What readers are saying: Debra always delivers... Couldn't put it down! Debra gives readers what they want. I've read every book Debra Clopton has written and as usual I couldn't put this one down!
Oh, this book was such a wonderful romance and a great beginning to a new series! I loved learning about Adam and Rosie’s backstories. It helped me understand what both of them had dealt with over the years. And it made me appreciate their newfound attraction to each other even more.
The author did a good job in this novel of introducing Adam’s family members and the people of Sunset Bay. I am looking forward to seeing Adam’s siblings find their happily-ever-afters in future books. This story made me wish I could visit this oceanside community in real life!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
I loved this story! The story is of Adam a trauma doctor that is tired and burned out and Rosie, the owner of Bake My Day a coffee/muffin shop in a small beach town. They are neighbors and Adam goes to her shop, not knowing it’s Rosie that owns it. He ends up helping her bake muffins for a festival the next day in town...They spend the next day together working at her booth at the festival. They then go surfing together and Adam helps her to rid her fears of it, which he does.. His mother has a family dinner and brings up that she wants at least one of her children to marry and give her a grandchild... I loved this story, will be reading more from Debra in the future, I highly recommend this!

This is a spinoff of Windswept Bay. It also takes place in Florida. This is the story of a baker and a doctor falling in love after both go through a rough time. There is surfing, fishing, gardening, biking, and baking in this story, too.
Longing for Forever by Debra Clopton is book 1 of Sunset Bay Romance. The Sunset Bay Romance series is a spin off of the Windswept Bay series but does fine as a stand alone. reading the earlier series will enhance your ability to notice and understand little details but is not needed to enjoy the story of learning to forgive yourself and to trust GOD. This is the story of Doctor Adam Sinclair, and bakery owner Rosie Olsen who have come to Sunset Bay to deal with life changing events. Adam Sinclair grew up in Sunset Bay and his family either lives there or still uses it as a home base. Rosie Olsen has decide to start a new life. Debra Clopton keeps use guessing with the high emotional issues but weaves a story that includes family, a group of seniors who love to meddle and the quiet slower speed of Sunset Bay to show peace can come as well as a life that is fulfilling. It is a wonderful start to a new series . I look forward to seeing what happens to Adam Sinclair's siblings and how the senior meddlers are involved.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Longing for Forever is the latest book from Debra Clopton. The first book of her new series Sunset Bay Romance and wow it's truly captivating,it didn't feel like a new series!as with all of Debras books, it's extremely well written and you feel part of the story and you are there with them. Sunset Bay follows the Sinclair family, yes these are cousins to the Sinclairs in Windswept Bay.so we are in for some real good stories.I highly recommend this book 5*+ Its so good you will really enjoy it .
Adam has escaped the city to evaluate his life as a trauma doctor. His native small seaside town is the ideal place to think.
Rosie is full of life and her mission in life is to spread a little happiness wherever she can. Her bakery is doing well and she is making new friends.
When she meets Adam, there is an instant attraction and they fall in love fairly quickly. The busy bodies and Adam's family make it an interesting read.
A great start to the series! I loved the main characters, particularly Rosie. I enjoyed her zest for life, and admired her fighting spirit. Rosie and Adam were really cute together, and it was wonderful to see them open up to each other. Although not my favourite by this author, it was still an enjoyable read.
This was cute but moved way too fast. The main characters go from not even dating to full blown love which made it a little unrealistic. Sweet, almost too perfect characters. Even their trials weren’t really made into a hinderance. If you like a quick romance read, with no drama than this is for you.
I’ve read other books by Clopton that I enjoyed. So I excitedly picked this one up, only to be disappointed. It’s slow and shallow and doesn’t seem like it’s been edited at all. I made it 2/3 of the way through before giving up.
2.5. I honestly forgot I was reading this for awhile... While a fun, sweet concept, and I liked the heroine, it all moved so fast and the writing felt sloppy.
The love story takes place in a small beach 🏖 town called Sunset 🌅 Bay . Something happens and Adam is not able to save a patient so he thinks it’s time to make some life changing decisions . That means it’s time to go home to Sunset 🌅 Bay. He buys an old bungalow 🏠 and gets ready to settle into a life back in Florida . Ocean 🌊 breeze , waves , and sunshine . ☀️ Adam meets up with a fish 🎣 snatcher , who is a pesky pelican named Seymour who is known for his shenanigans. He sees this pretty lady riding a bike and he learns she is his neighbor . She had a bag full muffins 🧁and she decides the muffins were meant for him . “Rosie owns the local bakery “ So get ready to start wanting muffins 🧁because muffins are mentioned a lot . 😋 Rosie is escaping from her past and she knows she has been given a 2nd chance at at life and she decides Sunset Bay 🌅is the best place to start over .Make new happy 😊memories and run her bakery . I loved this book so much. I was completely enchanted by the story and the characters in it.
