"Mr Cricket: Driven to Succeed" by David Sygall and Hussey Michael offers readers a fascinating insight into the life and career of one of cricket's most celebrated players, Michael Hussey. The autobiography takes us through Hussey's journey from his early days in Western Australia to becoming a stalwart in the Australian cricket team.

The book provides an engaging narrative that details the challenges, triumphs, and sacrifices that shaped Hussey's cricketing career. Fans of the sport will appreciate the behind-the-scenes anecdotes, providing a closer look at the highs and lows of professional cricket. The personal touch in the storytelling, co-authored with David Sygall, allows readers to connect with Hussey's passion for the game and his unwavering commitment to success.

One of the strengths of the book is its exploration of the mental and emotional aspects of being a professional athlete. Hussey's determination and resilience shine through as he navigates the competitive world of international cricket, offering valuable insights for aspiring players and cricket enthusiasts alike.

However, some readers might find the book lacking in more critical self-reflection or exploration of the broader context of cricket during Hussey's career. The narrative tends to focus primarily on personal achievements and experiences, occasionally leaving out a deeper analysis of the challenges faced by the Australian cricket team during that period.

Overall, "Mr Cricket: Driven to Succeed" is a compelling read for cricket fans, providing an intimate look at Michael Hussey's illustrious career. While the book may not break new ground in terms of cricket autobiographies, it delivers an enjoyable narrative that captures the essence of Hussey's dedication to the sport and his journey to becoming one of Australia's cricketing legends.

3.5 stars. This book I found to be inspiring and interesting. Written by one of my favourite cricketers, it not only gave me an insight to his mind and the way he played, but also to life itself.

I chose to read this book because Mike Hussey is one of my favourite cricketers. Just because he isn't as arrogant as the other australian cricketers.

This book fills out the autobiography section on my bingo board. I like this category because the book is written in first person.

My favourite quote from the book is , ' words only have a meaning if you give them one.' This means that if you get a put down from someone and you keep thinking about it and believing that it is true, you will give the word a meaning.

Something i learnt from this book is that you need to have routines to succeed in life. So if things aren't going your way, you can use your routines to get yourself back on track. I liked this because routines are a necessity in cricket.

My favourite character from this book was Mike Hussey's coach. after school Mike used to always practice with his coach which made him into a fantastic cricketer. his coach spent hundreds of hours coaching Mike, his coaching has payed off.

I decided to read this book because all of my friends had read it and being a cricket fan, I wanted to read this.

This books belong to the "A diary, biography or autobiography" as it is an autobiography. I found this category interesting because it gives his opinion on his life.

My favourite quote from this book is "You have to think about the now and not the future if you want to succeed in life" said from a senior cricketer in a letter given to Hussey.

Something new I learned from this book was how was how in a sense, to succeed in life, due to the constant proverbs, mantras and quotes given in this book.

I found Mike Hussey, the main character of this book interesting, after reading this book I don't him as a cheating Australian cricketer but instead I see him as a nice and fair player(somehow).

This book highlights Michael Hussey's long journey to the top of the world cricket ladder. It tells of many of his pre-game rituals and idiosynchrocies. This is a great read for serious cricket fans/players, however could easily be misperceived as tedious by non-cricket fans.
