She prays that the pretty lady with the kind eyes will give them a chance… and that her dad doesn’t ground her for life when he finds out!

Heather Ayer is down on her luck and has just done the craziest thing. She applied to a mail order bride agency. Marrying a man she’s never met is crazy. Then again, maybe it’s the fresh start she needs.

*WARNING* contains adult situations
Heather thought she had her life all figured out until her father died. Heather's boyfriend made sure that once her father was gone, everything she should have gotten would be his by convincing her to put everything into his name. Heather was very trusting and now she has nothing, so why sign up to be a mail order bride.
Chloe loves her dad, but he knows nothing about girl stuff. Chloe needs a mom for hair and periods and boy talk! When Chloe finds Heather's picture on the mail order bride site, she's sure her dad won't find out....well, at least until she's all ready at the house.
Tanner does the best he can with Chloe, but a mail order bride!!??? What was she thinking?
This was a sweet, feel good story. A young girl wanting a mom to give advice and she finds a way to get one. Two broken people coming together, fate can't be denied. I like that the daughter knows her father well enough to pick the perfect match. This was a beautiful story.

Such a sweet story....

This was such a sweet story and I didn't want it to end. A man who surrounded himself with secrets and a woman who'd been torn apart by them meet by the schemes of a 10 year old girl. Both have to learn to trust their instincts, even if one of them is a little more wild than the other. Loved it.

WEREBEAR’S MAIL ORDER MATE begins the Jackson Valley Shifters series by Candace Ayers. This is a revised edition of a title that was originally released in 2017. I did not read that version of the story so I can only give you my thoughts on the May 3, 2019, release. And that opinion is that this is a good, entertaining story that any reader of Shifter Romance would enjoy.

It’s easy to understand the desperation Heather feels as she sets off on this journey into the unknown. Life has tossed her some very hard situations recently and she’s still getting her head wrapped around what’s happened. But she has to do something, and Chloe’s letter touched her so much that she made the choice to take a chance on her future with this father and daughter.

Tanner is a man of secrets, one huge one that he’s keeping from his daughter. He’s a good man, a devoted, loving father and he believes that’s all life has for him. He’s wrong, but will he open his eyes and take a few risks to ensure that he, Heather, and Chloe have that happy ever after for a lifetime.

I had a good time with WEREBEAR’S MAIL ORDER MATE. Chloe is the main scene and heart stealer here, this young lady knows what she wants, what her father needs and sets out to get it. Heather believes the crap that her jerk of an ex spewed at her and it will take a good man to change her mind. Tanner is at times clueless, and I found that endearing, for the most part. What he thinks he’s saying but what actually comes out of his mouth are often two different things. So in some ways, he creates his own troubles but takes fast action to fix it.

Several interesting secondary characters will have me returning to this world to discover what comes next. If you love a fun, entertaining Shifter Romance that sizzles and isn’t afraid to show an Alpha man being a bit clueless then you’d enjoy WEREBEAR’S MAIL ORDER MATE.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

Was Heather nicht weiß?

This is an OK shifter romance, with a likable couple -- but it was too short to have as much character development as I like. The author gave a little backstory on Heather and Tanner, but not enough for me to really connect with them. As is typical in shifter romances, this story features instalove. It does have one sex scene, but it is not really explicit.

I will say that I adored little Chloe, and thought it was hilarious that she ordered a mail-order bride for her dad. When he found out, Tanner didn't take it too well. His reaction almost ruins his chances with Heather, but they do find their HEA.

Overall, this one gets 3 stars from me. If it had been longer, so that it could have had more character development, it would have gotten a higher rating.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

A Great Read!!

I enjoyed reading Werebear’s Mail Order Mate(Jackson Valley Shifters Book 1). All about Tanner Holt a single dad who is a bear shifter and owns a ranch & Heather Ayer a twenty nine year old baker from NYC. Heather is down on her luck and goes to the Mail Order Bride Agency as a last ditch effort to save herself from being evicted and from loneliness. She just found out she is barren and is beside herself! The author wrote a story about a young women who has lead a good life until her father passes. She has been wealthy her whole life, but her father put everything in her fiancé’s name. So he is wealthy, but she is a pauper. Tanners daughter Chloe needs a mom, and she writes to the bride agency, looking for a kind, warm hearted mom who can cook and likes children. Read about Tanner & Heather and see if finding your one true mate is in the cards, or will truly being alone always haunt Heather & Tanner for the rest of there lives! I enjoyed reading this story, it has a lot of passion & deceit and some unexpected twists & curves along the way!

