Sweet Reunion - Maggie & Canyon knew each other in school. They ended up going their separate ways but are coincidentally back in town at the same time. Due to a broken engagement & some bad medical news, Maggie has sworn off men & relationships. Even if she was looking, Canyon is not a good prospect. While working on a cruise line, he led a fast & wild life that his hometown is gossiping about. No one thinks they'll be a good match now, except Canyon. Maggie is willing not to be friends. She doesn't think anyone will accept her condition. Just as they start getting serious, her ex shows up with fantastic news! What will Maggie do now?
I've never harbored such negative feelings about a character in a romance. I abhorred Maggie's ex. What an asshat! Maggie & her condition engage the readers sympathies but her ex's actions make that feeling even deeper. This was a nice, sweet romance that was a joy to read.
Each of the authors are wonderful. Having a resort town be the backdrop of family, love, starting over and second chances. It makes you want to take a little time for small town vacation.
I absolutely love good sweet beach reads, but not these.
The Matchmaker story was so technically in error that I couldn't even finish reading the third chapter. The author is clearly not aware of what is involved in marrying someone who is not a resident of the USA. You can't just marry them and miraculously their visa is renewed and they get to stay in the country. It takes 9 months to a year for your case to even come before the INS for consideration. She states in chapter 3, "It doesn't have to be a crime, you know." But it actually is a very big crime that will get you both jail time (5 years) and a $250K fine. "Why would they even bother with us?" Because this country does have a very diligent INS department that will track you down and prosecute you. She also writes that the government hadn't been helpful with rounding up child support. She clearly doesn't know that they are, and they garnish the wages of these fathers, then the funds are transferred through the government accounts to the mothers. That the author writes about topics of which she have absolutely not knowledge made me crazy and this book a fraud. It's also riddled with proofreading typos.
After that I skimmed the next three books and found them all unacceptable.
I have been provided with a copy of Escape to Indigo Bay: Four Sweet Beach Reads (Indigo Bay Sweet Romance Series) by the author for an impartial review. This box set has the following titles Sweet Matchmaker by Jean Oram, Sweet Illusions by Jeanette Lewis, Sweet Reunion by Stacy Claflin, and Sweet Holiday Wishes by Melissa McClone. I’ll be updating this review as I finish each title.
Sweet Matchmaker by Jean Oram
Sweet Illusions by Jeanette Lewis
I absolutely loved this book and getting to meet the Ben and Eva. This book is a part of the Indigo Bay Sweet Romance series and I loved getting to go back to this town and see some of the returning characters. This is the first book that I have read by Jeanette Lewis and it will certainly not be the last. I absolutely loved her writing and she just drew me into Eva and Ben’s lives and she created a world with beautiful characters that just tugged at my heartstrings. I was left wanting more. I can’t wait to read more by this author.
Sweet Reunion by Stacy Claflin
This book is a part of the Indigo Bay Sweet Romance series written by many wonderful authors. Ahhhh I absolutely loved this book and getting to go back to Indigo Bay. I am so excited that we finally get to see Maggie Kendrick find happiness and I just loved reading her story. It was just wonderful getting to go on this journey with her. It was just so much fun getting to go back to this great town and see all of the familiar characters. I can’t wait to see what next for this series.
In Sweet Matchmaker, Ginger and Logan meet and pretend to be engaged to get into an event for engaged couples in Indigo Bay. She ends up winning several prizes including an elopement package and the honeymoon cottage. Logan will lose his visa to Australia if he doesn't find a way to extend it with a marriage of convenience. He also has to think about his ward Annabelle with Downs Syndrome, who is in a special home in Indigo Bay and hates change. Annabelle is who wins Ginger over to agreeing to the marriage of convenience. But Logan is very secretive and it seems like he is up to no good. Will he be able to keep Ginger safe without blowing his cover? Nice summer romance with plenty of humor and action.
I read Sweet Holiday Wishes first: Lizzy and Mitch are on the verge of divorce. Mitch makes one last-ditch effort to save his marriage by inviting Lizzy on a Christmas holiday. Accepting because she really needs a vacation and wants to remain friends with Mitch, she has no idea what he's up to. Realizing he didn't do enough to foster the marriage, he's determined to change his ways, but he also knows: it has to be Lizzy's choice. Lizzy is reticent at first, but enjoying his company and seeing the effort he's making, her heart and resolve open to a second chance. Loved how this couple found the the spark to rekindle their marriage while enjoying the spirit of Christmas.
I have only read , Sweet Holiday Wishes by Melissa McClone but am looking forward to reading the other stories in this collection.
A sweet second chance romance over the Christmas Holidays. I'm such a sucker for these, and it was a pure delight to read. A quick read which is perfect for the holiday season!
Lizzie is a nurse, who is used to caring for everyone even for her soon ex husband. So this holiday season she is ba hamburg until Mitch shows up on her door step. Inviting her to Indigo Bay as friends, but his ultimate wish is to win Lizzie back. Will his wish come true this holiday season.
Behind every heartache is a silver lining, waiting to have it's turn. Indigo Bay is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. There's a storm brewing. Can four couples make it through the rain and find sunshine waiting on the other side? From bittersweet romance, to inspirational storytelling The Escape to Indigo Bay Boxed Set will break your heart, uplift your soul and have you believing in the power of love. Four voices. One melody. Emotional journeys. McClone, Oram, Claflin and Lewis make beautiful music together.
This is one of those books you just couldn't put down. Even from.the beginning you could actually feel how much he loved his wife. I was so afraid that she might not feel the same and not agree to them trying to save their marriage. Then as things went alone you just knew her heart was bursting with love too! You could feel the love between the two and how they both felt, wanted and loved each other. It takes both of them to make a marriage and both showing how much they loved, respected and wanted their marriage to work!
These give exactly what you hope for in a beach read. Sweet romances, men without a clue finally getting it, fun in the sun, Sandy beaches, soft moonlight, sublime kisses. So fall in love again, visit old friends and meet some new ones as I did. The characters are real, the southern setting charming, and happiness jumps from the pages into your heart.
Great Summer Reads!! Just finished this boxed set and I have to say, it was a perfect stress reliever at a time of need. LOL!! Four great stories that are unique, easy to read with lots of romance and sweetness going on. If your looking for some place to escape to and forget the worlds problems, Indigo Bay should be your destination! Highly recommended!!
Each book had some interesting main characters, and although set in the same location, added different aspects to each book. The story lines were very good, well written, believable and kept you engaged throughout 🙂. I would definitely recommend these for a lovely read and look forward to reading more from this author 🙂.
Love, spy's, and many laughs. Will they get the diamond smuggler, will the marriage of convenience turn into true love? This book was a page turner, not only was it captivating, and it will make you laugh and cry.
I loved the setting of these. I live in the center of NC, so we have beaches to the east and mountains to the west. I always enjoy reading books that are set in beach towns. I enjoyed all of the books!
It’s tons of fun for readers! But more specifically, it is a series of books written by authors who love romance. Grab a glass of sweet tea, sit on the porch, and get
