Attending the wedding of friends brings together Starr Taylor and Spencer Kensington but with events from their past, a theft and staying on a ranch will either force them apart or bring them together in this delightful romance.

Spencer had been a rebellious teen, seeking his parents' attention but now he's put his past behind him and is a highly successful lawyer with a reputation as a playboy. Starr was a highly talented skier, an Olympic hopeful whose dreams were crushed when she was trapped in an avalanche and lost her job, her boyfriend and ability to go back on the ski slopes again. When Starr sees a young teen who she'd previously helped learn to ski being arrested she rushes to intervene. It turns out he stole Spencer's wallet. As she enlists Spencer's unwitting help with the perpetrator, he discovers that maybe there's more to life than he'd previously thought . . . and dreams need to change as you discover that what you'd strived for might not be your route to happiness...

This is a story about facing and overcoming fears, daring to follow new dreams and learning to trust. It is a lovely, heartwarming story where reevaluating the past and considering the present help show an alternate route to achieving new objectives and finding love and happiness. A great read from this talented new author and a story I have no hesitation in highly recommending.

I requested and was gifted a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest review after choosing to read it.

After almost losing her life, & totally losing her nerve, in an avalanche, Starr’s life has fallen apart. You can’t be a champion skier if you’re afraid to ski the mountain. Her boyfriend calls it quits & the company that she’s put her name, research & talents behind, has started to distance themselves from her. She promises herself that once her brother’s wedding is over, she’ll get everything straightened out. She didn’t plan on her soon to be sister in law’s best friend being a jerk that she’s attracted to.

Spencer isn’t one for family or marriage. He couldn’t turn down his best friend when she asked him to be the best man at her wedding. He’s more a short term affair without getting too close guy. So why is he so attracted to Starr? Why can’t he walk away?

This was an enjoyable entertaining story. Starr needed to regain her confidence & her ability to face her fear. Spencer needed to learn to trust again. The story has some side stories that help build momentum towards the end & the final between Starr & Spencer. The supporting characters add to the depth of the story & JJ, Starr’s autistic nephew, adds color & another dimension. The interactions between him & the two main characters were an enjoyable part of the story. The depiction of his character was realistic. Overall, this was an entertaining story that was easy to read & enjoy.

After a traumatic experience Starr not only lost her boyfriend, but it also caused her to be afraid of the sport she has loved since she was a child. She is trying to pick up the pieces of her life without letting those closest to her know what she is going through. She is distracting herself by planning her brother’s wedding, but she never expected her future sister in-law’s best friend to turn her life upside down.

Spencer is a high profile corporate attorney who is focused on his career and doesn’t have time for love or relationships and has created quite the reputation for himself when it comes to women. He was in town to attend his best friend’s wedding and was supposed to leave the next door but when Starr convinces him to help the boy that stole his wallet it causes him to re-evaluate his life.

This is a slow burning heartwarming story about love, family and realizing what is truly important in life.

Wonderful sweet read that me hours of entertainment leaving me with a sigh and a smile. Troubled Starr touched my heart and Spencer was just so cute! The author did a great job of developing these characters and letting their story flow from the pages of the book. I've enjoyed both stories in this series and I'm looking forward to more. I definitely recommend this one.

Whilst this is a tale of never judging a book by it's cover, this cover does do the story justice.

I very much enjoyed this tale of troubled Starr and confused Spencer. Both main characters were incredibly easy to like and empathise with, I could feel myself building an easy connection with them both. Even Starr blowing hot and cold felt understandable given recent events and a controlling ex.

There are quite a few sub-plots running through the book and, whilst they added a lovely depth and richness to the story, I do think they distracted from the romance element a little. I felt the chemistry between the couple, and we had plenty of confuddled feelings from the pair but I wasn't 100% convinced I'd seen them fall in love. I needed just a touch more passion, I wanted to be swept away by emotion a little more.

No Hearbreaker Required is still very much a full of feels book, in the main emotions and feelings were really well portrayed. JoAnn Sky is very much a talented writer who makes reading feel so easy. That might sound an odd thing to say but I've read enough books where it feels as though I'm having to put in effort to get through it. It is never an issue with this book, the story just flows really smoothly, carrying you along in its gentle embrace.