What I truly appreciated about this book was the lack of the standard romance novel plot devices. There were no Other Women/Other Men. There was no scheming ex. There were no hateful relatives. Nobody was closed-off, immature, or emotionally stunted. The reasons why Adam was reluctant to enter into a relationship with Rosie were valid. His career and life were in flux and he needed to figure it out before he could be with someone. It made sense.
What this book is/was is a book about two extremely likable characters finding each other and falling in love. Rosie is a survivor. Unlike many books were somebody survives, she doesn't turn bitter and closed-off. Nope, she decides that she will spread joy to others. She is one of the sweetest characters I've read in a long time. Adam is a good guy, a really good and caring guy who got burnt out from a high stress job. He blamed himself for something that wasn't his fault. However, in spite of this, he doesn't completely close himself off from the prospect of romance. He is so sweet and caring with Rosie, he may have made me swoon a couple of times.
There were a couple of things that weren't addressed in this book. Does Rosie have any family? Where did she get the money for her bakery? What happened to her in Hawaii? Did Adam decide to stay at the family practice? Those are just questions that I would have liked answered in this book but it didn't diminish how much I enjoyed this book.
This is a clean romance with no swearing or cursing. God is mentioned often in this book but I wouldn't consider it a Christian romance.
This was a quick and pleasant read. The story is sweet and the characters are great. Adam and Rosie are two people who deserve to find love.
Adam is a trauma surgeon who returns home after a surgery turns tragic. He is burned out and needs time to figure out what is next in his life. He comes home to help out he town physician in the meantime.
Rosie loves this town. She came here to start over in a place where no one knows her past and can feel sorry for her. When life handed her a second chance she decided to accept it with open arms and a positive outlook.
These two are neighbors and they happen into each other’s lives naturally. Her good nature lifts his spirit and he can’t get enough of her. Neither was looking for love but they found it with each other.
This was a clean, sweet romance between two very deserving people. I loved the good nature of the story. It was a little short and sweet. The relationship developed in a matter of two weeks it seemed. The details, although there in some instances, where missing in others. Overall I enjoyed this feel good story. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sometimes what we need in life is a heart-warming and sweet story that is simply pleasant to read. At its core “Longing for forever” is about overcoming painful memories and helping others to make their life a little better (one orange marmalade muffin at a time). “Longing for forever” was the first book I read from this author, but definitively not last. In this novel, Debra introduced Adam’s family members and the community of Sunset Bay. The place is safe and idyllic- people are baking, surfing, fishing and gardening. Obviously, not everything is “kisses and roses”, and everyone has their past experiences, and Adam needs to decide if he will control his past, or will he let the past control his thoughts and subsequently – life. My main criticism is that the author uses too many repetitions. Because the book is very short, you have a feeling that you read the same storyline twice. I would definitively recommend this book as a pleasant Sunday afternoon read. https://loveromanticstories.com/book-...
Longing for Forever by Debra Clopton Sunset Bay Series Book One Doctor Adam Sinclair had lived his dream. He left the small town of Sunset Bay and had become a trauma doctor. He loved working under pressure and stress. Until Chicago. When something didn't go right, Adam blamed himself. Left. And now, he's back home and trying to decide his next step.
Rosie Olsen had a “rosy” outlook on life. Always happy and cheerful and out to cheer others up. Her bakery, Bake My Day, was her place to spread love and joy through coffee, muffins, and other goodies. Life was great.
Rosie's sunshine was just what Adam needed in his dark world. Now, he just had to decide if he could stay...or if he was going to leave again. Great story. Looking forward to Adam's siblings’ stories. This Sinclair family are cousins to the Windswept Bay family. https://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com...
A spinoff of the Windswept Bay series, this first book in Sunset Bay is a wonderful clean and sweet romance. The story belongs to Doctor Adam Sinclair, and bakery owner Rosie Olsen. He’s back home after the death of a patient he feels responsible for, and Rosie, new to the town, has moved there to start her “new” life. Both have had life-changing incidents that have made them take a look at their lives . While one lives in darkness, the other one spreads sunshine. As Adam and Rosie develop a friendship , both are hesitant to take it further . Will Adam move forward and realize Rosie might be “the one” or will guilt keep him from taking a chance? This is a story that is at times heartbreaking, and at others heartwarming. The complex characters will touch your hearts, and the secondary characters promise to keep you entertained. Looking forward to more stories in this series. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
If hou need a happily ever after sort of story that is clean, where sex waits for marriage & people actually have self control. A sweet story of dreams mended & love realized, of overcoming painful memories & making not just your own happiness but also the happiness of others, then read this. Rosie loves to bake & shes quite good at it. She runs a coffee shop, & she donates muffins to the nursing home, along with coffee. She gives people baked goods to welcome them. She has a sunny disposition. Her new neighbor is a trauma physician, burned out & questioning himself over the death of a 10 year old patient who came in with a severe gunshot wound. The child doesn't survive & the he's trying to deal with the loss. The way this all sorts out is intriguing, if a bit fornulaic. Nevertheless, it is a pleasant read.
