All paths lead to the throne.

Ann Valeran is the heir to the archdruid, a spiritual leader to the five lands of Almara. But her destiny is shattered when her parents are killed by her elder brother Urien and his demon mother Orla. Framed for the murder of her parents, Ann becomes a wanted fugitive with a high bounty on her head. Accompanied by her younger brother Xander and her best friend Edward Rohn, her former bodyguard, the rogue trio travel in their native land of Caselhelm.

Meanwhile, war has broken out in Caselhelm and magic has been banned by Orla, who now sits on the archdruid’s throne. Ann, Ed and Xander work with the resistance to protect magic users from Orla’s dark clutches, all while striving to clear Ann’s name. Along the way, they meet people from their past whose intentions aren’t always clear. And deciding to trust them may doom them to an even worse fate.

Bound by Blood is the first book in the Rogue of Magic series. With its exciting action and unexpected twists, this epic fantasy will leave you breathless. And as Ann races across her land to claim what’s hers, she’ll realise one thing: the strongest magic of all… is the love of her family.

Bound By Blood is a free book on Kindle! That's right free. In it, you will meet Ann. She is the heir to the Archdruid but destiny seems to have other plans for her. She is currently being framed for her parents untimely death and is now on the run for her life. Luckily for her, she's not alone. Ed and Xander are going to help her out along the way and hopefully they will figure out how to get the truth out and clear her name.

Honestly, this was a pretty fun book. The magic and the world were pretty interesting. As were the characters. Some of what happened was okay and a bit predictable but I still ended up enjoying this. I think I just wanted more twists or turns throughout this. Which is kind of weird to say because it definitely had some but maybe I wanted to be more surprised by them (in a way)? Not sure right now.

In the end, I'll be on the lookout for the sequel because I'm very intrigued to see what is going to happen next.

Fun magical adventure! Ann is strong and has some really cool magical powers; she’s a druid. She does have a couple bratty, rude moments, and she’s a little cold, but I still liked her. Lots of interesting elements and world building.

Ann’s father was the Archdruid; he slept around and was selfish in his quest for power. One of his mistresses and the son she has with Ann’s father, Urien, killed Ann’s parents and framed Ann for the murders. Ann’s father did some magical craziness, and Ann ended up trapping her evil half brother somewhere. Now, the mistress is out to kill Ann and her brother Xander, and find out what Ann did to Urien, so Ann is on the run until she can prove her innocence and take down the evil.

Along for the ride is her brother, Xander, and her best friend and protector, Ed. There a little pinch of romance, but both Ed and Ann withhold their feelings. They are feeling deeper feelings for each other, but both are scared to change their friendship. Loved how much they support each other, and how close they are. They have a sweet connection. Ed is wonderful! Ed ends up getting taken prisoner and ends up having a dangerous shifter side; he’s also having issues with his memories. The team is on the hunt to find out how to stop this powerful evil. Lots of action and intrigue! An entertaining read!

Super convenient

Needs a lot of work.
Jumps all over the place, with a very, very forced plot. Connections are created right as they're needed, instead of well before hand so they'd flow naturally. This was incredibly disjointed instead.
Rather repetitive with the action scenes that unfolded with little sense.
The only real interesting character was Edward, but even then, I really had to think hard to remember his name.

I read a copy of this as an editor and absolutely loved it. I don't want to say too much, but I am definitely excited about where this is going and I will definitely be continuing the series.

I received a digital arc in exchange for an honest review.

Instead of a traditional review, I am going to break it down into an interview with myself as a reader.

Favourite quote:
I have two, actually.

• ‘He just attacked us and you want me to get breakfast? What is wrong with you?’

• ‘Orla can torture me, change me into a beast, or even kill me. But my place is by your side. Always. I stay because I want to, not because I have to.’

What age group would I recommend this to?
Hmm, I would say ages 15 and up. There isn’t any mature content, but does involve killing and dead bodies which might be a trigger for younger individuals. Also some swearing.

How did I feel reading this book?
It took a bit to get into the story, but once that happened, I was completely immersed in the story, not wanting to put it down. I read it in about three days, because I just wanted to know more. I was curious about certain parts, especially about how Ann and Xander’s parents died and what exactly happened to cast the blame on Ann.

