In one day, I get fired from my job and discover my long-term boyfriend is cheating on me. Guess now is the perfect time to return home and visit my dad while rebuilding my life. Turns out he’s on vacation and his best friend Theo is staying with us. Standing undressed in the bedroom doorway, he stares at me with hunger in his eyes, and the last thing I’ll do is deny him what we both want. When one passionate kiss leads to something more, what will my father have to say about us taking our mutual attraction all the way? This short and steamy story is first in a series of standalone novellas!
Violet Haze is a big fan of writing & reading romance. The autistic mother of one, she currently lives in Ohio and is self-employed. When not working or writing, she spends her days reading, procrastinating, & listening to her son play video games she doesn't understand, at all.
Greta loses her job comes home to find once again her fiancé cheating on her. Only this time he continued the act while she packed such class. While in the taxi she realizes Donavon had cheated and lied twice before. This time he couldn’t lie his way out and he had no remorse anyway. She decides to go home to her dad’s and regroup. Only she finds a naked Theo her dad’s sexy best friend instead.
You see her dad went on a trip alone he had been planning for a while. Since Theo and her father are business partners in a venture neither needs but to do that. Both are set for life. Theo is having a remodel done at his home so he is stay six-weeks with her dad. One thing more surprising than her dad being gone is what a great body Theo has for a man of forty-five-years. Making even a woman of twenty-three take notice.
What can either do about the feelings they each carry for one another? Don’t know for sure. Neither knows the other carriers feelings for the other, but think they might. Do they dare act on it? Or stand down because her father will be home and his feelings will enter into the mix.
I enjoyed the anticipation of a couple who are hot for one another. This author captured that. She captures the concerns they have of Greta’s father finding out. His reaction, her defiance yet empathy for where he is coming from. Yet, the love in the end that wins and how the author brings it all back together. I give this: 5 stars. Found this free on Amazon.
This was story was short, smart and surprisingly good romantic story. Greta gets fired from her job and then gets home and finds her boyfriend having sex with his personal assistant and thing is he has cheated on her before. This time Greta has had enough and having being fired made it so clear. She packed her bags and left the cheater. Her girlfriends are both married and they want her to stay with them, but she decides to go home and spend some time with her father, so she books a flight home. The things is when she booked the flight home she did not tell her father that she was coming home but she went anyways. When she gets home she finds out that her father has gone on vacation and his best friend Theo is staying at their house because his house is being renovated. The things is she tries to go past her father's room and go to get a blanket and turns around and finds her father's best friend Theo coming out of his room in the buff. She can't take her eyes off of his naked perfect body. So this is how the beginning of the relationship between Greta and Theo begin. The rest is what you need to read to see how her father, Colin reacts to Theo and Greta's relationship. It was good short read.
Greta is headed home for a needed escape after losing her job. Then catching her boyfriend screwing someone else in their bed. Or and continuing while she is packing up to leave. Sick bastard. That's when Greta decides to go home to have her dad console her thru this horrible period before going back out into the real world again.
Little does she know that her father has left for a vacation. While his partner Theo's condo is being renovated, his best friend said he could stay at his home. Greta wouldn't be there? She freaked out when someone other than her father steps out of his room. THEO? She falls hard the moment she sees Theo almost naked. Theo gets quite hot to after seeing Greta all grown up. They try to keep their distance but attraction wins out! OMG what a night & with a real man! Once the attraction settle in they both admit that they have had feelings for each other forever. Though never admitted they were attracted to each other. Now that they have given in how do they tell the most important person in their life?
Theo doesn't want to lose his friend & partner. Quick story, hot love scenes, a couple of editing errors throughout the book But overall a nice short hot read.
Insta-love, age gap romance that was cheesy but had some steam
It was okay. Super insta-love. I knew that coming into it because it was only a novella, but it still seemed way too quick. I felt there should have been more mention of feelings towards each other building up over time but being kept under the surface before they finally came together. It was also kind of cheesy, and Theo was a bit sweet for my taste considering his bedroom demeanor. What brought it from three to two stars may seem nitpicky to some, but I couldn't overlook the use of "cuz" instead of "because." I teach my students not to write the way they text, so, while I could get past some of the other mistakes, that one was too hard to swallow.
If you like quick, insta-love, age gap romances and can overlook the errors (which weren't too abundant or distracting), I think you'll enjoy this one. It was a freebie at the time I purchased it, so that's always a plus.
I liked this short story. It was entertaining and enjoyable. The characters were likable. There was a definite taboo element to this story with Theo being in Greta's life off and on since she was born. Thankfully, that wasn't focused on very much. Greta goes home to her dad's house after losing her job and catching her fiance cheating on her with his assistant. Once she gets home she finds out that Theo (her dad's best friend) is staying there and her dad is away. She notices Theo as an attractive man and he notices her as an attractive woman. With Greta being Theo's best friend's daughter any kind of relationship will be very difficult. They both have to decide if it's worth the risk. I loved their happy ever after. I recommend reading this book.
I read this out of basic curiosity and boredom, and can say while I didn't hate it, it also wasn't worth my time.
This was an older guy/younger girl romance as I was looking for, but it was poorly written, horribly paced, and continuously brought up how long Theo has known Greta through her life; which made the whole thing seem a bit weird.
