A grieving woman. A reluctant hero. A sweet escape.
It’s been a rough year for Callie Cooper. First there was the breakup of her seven-year relationship, and then her beloved grandmother died. But her grandma left her more than just a grieving heart. Before her death, she booked Callie an all-expenses paid trip to Kauai. Eight weeks in Hawaii sounds like the perfect escape…
Chase Edwards is anxious to escape the cold Michigan winter, his tedious job, and his cheating girlfriend. Luckily, he was able to take a much-needed sabbatical on the beautiful island of Kauai. He plans to relax, do some sight-seeing, and avoid women at all costs. But avoiding one woman in particular is easier said than done…
When Callie and Chase meet, they form a reluctant friendship. The more time they spend together the harder it is to deny their attraction. Neither of them wanted to get involved, but once they do, there’s no turning back. Will their time together become a fond vacation memory, or do they have a chance at forever?
Find out in Chasing Forever, book one of the Sweet Escapes series.
Callie Cooper and Chase Edwards meet in Kauai, Hawaii. They are each recovering from a broken heart and have sworn off the opposite sex. But Hawaii is a romantic place and these two are in neighboring condos.
Callie has had a very rough year. Her boyfriend of seven years ended things as he told her there was someone else. Then her grandmother passed away. She had been very close to her and was having a hard time dealing with her passing.
Chase is rethinking his choice of career. He is a divorce lawyer. All he sees is the bad side of marriage and people hurting each other. Then he discovers his girlfriend and his best friend going at it. He doesn't believe in love anymore.
When their paths cross there are some immediate sparks. They each ignore them. They are here for eight weeks to recover and protect their hearts. As they gradually get to know each other the sparks are really flying. They then discover they are both from Michigan and live fairly close to each other.
Can a blooming relationship between Chase and Callie help to heal their hearts? I loved everything about Chasing Forever. The setting...who wouldn't love Hawaii. Chase and Callie...you can't help but root for them. If you have read Susan Coventry before you know she doesn't disappoint. I am always looking forward to the next book by her.
Susan has done it yet again! I absolutely love all of Susan's books and I knew I would love this one as well - it just took me a while to get to her new series.
Chase and Callie have both been burnt by love and both decide to go to Hawaii for some time away. Neither are looking for love when they go - especially Chase - but with their friendship they start to feel for each other. Callie still believes in love but Chase doesn't. So this turns into a great story of Chase having to decide if he wants to try for a relationship or not. I absolutely love their story and I'm so happy with the way Susan brought the story to the point that they were ready to "chase forever". Now I've even more ready to go to Hawaii!
Loved this fun, sexy romance. Callie is a writer on vacation in Hawaii & meets her hunky neighbor Chase, a lawyer wanting to get away from it all. The funny, flirty relationship between them is so fun to read & enjoy.
This was a great read . This was the first time I’ve ever read anything from this particular author and I was really impressed . I fell in Love with the characters and the storyline was amazing too. Looking forward to reading what’s next.
It has a great storyline and the characters are believable. Well written but it's a steamy story very explicit and several pages long in that area so I skipped several pages several times. So if you like the kind where you need to grab your fan and fan yourself as you read it this is a great book for you if you're like me and you prefer not to read about your granddaughter's sex life, then you want to skip this one or plan on skipping a bunch of pages. This is a very good author and she knows how to tell a story just wish she wrote in PG 13 instead of very adult. Susan Coventry's books now has been placed on my do not read list.
The story really did pulled me in! I couldn't put this down until I was done and OMG I felt like I was really there with them! Can't wait to start on the next book in this series...But first I think I should nap because I don't think I'll be able to put that one down until the end either!!!
Great book.It was so much fun and exciting to read. The storyline was so good and well written. The characters. Are amazing. They made the story so alive & exciting to read.
This was the sweetest romance book that I've read in a long time. I loved the interactions of the characters and the thoughts of being in Hawaii for the place of their love. I'm sure everyone would enjoy reading this book.
