Drake – Men of Versteck Valley - Book 3

Up and coming, Attorney Faith Gardner had finally reached a benchmark in her career when she opened her own firm. Before she could take a victory lap, a decision she made almost two years ago comes back to destroy her. Now she stood on the precipice of losing everything she worked so hard to build.

Smart and handsome, Attorney Drake Sanderson worked as a partner in a small law firm and preferred cases that held an edge of danger or suspense. After leaving a lucrative career with a larger firm in the city, he was finally able to work the kinds of jobs he wanted. When a friend from law school sought Drake’s special skills to handle a potentially dangerous problem, Drake didn’t hesitate to operate in the gray areas of the law.

When Faith recognizes she’s in over her head and needs professional help to handle her client’s needs, she seeks assistance from Drake’s firm. What she didn’t expect was his disregard for the letter of the law. Working together to find answers, will Faith’s steadfast belief in following the law at all costs be compromised by Drake’s preference in walking in the gray areas? In a race against time, Faith and Drake must find common ground to not only save her life but the life of her client as well.

"Hello,I'm a self-proclaimed read-a-holic. I love most genres and would rather read than do most things. Stands to reason, that I'd have this inexplicable love affair with the written word!

Reading was the balm that soothed me during tough times as a single mother, working two jobs. As things leveled out, I found I enjoyed the places books took me, there was a certain solace learning about various times and cultures. When I began traveling, many of the places I visited felt like old friends. I could envision the characters from the books walking the cobbled streets, or running along the swift moving streams.

After twenty years of reading and collecting my favorite authors, I decided to indulge my passion for storytelling. I took classes, invested in seminars and sat nervously across the table from editors. It was a lengthy process, Finally, I got the courage to allow the market to judge my work. The market can be a brutal, but I think fair, mistress. Hard work is rewarded and appreciated. Slackers don't stand a chance. :-)."

Wooh this is one book that comes with lots of surprises.

So lets jump right in.

Warning if you haven't already started this series you don't know what you're missing on with the other books. PLEASE make sure you read Asher, & Moses book before you read this one. They do not connect with on another but you will get a better feel of the tight relationship they have.

Now Drake is the Lawyer, and the enforces as well of the Versteck Valley. Him and his brother Moses, and cousin Asher are not one to mess with when it comes to protecting their loves one.

I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book and Drake is just as dangerous as the other two, and if not just a tad bit more dangerous. He is literally a wolf in sheep clothing, considering that he lethal as well as ruthless.

Now Faith has started from the bottom and is making her way to the top. Her clients are different from the clients you would think that she will take on. Her clients are Mistresses, and Misters, and she console and represent them.

Not something that I would do since they're people who is clearly messing with a married person who is breaking their vows. But to his and her own, but personally not something I would do. But even though she represent them she doesn't share their same views in life.

Faith believes in following the book to the T, so you can only imagine when Drake steps into her life what a fight that had to be. Drake isn't really a law breaking citizen, he's also a Lawyer who focus more in the criminal justice, while Faith doesn't.

Now because of a client that Faith took on goes missing she is force to look into a security to not only find the missing client, but also protect herself as well as her family. There are times in the book that I find myself agreeing with Faith when it comes to her family safety. When Asher pushes to set up security on her family asap. She said she wants to give a warning at least, and when she finally convinces him, she drop the stick by not calling. Then her family ends up being in danger, this part had me shaking my head at her in disappointment. Since she could've possibly avoided all of this by following through with what she said she was going to do.

I do hope Erosa Knowles makes a book for Gaine, he is too funny. I found myself laughing a lot when he was in the book a lot. She did mention she didn't know if she should write one and yes she should.

What a great suspenseful story

I could not stop reading it wanting to know where in the world was Soror Francesca and who done it. I did not see that ending coming but I had my suspicions. Attorney Faith Gardner finally realized that by taking Francesca on as a client, she bit off more than she could handle. In hindsight, she should have not taken her on, she was grateful her best friend and law schoolmate Gavin persuaded her to use fellow law school classmate Drake Sanderson to help her find Francesca and who was behind her being missing. With the skill set of the Versteck Arms employees, including the expertise of Asher and Moses, they kept Faith safe until the end.