The couple: Tanner and Heather

Romance trope: shifters
Series: Jackson Valley Shifters
Length: 120 pages

Plot: Tanner is lonely with the only female at his ranch being his young daughter, Chloe. Chloe desperately wants a mother, and she wants her dad to be happy, so she sends away for a mail-order bride (using her dad's credit card). Tanner isn't happy with Chloe, but when Heather comes to the ranch and he actually meets her, he's not as averse to being set up as he thought.

Commentary: I thought this one was interesting in that Heather really wanted kids but couldn't have them, and Chloe offered her the perfect solution. I loved that Tanner felt comfortable enough to show her the truth of his bear. There was no angst aside from the adults deciding if they were going to go ahead with the manufactured relationship, so the story was at once a little long and too short - if there had been something else, the plot would have moved along a little quicker (like a kidnapping to tension within the shifter community or something). But it was sweet and I did love the interactions that all the adults had with Chloe.

Next book in the series: Country Star Werebear

It is a cute story a daughter looking for a mom sets her dad up with a mail order bride....now to tell dad, now that she arrived.LOL

Heather had it eating her life with a set up fiance that scammed her and her father. She has some wine and makes one of those impulsive decision... Funny the morning after? Chloe mother died at birth and its been just her n her dad and the hands....all men. She decided she needs a mom. Now a credit card (her dads) and a wish list.... Cute and twist and turns and no kidding a bear shifter to boot like a surprise mail order bride was not enough...

This was an interesting book. I loved the idea of this story. I loved Chloe and how much she loved her father. I also loved how Heather was willing to step out side of her comfort zone and move on from a crappy ex and I loved how Tanner was willing to open up to Heather and realized right away her importance to him.

Possible Spoiler:

I do wish that at the end of everything though Tanner and Chole could have found out they they could only have kids together, but I guess it wasn't meant to be.

It was a really cute, fast paced story. I do wish that the whole shifter thing had been more in the forefront because it’s classed as paranormal but it was very little and could have still had the same impact with out its I did like Heather and Tanner. They were a perfect match for each other. I would like to read more about some of the secondary characters. For a short story it wasn’t too bad. 4 Stars #2OCCJD

Terrific and sweet love story

This was a quick read. The darling story of Chloe, a young girl wanting a wife for her wonderful dad and a caring mom for herself. Despair and desperation drive Heather to sign up to be a mail order bride. She wins big when she's matched to go to Jackson Hole and meet Tanner, amazing rancher and werebear, and Chloe, his precocious daughter. What follows is a delightful story of love, family and forever. Beautiful tale.

I really like who the author writes from the very start i was just into the story buuuuut there is a big but since is a novella it has a few pages and even the parts with the daughter were so cute it was at the half of the book where the MC interact and that interaction is minimal close to nothing so i was like noup, no thanks.
Its a novella where the MC doesn't interact until the half and then they are madly in love but i couldn't buy it, sorry

A Good Start To a Series

Heather has been dumped by her fiance and about to lose her apartment. 10 year old Chloe needs a mother. Tanner, a grizzly bear shifter, had given up on finding his mate. If Chloe's plan to find Tanner a bride works, they may all get their happily ever after.

Sweet

Heather and Tanner are nice people with complicated pasts, and I was rooting for them. The conflict is mostly them not getting out of their own way. Nobody is ever in danger.

I only gave it three stars because of the omniscient point of view and occasional nonsensical moments.

Very nice book

I enjoyed reading this book. I sympathized with Chloe wanting a mother figure as she was reaching puberty and lived in an all male household. The writer made you feel the anguish that Chloe was feeling about having a mother and doing everything she could for Heather to love and accept her and her father Tanner.

Great story

I really enjoyed this story.
It's slow at first but very informative to what is happening ahead.
This was a read that i throughly enjoyed and loved the characters. Chloe is such a great daughter and young lady. I hope she will get just as great of a husband as her dad did with his bride.
If you enjoy a great read with a touch of heat I highly recommend it.

This is a sweet and steamy tale of love and redemption. Heather is a sweet woman who has been badly betrayed by her ex. In a moment of madness she signs up to be a mail order bride. Tanner is a single dad with a secret. Chloe is his adorable and precocious ten year old daughter. These three have issues to overcome to become a family but I loved their journey.

I loved this book. Most insta love books don't make any sense because the author doesn't have enough time to give a back story and an insight into the characters. But I knew these people. I pulled for them from the beginning to the end. I definitely recommend this book.
