I adored this book. The characters are trying to cope with life, looking for forgiveness from others and theirselves, love and tolerance. It could have been a depressing tale, but it isn't at all. It's extremely well written, different POVs each chapter. The style flows nicely, one of the best reads I've had in a while!

The Tender Journey Of Two People Who Become Isolated From Society Following Pivotal Events In Their Lives And Find Safety In One Another Years Later.

This is the final book in the Hollywood Studs/L.A. Nights series. It does a great job of pulling together the five interconnected stand-alone stories.

Gemma Hart, thirty, winner of two Academy Awards, Golden Globes, and one SAG award, is a recluse. The British actress was betrayed by the two people closest to her about five years ago. Unable to trust anyone, she has isolated herself and now lives in a tightly controlled bubble with dwindling work opportunities. She barely speaks to anyone other than Sylvester Poole, her manager. Her constant companion is her Irish setter.

But when her contractor, Dominic Andreis, collapsed in her home last June and she didn't call 9-1-1 because the idea of strangers entering her home scared her, she received an earful from his son Nicky that finally opened her eyes to the fact that she needs to make some changes in her life. She consults Giovanni Mori, a psychologist, for help.

Adonis Andreis, thirty-seven, is a recovering alcoholic ten years sober. He hasn't had an urge to drink in years, but it is the guilt that he harbors inside that is slowly eating away at his soul. Twelve years ago he killed someone. It was an accident, but it was his fault nonetheless. His sister Zoe, who had also been one of his closest friends, hasn't really spoken to him since. She cannot offer him the forgiveness he needs. He floats through life, refusing invitations. It is better for everyone that way since he has a way of making people uncomfortable. Moreover, he doesn't deserve anything resembling happiness.

As a contractor, Adonis has followed in his father's footsteps. They occasionally work on projects together. So when his father collapses and is instructed by his doctor to dial things back, Adonis reluctantly agrees to finish his father's job working for Gemma Hart, the sexy red-haired siren. He hates working for celebrities and hopes to finish the job as quickly as possible.

Adonis and Gemma have a slow start, but after hiding in her bedroom for several months, Gemma eventually appears and makes a painful effort to speak with Adonis. She wants to dispense with her virginity before turning thirty; Adonis lives up to the meaning behind his name and checks all the boxes of what she is looking for. The problem for him is that one of the first things she asks is if he would like to shag. As attracted as he might be to her, the idea of a relationship terrifies him. He isn't relationship material. His dark past disqualifies him.

Adonis and Gemma's story brings together two lonely souls. Both are stuck psychologically. Adonis is paralyzed by guilt, Gemma by fear. One has destroyed lives, the other has been destroyed by the people she trusted. Step by step the couple works through their individual problems, but what they haven't worked out is what exactly they mean to one another and what happens when Adonis finishes his job. The couple eventually earns a tender, well-deserved HEA.

Dominic's love story is intermixed with Adonis and Gemma's for a sweet added bonus. It continues here from book four of the series, which has Dominic Andreis meeting Bridget Becker. The older couple earns an HEA.

Adonis and Gemma's heartwarming story shows the journey of two people who become isolated from society following pivotal events in their lives and find safety in one another years later. The POV alternates between Adonis and Gemma, with a few chapters written from Dominic's POV. It is well-written. The plot is complex. Not all loose ends are closed, however. The reader does not see, for example, whether Gemma is able to forgive Hollywood megastar Andrew O’Bryan for his manipulation and betrayal, which is important since it represents Adonis' own worthiness. The characters are wonderfully defined. I rate this book 4.5 stars.

