All paths have led here. They'll succeed or die.

Valrin and the crew descend into the depths of an ancient crypt. They seek a ring still upon its bearer: a necromancer locked away from all for thousands of years.

Aieclo erupts around them. The crew follows in the footsteps of a deranged soul and Marog, the cursed darkness of Eliue, nearly had them once before.

Soon comes the moment for all workings of time to converge on a nexus point of all that has been veiled by the Clockmaster's Shroud.

...Love. Loss. Revenge. Nothing will be the same after this.

I enjoyed this book, again lots of action, interesting characters, less confusing than previous books but still a little muddled to me. As much as I like this book and series there is something that makes it less than perfect. I will continue though

Finally, The Clockmaster’s Shroud has ended. Hopefully things will get better from here out, because they haven’t been really very good in this section of the Stormborn Saga.

While interesting in idea, the majority of the book isn’t well done. The greatness of the scenes is overshadowed by a general lack of coordination. It seems like the actions are all jumbled together, and the characters seem oblivious to each other’s actions or at least don’t react to them.

The ending of the book was sad, but probably the best part. While I disagree with the author’s choices here (won’t say which ones because of spoilers) it is well done. I wish there was more description to it though. The wasn’t much said and things were hard to visualize.

Overall, I’m disappointed with this section of the Stormborn Saga. But time travel gets confusing and then things never seem to straighten out. A promising series of books that isn’t really working out the way I had hoped they would. Hopefully the next in the series will be better, whenever I get to reading it.

How can a book make you cry into your celebration cinnamon coffee?!

Shadow Cry is an epic conclusion to the Clockmaster's Shroud segment of this saga.

I was on edge for the whole book and while I knew some would end up dying—It's a battle right? The team can't all survive—I was not expecting those that did. This last battle is going to change the crew indefinitely, and that hurts my heart. But if we have learned anything from this series, it's that everyone has a choice in how they let their past define them. I look forward to learning how these events will define this crew.

I fear for where this series is going, but seeing Valrin's journey is clicking things into place within the Half-Elf series. He needs a hug, and a 12 year siesta after the events in this segment. But I doubt he is going to get anything other than more battles.

Looks like the only thing on the menu for these guys is revenge with a side of saving world.

Another amazing book in this series. Valrin and the crew enter a crypt and danger lurks. I totally loved this story. Ready for more.

This was better than the last and had more dragons. Yet I still find that there is still too much duologue however there was more action in this one. So I was still able to enjoy it.
