The author Nakayama Noriyuki creates fantastic designs in the form of go problems and their solutions. An example of one of them is on the cover. There are many more inside. He created so many of these problems, puzzles and designs that with every reprinting of this book he would take out the old ones and put in new ones instead.

A real treasure of a book. And I actually knew Nakayama. A friendly little man. I am afraid Go was the only subject he could talk about, and he never made it to the rank of top players, but he did an awful lot to make Go popular in Germany (not that he really succeeded). His real claim to fame was his ability to compose ladder problems, as the cover shows. Would I change my life with his? Of course, I would!