I was given this book by Sylvie. I decided to voluntarily leave a review. This is my honest review.
This was a beautiful love story of people given a chance at both love and life some after thinking they'd never get the chance or even a second chance. Adonis is the builder and works for Gemma Hart a big movie star recluse, he presumes she's just stuck up and awkward. He'd taken the job from his dad after he'd collapsed on the job.
Gemma went the wrong way about everything not trusting anyone after she'd been made a fool of very publicly by someone she thought she could trust.
This book was great because it is about a few people, looking at how people blame themselves for others mistakes or just don't know how to handle situations, then how they find a way to show what they really want.
Gemma finds it hard communicating with others after being an actress since she was ten and not mixing with others her own age or people in general, she doesn't know how to express herself properly and ends up just locking herself away most of the time leaving everything to her manager. She's like a lost child. Adonis can't understand what's wrong with her but he also has issues to work out so also keeps himself to himself.
Dominic is Adonis's dad who hasn't had a relationship since he lost his wife when his children were young, he'd spent his life looking after his family and running his business, after his collapse he realises that life is to short and he needs to live it to the fullest and thinks that his lady friend Bridget that's helped him recover could be that but he isn't sure how to do the relationship thing, he's great at telling his kids how to do it, even butting in and helping out, but he's clueless with his own.
I loved the way there was so much going on in the book much like real like, not everything is boy meets girl they fall in love. Real life isn't always like that sometimes it throws you a curve ball that you have to re think what's going on. It's a complicated family much like most. It's so well written and I was hooked straight away. A great romance with a few funny moments which a cringe worthy but lots of love.
It's a series but I read it as a stand alone but I am going to read the rest of the series because looking at them most of the characters pop up in every book which I like, unlike some series which don't really have anything to do with each other. I'd recommend it to anyone that likes a great romance to curl up with you won't regret it.

A story of two people who have suffered pain but now can come together

Adonis is the builder working on Hollywood Actress Gemma Hart. She is a recluse not really having any friends other than her agent and therapist. Unbelievable she is a 29 year old virgin who wants to change that before she hits 30 in a few weeks. And ever since her builder had a heart attack and his sexy son Adonis had taken over She had set her sights on him but she doesn't know how to approach him. Adonis is a recovered alcoholic, something bad had happened when he was younger. He was taken aback when she asked him to help with her virginity and said no. But it isn't long till his dad is playing cupid and gets them to agree to a walk on the beach with her dog.
This is a great read, it was a slow burner for me but when it really started woohoo it was a brilliant read. Super excited to read more from Sylvie Fox

A slow burn with recovered alcoholic Adonis and legendary actress Gemma as they awkwardly built a relationship with each other.
Socially handicapped and dealing with past betrayals, Gemma in spite of being a mega star was shy, awkward, and naive. Adonis came with his own baggage and was drawn to Gemma yet equally repelled by the happiness she potentially represented.
Sweet romance as this couple had eyes for no one other then themselves. In spite of Gemma’s naïveté she was surprisingly level headed, pragmatic, and mature. Lots of graphic sexy scenes that highlighted this couple’s chemistry and connection. A sweet side story with Adonis and he’s sister and father.

This is Book 5 of the Hollywood Studs Series and my first read by this author, and let me just say that I am pleasantly surprised. I quite enjoyed the storyline, the characters, and the author's writing style. It is sweet romance between British actress Gemma and her contractor Adonis. It is a journey of self-discovery as these two flawed characters figure out a relationship between them with love and intimacy. It is a slow burn love story with drama, humor and steam, plus engaging secondary characters to keep the reader interested, and a happy ending. A good addition to the series. This book can be read as a standalone, but reading the other books in the series will enhance your reading pleasure.

Excellent contemporary romance between a carpenter and a movie star. Adonis has filled in for his father in refurbishing British actress Gemma Harts home. Gemma is a recluse who doesn't know how to live life. She was a child star and without a script and director isn't sure about life. Adonis is shocked when Gemma sees him even though he feels less than worthy. Both have had difficult pasts and have so many psychological issues to resolve to see if there anything for the now or the future. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms. Fox.

I received this audiobook free for an honest review. I wasn't sure what this story was about when I asked for it. It went in a direction I wasn't expecting with Gemma and Adonis. Great story with each of them having secrets that explain their personalities. Sylvia did a great job with the characters and the plot. The narrator did a great job with the accents and bringing out the personalities of the characters. The stories usually involve a dominant man, but this story appears to have a man whose dominance doesn't come out right a way. I look forward to checking out other LA Nights books.

This is a really great book and I definitely enjoyed reading it. I have read many of Sylvie's books and I have never been disappointed as she is a great writer and an amazing author. Gamma has gone into hiding after her ex put out a sex tape of them but the biggest shock is that she is still a virgin. Adonis what a great name is helping his father out by finishing of the jobs at Gemma's house. They have instant chemistry and connection between them but neither of them will act on it.
I definitely recommend you read this book as it is well worth reading.

