Delicious, glamorous, even slightly decadent -- cocktails are back in vogue. Whether you want to throw a great party or spice up an ordinary evening, Ben Reed's Cool Cocktails, with stunning photography by William Lingwood, will offer all the inspiration you need.
I received this as a gift. I do like reading cocktail and drink recipe books, as I enjoy experimenting and trying new recipes. This book is alright in terms of the recipes, which seem a bit too high brow for me. I have read other books in this regard that are much more accessible to the casual mixer at home. On the other hand, the photography in this book is excellent, which makes the book a pleasure to look through, even if not as practical.
When I picked up a cocktail book to read, I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. This book has cocktail recipes but it also has lots of information about the different types of alcohol and the history of many of the drinks. I'm quite impressed by this one.
I knew I would like it when the author wrote that he wanted to start off the book with Vodka cocktails, his favorites. Mine, too! Beautiful photography is included.