What a fantastic start to this new series which revolves around the Sinclair Family in Sunset Beach. In this story we get to know Adam Sinclair who has wanted to be a trauma doctor since he was a little kid. But how will he cope with burn out and losing a young patient? Will he find the answers at home?
Enter Rosie Olsen, owner of Bake My Day bakery, and who has a sunny disposition. And who just happens to live next door to the cottage that Adam has just purchased. Is it by chance that he found this cottage or was there a little matchmaking at play?
Love the range of emotions you feel reading this story, the humor, Seymour the pelican, and watching the development of the relationship between Adam and Rosie. Can't wait for the next book.
A quick read but such a tender story! Adam Sinclair is a sensitive trauma doctor who is grieving the loss of a ten year old patient. His new next door neighbor, Rosie owns Bake Your Day. Rosie is still recovering from near death with cancer and has determined to be a positive influence to others. You'll enjoy the humor from Rosie's older friends and a nursing home wedding! Adam and Rosie are wonderful characters in Longing for Forever! I recommend Longing for Forever by Debra Clopton to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance. I received a complimentary e-book from the author. This is my honest opinion.
"Longing For Forever" was an enjoyable read. Adam is a trauma doctor. He was burned out. He had a ten year old boy to die on the table. He blamed himself. There was not anything else that he could have done. His brother talked him through it. He was one of six children. Four boys and two sisters. His mother wanted to have grandchildren. None of them were in a relationship. Rosie was Adam's next door neighbor and owned the Bakery. Rosie had a history, but not what you think. I think I gave away enough about the book. You need to read it to find out all the details.
Longing for Forever (Sunset Bay Romance Book 1) by Debra Clopton I enjoyed reading this heartwarming story about 2 neighbors who were trying to overcome things from the past. The matchmakers were persistent and had a bit of help from his family. It took a bit of time and then Adam and Rose could see they had liked each from their first visit caused by a pelican. Wonder if that thieving pelican was a matchmaker in disguise? Longing for Forever
Longing For Forever is the first book in Debra Clopton’s new Sunset Bay Romance Series. It is wonderful. Dr. Adam Sinclair, burned out and grieving over the loss of a ten-year-old patient, whom he believes he should have been able to save, has come home to Sunset Bay to re-evaluate his life. He meets Rosie who owns a bakery and is trying to restart her life after being cured from a very rare, often fatal, illness. Can the two of them start over together? This is a five star book that you need to read. Am anxiously awaiting the next installment.
I thoroughly enjoyed this new series about the Sinclairs of Sunset Bay and the eldest son, Adam, is featured here. Adam has burned out after years of working in the trauma units of hospitals in major cities and comes home to Sunset Bay to heal and find a new life. He doesn't expect to fall for his beautiful and optimistic neighbor, Rosie, but she brings sunshine and happiness to his life. Rosie has faced deadly illness and is thankful for her new life. Rosie and Adam are an inspiring couple and I can hardly wait for the next installment in the Sunset Bay romance series.
Rosie Olsen has opened a bakery, after beating the ravages of cancer. A new area, a new start. Adam Sinclair came home to seek his purpose of being a doctor, after a tragic loss of a 10 year old shooting . Finding themselves as neighbors on the beach, they find more than what they bargained for. This is the first book of Debra Clopton that I have read, but I have found a new author, and will read more. Good, clean romance. I would recommend her series to lovers of Hope and love!
I love Debra Clopton's books. Those set in Texas are my favorite but this one was a good story. Easy to follow, only a few technical errors, fun and lovable characters...I love knowing what to expect when I pick these up. I felt the pacing was a little slow in a couple places, but overall, this is the perfect cozy, feel good kind of book I look for at the end of a super busy or chaotic day. If you enjoy clean romances with fun characters, give this one a try.
Really interesting story. Rosie had moved to Sunset Bay and opened a bakery shop. She was building a successful business. Lulu was her friend, came by every morning for coffee and a pastry. Brad had returned to the Bay after living in several cities, with Chicago being his latest location. He was a trauma doctor and had seen many tragedies. He was home trying to recover from something that happened in Chicago. Rosie and Brad met when he stopped by her bakery. You will enjoy this story.
The author had a great storyline. The build-up of the characters slowly as it helped bringing in their backstory. I didn't cringe at the editing. Good job editor and proofers!
What I didn't like and I have said this before, the vocabulary needs to be brought up a notch. Not to sound rude but the author has written quite a few booms. Give the readers a bit of a challenge reading. If the reader doesn't know the definition, it is right at her finger tips.
I have read several works by Ms. Clopton, several of which earned a five-star award from me. I found Longing for Forever to be both interesting and entertaining and to be free of distracting editorial deficiencies. I also found the characters to be both believable and human and I greatly appreciated that Ms. Clopton honored her readers by adhering to clean writing standards. However, it took me a full two weeks to read the story. Why? Because the story did not keep me so involved that I was continually looking forward to picking up my iPad to see what was going to happen next. Four-stars.
