Roosevelt Ranch #4

Regret at Roosevelt Ranch

Rate this book
Henry Miller was nobody.

Not any longer.

He used to be an up and coming chef in New York City, training under one of the most famous celebrity chefs in the world. But that had been five years before.

When he’d been itching to leave the small-town life of Darlington, Utah behind and become rich and powerful and famous. He’d been on his way too—had the fancy apartment, the great job, the gorgeous fiancé.

Isabella had been generous, sweet, and beautiful inside and out... or so he’d thought. Because the moment he’d taken leave from his job to come home and care for his father, the moment he’d slipped free of the outer edges of celebrity by returning to Utah to help his mother run the diner, Bella had dumped him.

Without a word and definitely without any explanation, Bella had disappeared from his life faster than a Michelin star from a restaurant that had lost its shine.

And he was fine with that. He’d moved on, rebuilt a life in Darlington and found, if not fulfillment, then at least peace in cooking at his father’s old diner.

Until Isabella showed up in town with a new fiancé in tow.

Until Bella wanted him to cook the food for her wedding at Roosevelt Ranch.

Until... he found out why she had left.

Suddenly, the peaceful but boring life Henry had built for himself was chaotic and frightening and it potentially, maybe... possibly might be punctuated with a happy ending.

Regret at Roosevelt Ranch is the newest book to this series by Elise Faber, and a great new addition. It had so many great elements. Second Chance romance, small town love and loyalty, danger and suspense. It all melded together to make a great read.

Henry was amazing. From start to finish I loved him. He was heartbroken when Isabella left him five years ago, but I still never felt like he was a jerk to her when she returns.

Isabella is one of those characters that you could easily get the wrong idea about. Especially just judging from the blurb. But as soon as you learn her story and start seeing things from her POV, it is impossible to not like her.

As this story develops, I was so wrapped up and drawn in that I finished it in just a few hours. This is one I definitely recommend and that I believe can easily be enjoyed as a a standalone. I, however plan to go back and read the two books I missed since book one.

Regret at Roosevelt Ranch is the fourth book in the Roosevelt Ranch series, and we finally get Henry's story. Henry is Kelly's best friend and has been nursing a broken heart for the last five years. Isabella turns up and asks Henry to cater her wedding, a wedding that is never going to happen.

You find out all the twists and turns that have kept Henry and Bella apart for the past five years, and within pages, you are desperately wanting them to get back together. Of course, the path of true love doesn't run that smoothly in Darlington, Utah, so they have their own problems to contend with.

Both main characters and secondary characters help to make this a fantastic story. All our previous couples make an appearance, even if it's only a quick one. The pacing is smooth and will keep you turning the pages.

I thoroughly enjoyed Henry and Bella's story and have no hesitation in recommending this great addition to the series.

Regret at Roosevelt Ranch by Elise Faber is book 4 in the series. It is a 2nd chance at romance which the main characters are
Henry and Isabella.
This story goes into why Isabella left Henry so abruptly 5 years before. You feel so badly for her because you really see that she's not the shallow, cold person Henry believes she was/became. Henry never stopped loving Isabella and this story features the rollercoaster romance ride that their 2nd chance at love was. It's full of feels, steam, angst, twists, pain, anger, forgiveness, healing, chemistry, passion, romance and love. I enjoyed the main characters and secondary characters. I can't wait for book 5. It looks to be extremely exciting!!

This is the second book I've read of Roosevelt Ranch (sadly I still haven't had time to catch up with the first two books, they are still sitting in my TBR pile) and I'm still loving the small, quaint town and people that Faber writes about. This time we visit the local diner, where aside from the actual Ranch, a lot of the action in Darlington, Utah transpires at. I love that we finally get a glimpse into the man who has had a hand in helping so many others, Henry Miller.

Henry is at times, gruff, but also a loveable teddy bear. We have always gotten a sense that he has been wounded, but we never knew by whom. We finally meet the woman that put a thorn in Henry's paw, Isabella. She doesn't show up in town alone though. Her fiancé appears, even though Bella claims to no longer be engaged. Sergio is slime personified. This creates a whole new emotional level of chaos in Henry's life. Is he ready to jump back out of the pan into the fire again? With the town at his back, Henry is ready for anything, but the bigger question is, is Bella ready for Darlington?

If you haven't read any of the Roosevelt Ranch books yet, the great thing is you can pick them up at any point and jump right in. They are a quick, easy read that will always leave you with a good feeling after you finish them.

I love second chance romances and this book is just that. Henry and Isabella have spent the last 5 years of their lives apart. Henry hating Isabella and Isabella dreaming of the life that she could have had with Henry if she didn't make the choice that she did. Truths come out and love rebuilds itself. However there is one major obstacle that stands in there way and they don't realize it until it's almost to late. I felt so bad for Isabella at the beginning, not only because of her past/present but also because of the way the people in Darlington initially made her feel. Henry is one of Darlington's love residences and if you hurt one of their own they don't like you. But Henry's heart still belongs to Isabella and not only does the town eventually figure that out, but so does Henry. Seeing these two build their HEA was heartwarming. They truly love one another. Seeing them have to go through what they did (even if it was only the VERY last portion of the book) was hard. I'm very glad they got their HEA. Then we have that epilogue! This author definitely has a way of keeping us in suspense. I so want to know who our mystery woman is! Another great book from a great series. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*

