To catch a serial killer, Kate Summers is undercover and assuming a role she swore she'd never endure again. Playing submissive to a noted Dom isn’t the problem. The problem is Jake Davenport doesn’t do pretend. He’s fearless enough to push her boundaries, challenge her rules, and has her questioning everything. As her investigation progresses, Kate falls deeper under Jake’s spell, but she refuses to lose sight of her goal. She’ll stop at nothing to solve the case and catch the killer even when Jake’s complicated past turns him into her number one murder suspect.

The story itself is good and certainly keeps you hooked but there are far too many questions left at the end which leaves me frustrated as there doesn't appear to be more in terms of Kate/Jake/Kevin/Lily arc. It just feels like the ending is rushed which let's it down. I also wanted more about Thomas and the Edge. I'm curious about the next ones in this series but have a feeling my questions will be left unanswered as we see Josh looking for redemption 🤔 🤷♀️
After such a big build up the end just leaves me disappointed. The title is misleading, why call the book Collared whe there isnt anyone collared in the book. Then there is the hatred Janise has for Jake, what happened? Follow that with the fact that there is no mention of how Lily and how she is doing. Im left so sad!
The characters were well developed, but to me as an avid mystery reader, the end was obvious from the middle of book one. If the story could have been wrapped up in two books, the pace would have been stepped up, making the story more suspenseful. To drag it out to a trilogy made it slow paced.
Alright, got to the end of Kate and Jake’s story. It got dark and brutal with serial killers and rape at the end, followed by trauma and PTSD. I don’t generally enjoy these elements in my smut. The premise of this series was fun and interesting. A Domme turning into a sub, which she secretly longed to be. The elements I enjoyed were when he was seducing her into submitting to him. I kept waiting for her revelation and their increased intimacy but it kept just getting close then something bad happened and it overshadowed the good. We never get to see those close moments between them unfettered or undisturbed and I guess that kind of bothered me. Josh was interesting, less one noted this time. I will likely continue the series, but not in a rush to do so.
Overall, the writing was good and the mystery killings were a good plot device though often unrealistic. Twin trope was pretty cliché. The union between Josh and Kate was problematic several times during the series and I wish those problems would have been discussed more. I felt the build up of what we wanted never ended up being fulfilled or shown on page. I would’ve much rather enjoyed more of that and less brutality and horror on page. Also wtf on how Lily got no other mention and we never really find out how she is doing at the end?
What a thrilling conclusion to Kate and Jake's undercover plan to catch a serial killer.
This has been an addictive series, I've been fully engrossed in the story from book 1. Full of suspense, that will have you on the edge of your seat. There's danger around every corner. It's also tantalizingly seductive. I love Jake in Dom mode he's very demanding. ;)
Kate and Jake both had roles to play and they played them well, but for Jake he wasn't acting having Kate as his sub was exactly what he wanted.
I absolutely loved Kate and Jake they're perfect together. They give each other exactly what the other needs.
Not a standalone, but a great finish to a fabulous series. Ellie Masters has created characters of depth. This is no formulaic standard read. Heroes, heroines, cops, bad guys, everyone has their own back story, their own baggage, their own heart. I recommend the series and a quiet corner with your favorite beverage. I binged all three books in two days. I'll miss everyone in the books.
The good guys win.In this third book of the series ,we find ourselves on the edge of our seats both in fear and excitement. With the good guys winning out.I would like to see more of this story.
I love Jake, he seems to always know the right thing to do. Would like to know what happened to Lily, too. This was an absolutely excellent series, hot and spicy all the way through.
Amazing ending to this book. I would like to see some of the other characters in their own books. We also could have gotten a bit more about Kevin & Lily at the end.
Love the trilogy Sext Steamy Exciting Alpha Male/Female Good storyline I did not see it coming until Book 3 However I did not care for the ending in book 3 Collar.. I expected a epilogue
