees his childhood best friend/crush he can’t help but think he came back to this town to finally get his happy ending?
But these two are stuck in that friend zone and both are too scared to see what could happen if they stepped out of it.
Good thing Jakes heat decides to get them out of it and turn their lives upside down!
You will fall in love with these two clueless men and their amazing happy ending.

First I have to say I am a fan of Liam Kingsley. Just like the rest of the series the character are amazing and in depth. Jake is an omega, and pretty much the last of his close group of friends and pack without a mate. He has tried, even going on Mates.com to register and see what matches he got. None of them paid off. He had one alpha on his mind but he was gone. Adam has not been back for a long time, he anxious to figure out the rest of his life, and seeing his best friend. The story is about friendship and love, and not losing one for the other. It is also about packmates that are an every day part of your life and are there for you no matter what. wonderful HEA, with the entire pack and the wonderful life that Jake and Adam have in front of them. Just the perfect amout of steamy scenes.

Jake has no luck finding a mate but thinks often of old friend Adam then Adam returns. Having had numerous dates using the Mates.Com app Jake is feeling down as none have been a success and the only man he ever thinks about his best friend Adam left to join the military as soon as he turned eighteen. Then he and his friends walk into the Lone Wolf Bar and Adam is sitting at the Bar and he thinks he is seeing things. Adam had not opted to renew his enlistment having had enough of the life and has returned to Hunter's Haven where he grew up. Spending his first week there looking for a job he heads to bar a short distance away where he recognizes the owner from the pack before he left but is shocked when Jake comes through the door with a group of friends. A MM MPreg romance to relax and enjoy.

Wow, this delightful MM shifter romance with an undertone of “friends to lovers” was such a pleasure to read. The characters are well-developed with individual personalities and have realistic & believable emotional feelings & reactions. The story-line and plot is intriguing, well-thought out and written. There is a rather insecure male omega who is virtually the last wolf shifter in his pack without a mate (Jake), his best friend & alpha returns from the military after 10yrs (Adam), wolf shifters, packmates, friendship, shock, strange attractions, misunderstandings, jealousy, fantasies, discovery, fated mates, reservations, vulnerabilities, compromises, contentment, love, happiness, steamy scenes & a happy conclusion.
Jake is the last of his pack to be seeking his mate - all of the others have found theirs through Mates.com, an ap set up by two of their members. When Adam comes home, Jake remembers why they were best friends - and why even after all their years apart, there is still something there. But Adam is not sure - and feels insecure - he doesnt have a job, cant support a mate - excuses that seem to work, until they go on a double date , and Jake comes into heat. The thought that another man could touch him fires Adam, and he takes him home to keep him safe. Will they be able to overcome the obstacles in their way? Will they have their HEA? I have loved each and every story in this series!

This is book 5 to the Hunter’s Haven series it’s a fantastic story and I enjoyed it immensely. Jake and Adam are best friends they grew up together and they both have feelings for each other but Adam left and became a navy seal while Jake stayed home too shy and insecure to find his mate but he did try he went on Mates.com but they weren’t Adam so they never worked out. 10 years later Adam returns home to find his best friend Jake has grown up in to a gorgeous omega, Jake goes in to his heat while on a double date with Adam but will both give into their feelings for each other or will Adam let Jake go through his heat alone?. Another fantastic story to this series and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

I loved this story, it is the perfect conclusion to the series. This story was low on angst, but still had just enough tension in the story to keep it from falling flat. I thought the story flowed the best out of the whole series.
Jake is the last of his pack left without a mate, and though he believes that the Mates.com app works he hasn't found his match yet. Adam has been away from Hunter's Haven for 10 years, but now he's back and happy to pick back up his friendship with Jake. These two had a few moments of communication issues, but they were understandable and didn't drag on for too long. The chemistry and heat was certainly there, but also the sweeter moments.
Jake is the last one of the pack without a mate. He is shy and gets to Unger tied on dates, he thinks he will just be single forever. Adam returns after 10 years in military, he not sure why he came back his family is all gone. The only one here is his best friend who he hasn't seen since he left. It will be tough to be around him as he always waned to be more than friends but Jake did not feel the same way. This is the story of 2 people so caught in their own stuff they don't see what is right in front of them. Enjoyable easy read that you can't wait to finish.

In Chance of a Lifetime, the fifth Hunter’s Haven book, we finally get Jake’s story. What a wonderfully sweet reunion/ union story. Jake and Adam had been best friends through school until Adam left to serve in the military for 10 years. Adam returns to Hunter’s Haven after retiring and they renew their friendship, never realizing how much more deeply each one feels about the other. It was such an enjoyable read as they renewed their friendship, then deepened their relationship, around job interviews, pack runs, and unexpected heats. A great couple. A satisfying HEA. Definitely a feel good story.

Jake is still single and has a hard time talking to his dates. Jake is sill missing his best friend Adam. Adam left because he was in love with his best friend. Ten years later he is back in town and looking for a job. Adam sees Jake and wonders if he is mated yet. Adam and Jake meet for drinks and to catch up. Adam asks about the Mates.com app that is the latest thing. Jake helps Adam sign up and when Adam hits send both Adam and Jake get potential mate matches to each other on their phones. Can this be true? Can Jake be Adams fated mate? Can they go from being best friend to being lovers?