Overall I didn't mind the story, and will possibly be keeping it on my ereader. But in future I'm not sure I will be picking up anything by this author again. I will also note that I am not a fan of the cover design.
If you enjoy wattpad type stories, you very well may want to try this novella. I liked the general idea and story, I just wish it'd be slightly better written!
The writing I was so jarring, it kept pulling me completely out of the story. It would go from weirdly formal, like this was written for a class or a professor to read. It would then go from being incorrect grammatically, to the sentences seeming almost backwards. The novella felt like the author is not fluent in English, which is fine and understandable, to be being disconnected. Like it was translated into English, and some of the translations being lost. Which is also fine, but could have been advised up front. The story was also moving quite slowly for what it is. Let the story be what it is and stop trying to make Fetch happen!

Review: This was a short novella of approx 67 pages and I read it the same day.
The storyline begins with a cheating situation and a 23 year old, Greta heading back home to her Dad’s place. It hooks you in straight away but then it just rushes to the actual falling in love part.💓
I would have enjoyed it a lot more if Greta and Theo’s story was just the beginning of the relationship - being the dating and the lust. I think the author rushing straight into Greta being madly in love is a little unrealistic, given she had been home only a matter of days.🤔
Greta comes home after losing her job and finding her boyfriend with another woman. There she finds Theo, who's staying at her house while his is being renovated and her father is on vacation. Theo finds himself realizing that even though Greta is twenty two years younger than he is, he loves her. Turns out she lives him too, but she's afraid of her father's reaction since Theo's his best friend. Pops isn't to happy about it but he gives in telling her all he wants is for her to be happy.
I personally don't enjoy books written in the first person and will stop reading them and the name Great reminded me of an elderly woman. I was about to stop reading and delete the book but then I noticed how feminine she was. She is really perfect and he's masculine. I loved how respectful she is. Not once did she emasculate him. I ended up loving the book so much. Well done, Violet!
Ugh. Could not finish this one. The writing felt out of nowhere and when writing a novella some authors have the ability to draw you in from first and well, this story didn't.
To be honest, I was annoyed from the first paragraph of the book. The fact that the heroine gave her cheating boyfriend a second chance, only for him to do it again, because, duh, was enough to make me not want to finish reading this.
So, yeah, did not finish this one. I have other things I would much rather read.
This story is totally amazing! I absolutely love this story. This story is about Greta being in love with Theo who is her dad best friend. The story start off with a shock and ended beautifully and a happy ever after. Violet writing is different but I love it. This is my first time reading from this author and she did a terrific job! Great work!
I have this all Stars because it's not the only story I've read from this author. This was barely a glimpse of what she's capable of writing. I recommend her stories to anyone with a bit of taboo fantasy mixed in with passionate love and intimate situations
First read by this author and it was a very cute and snort Novella of Greta and Theo. Greta walks in to see her boyfriend of 3 years Donavon. With heartbreak and losing her job Greta makes the decision to go home. What she was expecting was to see her dads best friend Theo. Whay happens when Greta comes home drunk?
This novella is an older male- younger female romance in which everything happens a little too fast to feel real, and I didn't like the man's point of view because he was a little too sure she would be his before he had asked her. I'm about his age and I can't imagine hitting it off with somebody who is just my children's age so it was a little hard to identify. But supposedly he was hot and I am not, so there is that.
I love a good taboo story and honestly this type of one usually doesn't work well and it is so bad... Normally. This was nearly perfect. I love the characters, the story, the buildup. It didn't seem rushed or careless. I loved it
I really enjoyed reading about Greta and how she fell in love with Theo. The age difference and being her fathers best friend make for some difficult challenges. Definitely worth your time to read what happens!
It was slow moving and I actually stopped reading it and tried to come back to it. Still didn’t feel the connection to the characters. Just felt weirdly forced and just uncomfortable.
For those of you that feel a thrill rush through you at the taboo kind of romance this read is for you. The whole book had me tingly with awareness. Extremely sexy, totally mature, and severely romantic.
I thought the story could of went in more detail about Greta and Theo earlier years to developed the story better. I thought it could of told more about the dads love interest. I gave it three stars but probably should of been two.
Not enough smut for me sorry, cute story but I never enjoy an ending when all the female lead wants is to be reliant on the guy and have a baby. I prefer more a independent mature female lead. Good writing I stayed till the end.
More of a love story than anything else. It was quick to blossom and after that it simmered before coming to a head and and end with HEA. The single sexual encounter was rather hot, just looked for a little more, but very, very touching

Unexpected love for sure. It can happen at any age. Would love to read a story about Colin and Diana. Colin stated his hesitation about yelling Greta about Diana because he's afraid she wouldn't understand. But I bet she'd be Diana's biggest fan
This book was good, but only because of the hotness between these two characters. However, there's no way this relationship developed over the course of some days or weeks. Just ridiculous. But I suppose that's not the point. Still, not a bad read.
This book was a nice change of pace from my usual genre of dark romance. Read it in one sitting although the story felt a little rushed and took quick to get to the HEA. However, it was great for what I needed. I will definitely read more from this author.
