A very good book!!!! I would put down only to pick up not long after because I wanted to know what happened next. A GREAT ending, usually when I read a good book, I am usually disappointed with the ending. With this book instead of disappointment with a bad ending, I was like you lying bast***. Would definitely recommend

Experience this truly terrifying new tale from Caroline Clark. This author writes some of the scariest things I’ve read in the past two years.

Jenny decides to pay her parents a surprise visit shortly before her thirtieth birthday. Her parents have always wanted her to be part of their business, a business that deals in magic. Jenny has always been a sceptic, but lately she has been thinking she should listen to her parents, maybe give the family business a chance. It just might be the right time.

When Jenny arrives at her parent’s house it is to discover their recently murdered corpses! Doris the housekeeper is missing. Her father was such a strong magician. Who would have been able to do this? The only person she can think of is one of their closest friends. Who can she trust?

As Jenny kneels in shock over this murder, Robert, her parent’s financial advisor, arrives. Robert immediately takes charge. He ushers Jenny away from the tragedy to stay at his house until they can be sure she is safe.

Jenny is emotionally paralyzed by the trauma. She has a hard time thinking clearly. Her constant fear is that the killer will find her. Is she truly safe where she is? Where is Doris? Did she become a victim of this vicious killer too?

Disappointing

This should have been right up my street, a book about magic ,demons etc but unfortunately I found it hard to read .I wanted to slap the main character for being so stupid, you find your parents murdered and you don't call the police ! The writing was repetitive and almost childlike at times, not for me,sorry.

evil stupid rubbish

I really don’t understand the point of writing this book. It was almost funny that the authour this book was proof read well, also that it was her favourite book. Just awful subject, senseless murder, gruesome bloodiness etc.

A bit repetitive and kinda predictable. I kept wanting to tell Jenny to use her brain! Ah well. Just not a favorite of mine.

Good story, but so riddled with errors and redundancies that it was hard to read. Desperately needs editing.