How were the characters?
Characters were good in the sense that I cared for the characters (the good guys, obviously). Given their circumstances, they didn’t act out of line or in a way where readers don’t like them. The only exception to this rule for me personally is Ceara, but you’ll see why when you read through this book. Ann, especially as the main character, is relatable in the sense that although she’s older than most YA protagonists, she still has a reasonable amount of angst and attitude toward certain individuals in the story based on her past. Despite this, she did not play the part of the helpless or useless heroine who has to rely on someone else to save her, she’s self-sufficient, confident, and likeable as a heroine.

What did I like?
Where to start? Well, I liked the fact that there was hardly any romance in this, and that the focus was on the story itself. The author stuck to the fantasy genre and did a great job with the magic system in that it was not too complex or outrageous. The concept of having that spell cast on Ann and her siblings was a nice touch, and I’m really interested in seeing how this will come into play in the following books. I felt a little bit empty upon finishing this book and wanted to know more. The scenes before the conclusion were the most exciting and will be an excellent starting point for the second in the series. Looking forward to it!

What didn’t I like?
The story was rushed at some points, especially toward the end. I know the author was trying to conclude the story as well as form a basis for the next book, but it didn’t give me a lot of closure in the sense that it didn’t feel much like an ending or a cliffhanger, but
more like a hastily tied knot. However, as there will be other books in this series, I’ll overlook that and wait for the next ones before judging the overall conclusion.

Overall rating:
4/5

Would I read this again?
Yes, definitely.

Would I read the sequel or any future books in this series?
Again, yes; for sure.

Overall:
This was a great read and definitely should be in the to-read pile for any YA fantasy lovers. With clean content and intriguing storyline, this one is not to be missed. I will be waiting for the sequel in anticipation.

*** I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.***

Wow!! This was an excellent book to read. If you love reading about druids and magic then tonsillitis this book. Tiffany Shand does not waste time with getting this story off the ground. The way she describes the characters in this book, my imagination just came alive. You get sucked into this book and get all the feels for Ann, Ed and Xander. The Main Character is Ann, and what she endures during this book is rough, but she is stronger did not without realizing it. She goes through tragedy not just once or twice but several freaking times. But she doesn't complain about it and she tries to help others so they won't go through their own tragedy. Everyone knows that you can run for so long until you have to make a stand. Oh my was there a stand, one I did not see coming. I loved how I was kept on the edge of my seat and wanting to see what was going to happen. I was captivated with this story that when I got to the end, I was like NOOOO! I need more I need to know what is going to happen. This is definitely 5 stars, it has intrigue, love, loss and betrayal. Geez the list can go on. Just read the book, you will not be disappointed!!

Oh dear Lordy am I a happy gal after finishing a massive binge-fear of Tiffany Shand’s Bound By Blood, Archdruid, and Bound by Fire (Rogues of Magic Series, Books 1-3). It’s lead character, Ann Valeran, is perfectly crafted and it’s a total pleasure following along as she grows from being the orphaned rightful heir to the archdruid, spiritual leader to the five lands of Almara, who is framed for her parents’ murder, through her becoming archdruid (a minor spoiler there) and dealing with threats to Almara and her friends. There’s wonderful story telling here and a superb supporting cast (special kudos to Ann’s half-brother, Urien, and to Edward Rohn, Ann’s guardian and best friend). A totally fun and wild ride. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.

Ann, Urien and Xander are siblings with Druid powers running through their blood. A revolt occurred that killed the Queen and King. Urien and his mother, Orla are responsible for these deaths. The King had been the archdruid and Urien wanted the title and power. But it transferred to Ann instead. Ann banished Urien with a spell. The three of them cannot be killed permanently because of a spell their father performed. Now, Orla and others try to resurrect Urien to take his rightful place as archdruid. Ann has her best friend Ed and Jax of the Blacks (trained guards who have magical abilities) to help thwart their plans. Only, so many things go wrong and others are sacrificed in the battle. It will be a long battle to wage, but the war is yet to come! The book ends in a cliffhanger…I received this book as an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.

