This book covers the evolution of reptiles, starting with their humble beginnings in the Paleozoic Era, through to the Cenozoic (with the Mesozoic appropriately in the middle!.)

The presented pages are somewhat simply layed out, but perfectly functional.
The Prehistoric animal's bullet points are simple and uncomplicated, especially concerning the Scientific name of the animal, this is made very easy to read correctly and seems to be fairly accurate in terms of true meaning (I speak from experience!.)
The information that follows varies depending on the space it shares with the corresponding animal, which are all beautifully painted by the Author.
There is a big emphasis on the animal's size being compared to this book's target audience (12 year olds and above) which is a clever idea, as this would be better size represention for them than an adult, which a lot of books use.
Nice to see Pelycosaurs and other Permian reptiles getting some coverage, as usually they tend to show up infrequently in books.

Recommended as a mid-level difficulty book for a younger audience.