As mentioned before, there are several story strands running throughout the plot. I liked how it added colour to the palette, painting a whole picture for us rather than providing a sketched outline. It also allowed us to gain valuable insight into both Starr and Spencer's personalities, to see them grow and connect as the story progressed.

Whilst there are some steamier scenes, not only is this fairly slow burn but it is also a fade-to-grey book. However that didn't make it any less enjoyable of a read but is a plus for those who don't enjoy graphic or copious sex scenes.

I was easily drawn into NO HEARTBREAKER REQUIRED and completely enjoyed Starr and Spencer’s journey to an eventual happy ending. At one time Starr was an Olympic hopeful skier, she had the talent and was on the fast track to success when an avalanche happened on the mountain. While not physically injured her confidence floundered as she was terrified of returning to the mountains again to ski. The same day her boyfriend basically dumped her, and the company she’s sponsored by is slowly pulling away since she isn’t really competing in her sport much due to her panic attacks at even thinking of going back up there. Starr’s had a lot happen to her in a short time, yet she also knows she’ll come out the other side one day, just not today. In the meantime, she’s back home in her small town, working with teens and trying to put her life back together again. Right now she has a wedding to get through as her soon-to-be sister-in-law’s maid of honor. She’s happy for her brother and his new family but feels the lack of someone special in her own life.

Spencer is in town for his best friend’s wedding and to act as Best Man. He’s not really thrilled to be here as he feels the need to be back in New York dealing with a client there. As a lawyer, Spencer shines, as a man, well, he’s more the woman of the night kind of player who never intends to be shackled to one woman the rest of his life. His disbelief in love and happy forever with one person is obvious to all, but he’ll suck it up for Grace and give her his best. The last thing he expected was to be attracted to a woman who obviously wants nothing to do with him, have his wallet stolen and end up fighting for the kid who did it, being charmed by Grace’s new family and new town or having second thoughts about what he really wants out of life. His feelings for Starr are too strong to ignore, now he has choices to make – and a woman to convince that anyone, even him, can change.

I loved running into old friends from the first story in this series, NO COWBOY REQUIRED and seeing them play such an important part in this one. While I would recommend reading this as a series from start to finish if you cannot then there is enough information given in dialogue and narrative to not be the least bit lost. I enjoyed watching the changes in Starr and in Spencer. There are several threads running through their romance that there is always something happening at that moment. It didn’t feel like too much, yet it did keep me on my toes throughout. Theirs is more of a slow burn romance with a fade to black scenes, but enough chemistry to use your imagination. I had fun with NO HEARTBREAKER REQUIRED and would not hesitate to recommend it to any Romance reader.

I received an e-arc of No Heartbreaker Required by JoAnn Sky from Entangled: Bliss in exchange for an honest review. This has in no way influenced my thoughts and feelings about the book.  I wasn't expecting much from this book honestly.

I just wanted a quick read that I could delve into. And you know what? I was pleasantly surprised. It's one of those books that you can read in one sitting and just enjoy reading. And while I didn't get too much from it, it was a good read.

No Heartbreaker Required follows Starr who is trying to get her life back on track after a freak accident. To do that she helps plain her brothers wedding. But when that is all over and Starr has to go back to 'normal' life, how will she fare? But trouble isn't far away in the form of Spencer. When Starr and Spencer first meet it didn't go too well, but they need to play friendly for the bride and groom.  But then plans change all around them and Starr and Spencer are about to see a lot more of each other.
This was an easy book to get into. It jumped right into and didn't really play around - which I really enjoyed. I find that sometimes, there is too much explanation given where there doesn't need to be. But this was a great combination of letting the readers know about the characters and the story moving along.  And that really stuck throughout the novel.

I really enjoyed the pace of No Heartbreaker Required. It was a good combination of being fast-paced but also slowed down when needed. In saying that I did feel at parts I was hanging for a little more and it was all just brushed over.