Andonis is the black sheep. He had a massive accident that hurt his sister and had her lose her friend, it affected everything and forced them to not speak and him to withdraw from his family and relationships except with his dad.

Gemma had been avoiding the real world and now it was time to face certain things....

I liked learning more about Adonis and the bonus story about Domique and Bridgett.

This was a sweet redeeming story about second chances at life and overcoming the past while adding some steamy passion too.

Gemma became a recluse after being betrayed. Adonis doesn't believe he deserves a life after a tragedy over a decade before. Gemma decides to try and reintegrate into the world and figures Adonis is the perfect person to start the process. Adonis doesn't think it's a good idea, but later changes his mind. They share their secrets and a relationship emerges. Will Adonis forgive himself? Will Gemma stop being a recluse?I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

★ Slow-grow romance between a movie starlet and the contractor ★

—>>> This was a slow-grow romance between a movie starlet and the contractor working on her home. I believed all her awkwardness and social ineptitude as well as the incident in her past which tarnished her character. Adonis’s background also had an incident which had him blowing hot and cold, not daring to take what is offered with both hands, until he does. There was a POV in the story dedicated to the matchmaking efforts of Adonis’ father, who only wants his children to be happily married.

This was definitely entertaining and enjoyable story.
Adonis is a carpenter working on a Hollywood starlets house.
Gemma is a Hollywood star who has had her reputation trashed with a sex tape.
Knowing how Hollywood gossip works, Adonis has to decide to believe it or not.
But is not only him having trust issue. Both characters have them ,unfortunately. If they want to move forward with blossoming relationship first thing is overcome trust issues.

Adonis father collapses in the middle of the renovation so Adonis takes over from dad. Gemma as part of her therapy decides to preposition Adonis whom she is attracted to. Gemma is a sheltered child actress rather who has suffered a betrayal by her ex when he released a sex tape but she is still a virgin and Adonis who is a carpenter working at her home and they have a instant attraction and she wants him to take her virginity. This is complicated with some other behind the scene stories and some funny characters.

I was hooked on this from the beginning. The storytelling is phenomenal and sucks you right in. Adonis and Gemma are perfect! They are both trying to deal with their own lives and when they realize they're perfect for each other. They each bring out something in the other. There are other stories happening at the same time that it sucks you in to know how everyone will turn out. Loved it!

Recovery mode

They are both a little bit broken and in recovery mode.

Gemma Hart was an actor that made the transition from child actor to actor. Until a certain revenge tape was made public.

Adonis is her employee, well, he’s her contractor, complete with a tool belt. He’s filling in for his pops. He’s in recovery mode, too.

Can their broken pieces fit?

Story: I thought this was a nice story showing how even people with damaged pasts can find love in places they would never expect. Together, the characters found what they needed to heal in each other. Loved it

Narration: I thought the narration was great and had a clean production. Great job!

LOVE THIS SERIES!!

Adonis and Gemma are such beautifully broken characters and the love they learn to share between them and with his family is the wonderful glue that puts them back together. It's wonderful to see the whole family and to witness Dominic get his second chance at an HEA.

This is book 5 in a series and I had not read any of the other books. I don't believe it is necessary to read 1-4 to understand the plot and characters of this book.
I must admit that this book took me a while to get into. I just couldn't connect with Gemma or Adonis. However, i decided to trudge through to see if it finally caught my attention. I did finish the book and while it may not be one of my top reads it definitely wasn't a bad book.
This is a love story between a young English actress Gemma who has lived in a bubble and those whom she thought were closest to her betrayed her the most. And Adonis, who cannot forgive himself for an accident 10+ years ago.
As the two begin to learn to trust they are tested in several ways, each believing the other thinks they are not good enough or just enough.
I will probably read another book by this author to see if it was just the character that I couldn't get into to.

This started off strong, and I was loath to put it down for bed. But somewhere along the way it lost steam.
I liked the extra angsts-ness but the story of Adonis’ accident annoyed me. Why wouldn’t he tell his sister the truth? I also think that the secondary romance bogged it down.