Erosa wrote a highly suspenseful, energy charged story that I couldn't stop reading until finished. There was only one problem, I was so charged up trying to figure out all of the players in the reason why in the world Francesca was missing, I did not see or feel the chemistry build up between Faith and Drake. They found themselves in bed and it just happened. When it did happen, it bowled over Drake and caught him by surprise with the intensity. Faith just seemed to go along until the end.I could not stop reading it wanting to know where in the world was Soror Francesca and who done it. Giving this book three stars was very generous.

This story focused more on the love between Francesca & the Senator than it did on the actual main characters Faith & Drake!!!!!!

I also really don't like how this entire book was spent trying to figure out what the hell happened to Francesca only for it to be wrapped up & glossed over in basically 4 sentences. I STILL don't even fully understand what actually happened to the broad!! And hell if this was going to focus so much on Francesca and the senators romance then the author could have at least given us a satisfying reunion between the two when she finally woke up from her coma. 🙄🙄🙄

Yes,!

Gavin does need his own story. His connection to Faith and Drake gave him a bit more personality; even though he was a secondary character to different main characters. Faith and Drake weren't as compelling as Theo and Imani; but Faith had to learn the hard way to follow an expert's advice. But she did recognize and act on her attraction to Drake and Drake allowed her to process things at her own pace while keeping things real at the same. They are a good match. I'm so looking forward to her next book.

Fun series

I've enjoyed this series, the mystery, the intrigue, & the romance. Faith was my least favorite of the three heroines. She was annoying at times but not enough to ruin the story. Taylor from Moses book was my absolute favorite & a hard act follow. Overall, I love the way this author takes time to develop characters who feel like real people with real lives. It really allows readers to become invested in not only the romance but also by solving the case. I like Gavin as a side character. I'm not sure I'd be interested in his own book. But that's just me.

Good read

This book was full of action and intrigue which I loved. It was somewhat light on the romance (seemed more a by product) and again my main gripe still don’t know what Faith looks like. She 5.5 and has a bob and is black. A bit short considering everyone else got a full description. After the scene at the hotel, it would have been nice to have a scene between Francesca and Faith if only to thank her. Also we didn’t get to know how/when she decided to move to Versek

Cowboy Coming Home!

I can’t get enough of the men from Versteck Valley. Drake story was just awesome. I love the interaction between Drake and Faith, I love how he made faith filled at ease. I like how drake showed faith that she can put her trust in a man again, and how Drake and Asher both earned her respect. I cannot wait to read Gavins story, He definitely needs to find a lady love.

Drake

This was an interesting and amazing romance novel. Drake and Faith's romance story began from a client disappearance. It contains drama, betrayal, hope, dreams, deception, suspense, intrigue, and finding true love. I will be recommending this series to everyone I know!!! Another great series Erosa Knowles!!!!

Enjoy the action didn’t believe a love story

I thought the live story was better between the supporting characters and I did the main characters but I loved the action portion of the book I just didn’t feel the chemistry between the hero and heroine heroin the whole time I thought they were just a booty call

😎😎😎

It is hart to review this book, I wondered how drake would fit into the first tech valley life style.
As in book one and two, there are so many people within the story it’s sometimes difficult to keep up with what is happening and who is who. Sometimes it would be nice to have a deeper view and more elaboration on each character.
Overall a very good series.

Drake and Faith

Loved these two. Man this story was fast moving and the right amount of intrigue those of us who love mysteries need.
This whole mash up with Francesca and her Lover was crazy, so many moving parts.
I was so happy to see Gavin again. Yes please write a book featuring him. This time I hope for a lasting love for him.

Wonderful

This was a wonderful book to read on a sunny Saturday! Versteck Valley is such a special place and even though most of the book takes place elsewhere, the specialness of the people of the town shines through.

Absolutely loved seeing Gavin again and yes, he needs his own story!! I've fallen in love with Versteck Valley. Totally enjoyed this series. Faith was a bit much, but I eventually warmed to her. She and Drake made a great couple.

Good

Good writing but this reader was more intrigued by the Senator and Francesca's relationship than Drake and Faith. Maybe Faith 's backstory needed a little more work.

Head over heels

Faith is head over heels in trouble with a client and turns to her friend for help. Gavin introduces Faith and Drake, and they fall head over heels for each other while working to solve the case.

Yes

Love the stories. All three stories. And yes I would love a story about gavin. Just make sure he does not go back to susan, but give him some one who will stand by her man aleast a year of eating before pressuring him to marry after you three months after you start dating. Thanks