Starr was a pretty easy protagonist to get along with. But I also didn't feel any real connection with her. I think that is one of the things that No Heartbreaker Required did lack.  I felt that there wasn't much character building. Starr just didn't feel fully real at times. In saying that I liked how she did grow, the reader is able to see Starr at her worse and then build up from that.

Like Starr, Spencer was easy to read, but I again I felt that he lacked substance. I really wanted more from him, but I felt that the reader doesn't even get to know him until right at the end. I also wanted to like Spencer more, but because of the lack of connection, I felt that he was boring.  While I didn't fall in love with the protagonist, I did like the storyline. I felt that it was engaging and I wanted to know what was going to happen next.
I also liked how the author included diversity. Starr is suffering from a form of PTSD at the start of the book from a skiing accident. And while I wish she delved into it a little more. I did like that she included and the reader was able to see Starr try and overcome her fears.

Overall, No Heartbreaker Required by JoAnn Sky was a nice read. It's one of those books that you might pick up when you have no idea what to read. It's an easy read that when you finish, you just smile. No Heartbreaker Required has a great combination of romance, family and surviving. While this isn't my favourite romance out there, I really enjoyed reading it and will most likely read more books by the author.

Love comes when they don’t expect it!

Skier Starr Taylor was taking a break at the casino bar after finishing the plans for her brother’s wedding to Grace when she overheard the guy standing next to her giving the brush off to his date after he had spent the night at her apartment. Lawyer Spencer Kensington hated family weddings but since Grace was his best friend he was going to be the best man so he was at the bar while talking on the phone. Starr and Spencer are surprised when they figured out they were the attendants for the wedding.

Starr is dealing with the results of being in an avalanche in Europe and not being able to get back on her skis without getting flashbacks and trying to recover from it without telling anyone she was having problems. Spencer should have been back in New York to finish a business deal but after his wallet was stolen, he decided to help Starr with the boy because he had been that kid at one time getting in trouble.

Starr had traveled all over when she competed in skiing but still loved the small town she was from and Spencer was used to the big city where everybody was strangers but that all changed when Spencer stayed to help Starr with Matt.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Reviewed on my blog, Becky on Books, on 6/12/19.

No Heartbreaker Required is a sweet, feel-good romance. Spencer and Starr start out as not quite enemies but definitely not total fans of each other, and the back and forth between them for the first half of the book really move the book along. I also enjoyed seeing JJ (Starr's nephew by marriage) again and visiting Noah's ranch (the setting of the first book in the series).

The second half of the book wasn't quite as tight as the first--things take some complicated turns, and I wasn't always a fan of the choices and reactions either Starr or Spencer made and had. Still, the ending was satisfying and left me with a warm glow.

Though the second in the series, No Heartbreaker Required should also work just fine as a standalone--the details that it's helpful to know from book one (background details, really) are given to you here. Chances are, though, that you'll get just enough of a glimpse of Noah and Grace (and JJ) to want to make you go back to book one if you haven't read it already.

Rating: 3 1/2 stars / B-

This story shows that first impressions are sometimes wrong.

Spencer is a lawyer and is best man at his best friend's wedding even if he thinks that marriage means being shackled to one person.

Starr has developed a phobia after being involved in an accident.

Starr takes an instant dislike to Spencer when they first meet. Circumstances put them in a place where they have to tolerate each other. Only, Spencer has never been intrigued by a woman like Starr before. She is different to anyone he knows and the more he unravels about her, the more drawn he becomes. As they get to know each other, an attraction develops between them. The problem is that Spencer lives in New York whilst Starr lives in Reno. Besides, by trying to help, Spencer creates a situation where things become complicated. Can they sort out their differences and find a way to put things right?

This is a fairly easy to read story. It's a good concept, but somehow I failed to feel the chemistry between them. Starr's kindness shines and Spencer proves to be worthy where it matters. All in all, a fair read.

I was kindly issued with an eARC from Netgalley and the views expressed are my personal opinion.