Enter these pages at your own risk!
You’ll be up all night reading this first book in the series, so make sure you have enough weekend time with plenty of your favorite munchies and drink at the ready! You will enter a stunning world full of magic and incredible power, with Rhiannon and her allies at the center of mortal danger. It’s good vs. evil on a global scale…yet all of the actors in this “play” are shades of grey. There’s a bit of saving, tragedy, nasty fighting, loyalty, betrayal, potential romance, and an exquisitely poisonous Queen hellbent on increasing her stranglehold of Almara…and not in that order. Frankly, I would love to be a Druid!

If you like magic, druids, good vs. evil this is the book for you. Tiffany Shand has written an exciting paranormal tale with characters you will love to hate and characters that you hope will win. “Bound by Blood” is well-written paranormal tale that has a smooth flow, drama, action, suspense, love, and betrayal. The characters seem to jump off the page and come alive. The storyline is intriguing and intense, with a plot that leaves you wondering who the bad guys are. This is definitely a 5+! Wow Tiffany Shand has a hell of a fantastic story here filled with everything you could want in a story . First that cover is freaking awesome it says pick me up and take me home and when you , you will not regret it because the story inside blows it away . The main characters become fast friends and you become vested in the decisions they make both good and bad . The world building is amazing and you feel as if you are there . So stop reading this and go buy this story and enjoy it and be prepared to buy the rest of the series .

Wait, she and her brothers can't die? Why?

I liked this one a lot. After her parents are killed, Rhiannon and her younger brother are on the run and helping the resistance fight against Orla. Rhiannon is trying to prove she didn't kill her parents and take her rightful place back.

In this adventure her best friend and protector is going thru a change and he thinks it had to be something Orla did to him, but others seem to think it is something that just happened to awaken in him.

I would like to read the next one when I get the time.

The suspense is intense, the action thrilling, the intrigue is byzantine. This novel keeps the reader of the edge of one's chair, waiting for the next revelation. The part that bothers me is that the characters feel a bit immature for their roles. Ann, for instance, seems amazingly heedless and headstrong and impulsive for someone who has acted as a guerrilla leader for 5 years. Why is it taking her so long to stop jumping into action without planning?

After their parents murder, Rhiannon and her brother Xander are wanted fugitives gathering allies and rescuing any of their people in need from the clutches of the throne's usurpers the demoness Orla and her son Urien. A good storyline that does end in a cliffhanger. I rather enjoyed Rhiannon or Ann's kickass attitude and strength of character, and am looking forward to the next installment. Nice!

First let me state that I received an Advance Reader Copy, (ARC), but this in no way influences my review. I always leave an honest review.

This is a really good story, it's full of magic. If you like star wars without spaceships, then you'll totally be in your realm. Unfortunately for me, it's not my type of story. It's well written and has a great storyline, but I'm not into epic stories. Again if you like epic, then 5 Thumbs up

This book took me awhile to get into, but when it got going, it was really action packed! Lots of powerful magic spells being tossed back and forth, brother and sister fighting against half-brother and his mother. Really no love lost between these two groups! Druid magicians, a couple of shifters, soul exchanges, and lots more! Rest of the series should be a lot of fun!

I received a free copy (ARC )and in return for a honest review. In no way has it affected my opinion.

Wow. I read this fast. I absolutely loved it. Good vs evil. So much action/magic.
Great story, and straight into it, no omg when does it start. All 3 books are the same.
I love how the siblings can't die.
I have no shame in admitting that I have frequently used a few quotes from this set. No shame at all.
I highly recommend this adventure.

Okay I guess..

Difficult to say, I did enjoy portions of this book but then again other portions was very cliche. Different lines, different moments, different scenes all seemed like they had been used before in other movies or TV shows for other books.
The characters were okay, it kept my interest to a point, but it was definitely a free book. But that's not to say that it wasn't worth my time reading it.

Bit of a slow start, however, it soon picks up the pace. This is a well-written, and powerfully entertaining story with believable characters. The world-building is well put-together and imaginative.

Very enjoyable.

The worst book I have ever read.
The way it is written is ridiculous. Like the author hadn’t had enough time to write it properly. It would be so much more enjoyable if it was written better. But it’s not.
I’m not going to read the next book in the series.

Please don’t criticise my review. You won’t change my mind by doing that.