Adam and Jake had been best friends as teenagers, but this suddenly changed when Adam - an alpha - sings up to become a seal. Jake is left behind and although he has close ties to his pack - he misses Adam in many ways. When Adam returns after more than 10 years he is thrilled, but also scared, as he has feelings for Adam that could jeopardise their friendship, not knowing that Adam ran away for the very same reason 10 years earlier. Finding back together - but on a new level - as fated mates, is a long journey on a rough road of insecurities and miscommunication. Well-written and entertaining. All's well that ends well! Jake, last of the pack still single. He gave his heart to Adam when they were in school. Adam left and joined the military. Adam, Alpha in closet but not really. In special forces returns home only because Jake is there. They secretly in love with each other but don't express their feelings for each other. Jake helps Adam join the dating app and realizes he doesn't like the idea. Then they go on a double date. The funniest thing I ever read! This is a really nice conclusion to the series. We get to read Jake's story and it is worth the wait. Excellent story. I received an ARC from Booksprout for a review.
Adam and Jake had gone through school the best of friends. When Adam turned eighteen he left for the military with no explanation to Jake. In the ten years since they had seen each other they only kept in touch for the first five years. Jake worries he will never see Adam again. Adam is out of the military and living back in Hunters Haven. He has no job and is finding it difficult to find one. Whilst out at the local pub Adam sees Jake and realises his love for the other man never went away. Jake is shocked to see his friend and love of his life back home in Hunters Haven.

*I voluntarily read this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else's*
Jake is the odd one out as his pack members have paired off. He yearns for a mate of his own: will fate bring him a mate to call his own?
Jake and Adam made me laugh when they decided to go on a double date - talk about a disaster waiting to happen lol. Adam’s behaviour at the table was entertaining and revealed a lot about his feelings towards Jake.
Jake was shy and awkward in the beginning yet the more time he spent with Adam, he came out of his shell.
The last of the guys meet his mate. Jake has watched all his pack buddies find their mates while he has date after date never found his. His, best friend Adam, who has been away for 10 years doing military contact assignment finally comes back to town and to their amazement find that they more than like each other. Read how Jake and Adam navigate from friendship, to dating, to find out they are mates and beyond. Hang in for a great story and a HEA.

4.5☆ Best friends Jake and Adam are reunited after ten years. Both have always felt a connection but did not want to chance ruining their friendship. My heart broke for the intense longing they felt but I also wanted to shake them for not speaking up! A lot of emotions, doubts, and angst, followed with sizzling passion, a decision to be made, acute happiness, fierce love and devotion, and a satisfyingly sweet HEA.

4.5 I really liked Jake and Adam's story. It was well written. The characters' dialogue felt natural. I liked the way the main characters connected with the minor characters. They were a real family. I felt really bad for Jake and how he was emotional at the beginning. I think that his emotions were well written. I liked Jake and Adam's passion and chemistry for each other. The sex between them was really passionate.

mates.com is at it once again, When Jake and Adam touch base after years apart the app matches them at mates, but both being afraid that even dating each other once might ruin their years long friendship, they stear clear and try to go on a double date instead, This is a wonderful story with tons of emotion, a great cast of characters and plenty of steam.

This book felt a little rushed and disconnected. The beginning of the book was steady and had great build up, but I felt like it lacked that connection factor. Between the date and them sleeping together I think there should have been more development. It seemed like with a blink of an eye they were already mated and had a baby. It was an okay ending to the series and I wished that we had a better solution for Adams career.

Adam and Jake were best friends in school. Adam left to serve in the military and, they lost contact. Jake cannot seem to find an Alpha he connects with and is too shy to open up. There is definitely some miscommunication and lack thereof, but I enjoyed how everything played out between them. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
This was a great book. I love reading books that have an Alpha Prime types of of pack hierarchy, and this one didnt disappoint. There was a strong storyline with plenty of emotional drama, witty interactions, and steamy action.

Jake and Adam loved each other for a long time, but neither told the other. Adam joined the service and left. When he came back he rekindled his romance with Jake. What they did not know is they are fated mates. Once they figured this out they bonded and produced twins from this and became a larger family.

Jake sucked at dating. He's too shy. The only one he felt comfortable with was his best friend Adam who he hasn't seen in ten years and hasn't heard from in five years. Adam joined the service when he was eighteen. After ten years he's back home. He doesn't know what he wants to do with his life. I really have enjoyed this book and the whole series.
Waiting 10 years for your fated mate is a long time! Adam and Jake were feeling guilty and shy after seeing each other but that soon changed! I missed some of the other books on this series and I do have three that I purchased. However, I will dive in because this is a great book and if the others are this good I know I'm in for a treat!
I absolutely loved this book and was honored to have been able to read and review. It was such a phenomenal read and had amazing characters as well as an amazing story line. I just could not get enough of it and once I started reading it I could not put it down. I recommend that you read it.