This is the first book I have read by this talented author and it definitely will not be the last.
This one centers around Starr Taylor and Spencer Kensington .
Starr was on the road to becoming an Olympic skier, when an accident occurred on the slopes. Though not physically injured, the psychological issues have paralyzed her and she now fears the slopes. Add to that an ex that broke up with her on the same day of the accident, and her confidence is practically gone.
On her brother’s wedding day, she meets Spencer Kesington, BFF of the bride, and a successful lawyer from the East coast who’s known to be a playboy.
Neither expected the attraction, nor were they prepared for it. Spencer is drawn to Starr and jeopardizes his career for her. Baffling both of them. Starr has the heart of gold, and while she can’t seem to overcome her fears, will do anything for others.
The story is engaging from the first page to the last. The characters are complex and very likable. It is at times heartbreaking as well as heartwarming. A story that will definitely touch your hearts .

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and Entangled Bliss and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

This was a thoroughly enjoyable read. I really fell for Spencer and Starr. I absolutely fell for JJ (the young boy with autism). The plot was so real and heart-felt. I can't imagine what Starr went through and the after effect that she suffered through. Spencer, the typical alpha male, had women falling all over men but ultimately he fell hard for Starr. These two had some very funny spots in their journey to their HEA and some that were difficult because of miscommunication but ultimately the journey was completed very nicely.

I didn't feel at any time that the story felt forced or slow. The plot was well done and had a great sense of timing. I really appreciated the dual POV format. Seeing the characters' thought process (especially Starr's) was very well written and just wonderfully human.

The author eluded to bedroom scenes but was left to the reader's imagination. I would recommend this book to anyone.

No Heartbreaker Required is the second book in the series by JoAnn Sky. It begins with the wedding of Grace and Noah from the first book. Starr is Noah’s sister and the maid of honor. This is Starr’s story. It is a stand-alone book so if you haven’t yet had the opportunity to read the first book, No Cowboy Required, no problem.

Starr has had a bad year with a terrible skiing accident in which she lost not only her way in the avalanche but also in life. I liked how happy she was for her brother, knowing that in time she would find herself again. Spencer was one of those characters that I wasn’t anymore sure of than Starr was when she first met him. Over time Starr saw him differently and so did I. With several other subplots going on along with the major one for Starr and Spencer, this was never a dull read. I can recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a heroine who discovers her way and in the progress also helps others.

An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

No Heartbreaker Required is the second book in JoAnn Sky’s Biggest Little Love Story series and delights readers with the development of the relationship between Starr Taylor and Spencer Kensington.

Two complex and interesting characters, Starr and Spencer will draw you into their unique world and captivate you with their strength and determination. Starr has emotional barriers that result in a paralysing fear after her near tragic accident that has effectively ended her career path, so experiencing an all-consuming attraction to a confident and well-known playboy is definitely not high on her list.

But life throws the most unexpected obstacles in your path when you are least prepared, and all you can do is go with the flow and hope that the future is better than the past. Great story telling, intelligent and likeable characters, and a fabulous HEA to round it all up. I can’t wait for what this author has in store for us next.

Starr is a well known skier and hasn't been on the slopes since an avalanche caught up with her leaving her shaken. While she tries to deal with that because of a recent wedding she now has to deal with Spencer.

I wasn't sure how to write more of a description without writing too much about the story. If you like a good contemporary romance you'll like this. I enjoyed getting to konw the two characters. Starr has some confidence issues after her accident and with an ex like hers and you know what there was just too much going on for her no wonder shes having issues. Then there's spenser who was a bit of a pain in the butt, and while he was well intentioned it could be seen as pushy and communication between the two was obviously an issue. Overall this book was pretty good, I pretty much devoured this book today and just read from start to end because I really was enjoying the book that much.

Starr and Spencer!

Starr’s life has completely fallen apart after she almost lost her life in an avalanche. Now, she’s afraid to be on the mountain! Then her boyfriend dumps her, and her sponsor starts to back off. She just needs to get through her brother’s wedding and then she has time to figure out her life. Of course, now she needs to deal with the best man being a jerk! But she is attracted to him!

Spencer is a reluctant best man. He doesn’t believe in marriage or commitment, and he’s known to be a playboy. But suddenly he finds himself attracted to Isla and he doesn’t want to leave her as he knows he should.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read. I did not find myself invested in the story as much as I would have liked, but it was enjoyable in it’s own right.

I loved the story between Spencer and Starr. He grew as a character in from being a self-centered cad to becoming a man who thought of others and wanted to help fix their situations. And Starr found her self confidence and self worth again. I loved how the two were able to bring out the best in each other. They had so much sizzle and sparkle from their very first scene together. And it was quite refreshing as she turned the tables on him in every aspect of their "friendship." The glimpses of Grace, Noah, and especially JJ were loved. They are such a fun and interesting set of characters.

A small town romance complete with chickens and a goat. When Starr and Spencer first meet does not make a very good impression on her. She is a small town girl recovering from a major accident. He is a big city lawyer behaving like a cad. As they spend more time together Starr finds it hard to control her need to say what is on her mind. This freshness of speech fascinates Spencer who is normally dealing with people who hide their feelings. The longer he spends in the country and the more time with Starr the more they fall for each other. There is witty banter and a great look at how past events can shape your life.

No Heartbreak Required by JoAnna Sky a five-star read that will break you. I will be honest I almost gave this a four, as there were parts that it dragged a little and then felt rushed, but overall, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Spencer Kensington pushed me to my limits, I really didn’t like him for quiet a bit of the story, but one fist bump and a watch changed it all for me. Starr Taylor was similar, for parts of the story I wanted to shake her and then all of a sudden, I adored her, and wanted to see her win. I would definitely try this author again.

No Heartbreaker Required was a decent story but I just didn't feel very connected to Starr and Spencer. Their first meeting and even the first quarter of the book was really funny and engaging, and there was enough back and forth to keep me reading. But then it took a left turn somewhere and turned slow. Very, very slow.
I liked Starr, mostly. I thought she was stubborn when she didn't need to be and obtuse when it came to Spencer's efforts. I liked Spencer and I even liked them together. Still, for me this was just an okay read.

I tried so hard to like this book because it seemed to have the makings of something really captivating. However it never really seemed to get there. I enjoyed a few parts of the story but it wasn't enough for me to really enjoy it. I'd probably give this author another try in case this book was the oddball bad story, but I just don't recommend this read.

Book two of a series. Can be read as a standalone. I enjoyed the story. There was of course some angst as the characters really didn't like one another initially. The characters were well developed and we learned more about them as the story continued and as the characters changed. I would definitely recommend this book as well as this author!

This is one of those books that is a solid 3-star read and even bordering on a 4-star read because the characters are that darn likable. Well, at first Spencer isn't so likable, but he grows on you. Starr is more than a little lost, but she never really comes across as completely helpless. She's just lost her confidence in herself. These two rub one another the wrong way in the best of ways. This is easily a fast, fun, and entertaining story you can read in one sitting.

This was slow burn for me and while it was ok I wasn't sure that these two really fell in love. And also there were alot of little plots that even though it added some stuff to the story I felt it was pages of stuff that we really didn't need and so it detracted from my enjoyment.

Starr meets Spencer acting like a jerk at the beginning of the story, but he quickly tries to redeem himself at the wedding they are both participating in. I really enjoyed the way Spencer changed throughout the book and became a character you could really like and admire. A nice touch was this story included a child with autism which was handled very well.

in no heartbreaker required starr taylor is ready to think the worst of spencer kensington, especially when she overhears a call with a lady friend that doesn't paint him in the best light. unfortunately, he's also a key member of her brother's wedding and after he is waylaid in reno, her unwanted houseguest.

spencer has baggage, and starr manages to stir it all up, and he both hates it and needs it so badly. the more time they spend together, the walls and assumptions they made about one another fall away, and the connection between them grows beautifully. this is a sweet read, and a lovely second book in this series.

I really enjoyed this book, it was a love story and an inspirational story of overcoming obstacles and choosing to allow others in. The main character Starr was incredibly frustrating at times but I love when a character can make you feel things. It was a very nice uplifting read.