Henry's life was great, with a job he loved & worked hard for, and a woman who he believed was the love of his life. It all exploded in his face when his father got sick, so he had to go home, which means he had to give up the job that he loved, and that woman, Isabella?! She took off on him, and he's not been the same. Now 5 years later, he's at home, running his late father's diner, when Isabella walks into his life again, only this time, she wants him to cater her wedding. This messes with Henry's head badly, but it would seem that there's more than meets the eye at the end of the day. Will Henry keep running on his emotions, letting pride win the day or finally find out why she left him?! This story was an emotional read that held my attention very well. I'm not going to lie, at first, I was so mad at Isabella for hurting Henry like she did, but I didn't put the book down, and I'm glad I didn't. There are some big twists that had me really dropping loud f-bombs, as my emotions were put through the ringer all over again. So yeah, this story was awesome in the telling, however, my one issue was the ending seemed a bit rushed. Anyway, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND everyone read this awesome second chance story!

Part #4 but can be read as a Standalone

My Regret at Roosevelt Ranch Review . . .

I have only read one other book within this series and both have been out of order, however, I don't feel this has effected my experience with this series.

This time around we have Henry Miller whom is best friends with Kelly from book 1 (Disaster at Roosevelt Ranch). Henry comes back to town to take care of his ailing father but once he passed he chose to stay. Especially since he lost his heart when he came home.

Isabella (Bella) had one regret and has come to make it right, but there are many details in her way to get her HEA.

I loved the meddling way of the town people and the easy acceptance of Bella. I did like the ease of Henry and Bella and the miscommunications weren't drawn out. But the pivotal point of the story I felt happened way to easy and was quite predictable.

This book was sweet and an easy read, now that I have read 2 out of the 4 I feel it is time to read the other two, in preparation for book 5, which is Rex's story.

Regret at Roosevelt Ranch is a fantastic second chance romance. I love the Roosevelt Ranch series and was so excited for Henry's story. And let me tell you it did not disappoint. I love how sweet and caring Henry is. He is always there for everyone in town. And throughout this series, you get the impression that something was missing. All is answered when Isabella shows up out of the blue. Her life is a complete mystery until she finally opens up to Henry. You feel for Isabella and what her father puts her through. She is so strong and wants her life for herself. You can see why the whole town would fall in love with her when she shows up. You feel Henry's walls fall the more he is around Isabella. Their love is so strong and it shows. You fell it. For Henry and Isabella second chances make a stronger bond. This book is one I couldn't put down. You need to fall in love with Henry and Isabella as they fall back in love with each other. Go one-click this one.

Five years ago Henry appeared to be on top of the world as he was a rising star in the culinary world and was engaged to Bella, the woman he loved. When he returned home to help his father he didn’t realize that not only would Bella end their relationship but he wouldn’t know why. Although he has not found another love like they shared he has a built a new life for himself however his world is about to get turned upside down when she comes to town.

Not only is she in town but she is engaged to another man and wants him to cater the wedding. Will Henry finally get the answers he needs and will this be their second chance or is their reunion destined to result in heartbreak for the second time?

Henry and Bella are great characters who have always belonged together and it is finally their time but they must endure a few twists before they get there.

Isabella walked out of Henrys life 5 years ago when he had to move back to his small home town after his father got ill.
5 years later she turns up in his diner.
Obviously Henry is still bitter after she broke his heart with no explanation.
Its not all black and white tho will Henry and Isabella be able to make things work second time around when the truth is finally revealed or will her controlling father and fiance squash any chance of Isabella finally controlling her own destiny and being happy.
I really enjoyed this book Henry and Isabella are both great characters, I love the small town homely feel you get from the book and Henrys interactions with his friends children (doing rockets) was adorable, really showed his soft side.

Another Good Book by Ms. Faber

Initially I hesitated to read this book because I did not want to read about Henry catering his true 💘'a wedding. That would have ticked me off. Something kept saying, "Read it. This is a good one. You're gonna love it!" So glad I listened to that voice. The chemistry between Bella and Henry leaped off the pages and encouraged you to keep turning the pages to read more. They knew each other so well and breathed one another so deeply that the reader delighted in their passion. A very enjoyable read. This is what a love story should be about. Two people who know one another well, have a dying passion for one another and are not while without the other. Fantastic!

I enjoyed this emotionally complex read. This is Henry and Isabella's second chance at love and it will just make your heart melt. I felt so much for both these characters and what they had to go through to get their HEA. Emotional turmoil, drama, secrets, wounded hearts, small town charm and a love that endures throughout adversity will pull you into this engaging book and have you fully invested in this couple's happiness. I really liked it and will make it a point to explore more books in this series. By my own accord I am posting a forthright review.

Wow! From the way the prior book ended, I had doubts on who Henry's love interest would be. Would it be his lost love Isabella? Or someone new? Even at the beginning of this book, I was unsure. Obviously that became cleared up very quickly. I really loved how they were able to reconnect, even through such crazy circumstances. This book was romantic and sexy and it kept me turning this pages to find out what was going to happen next. The end has me REALLY looking forward to the next book.

Sweet second chance

Henry fell in love with Bella 5 years ago but she ended things and walked away without much of a word as to what went wrong. Now she has the nerve to walk into his diner and ask him to cater her wedding? When Henry finds out the real reason Bella is there and also realizes he still is in love with her can they make it work?

Regret at Roosevelt Ranch is a tale of false starts, wrong turns and heartaches. Henry and Isabella are a storm that can not be tamed. What began with love, ended in sorrow. Will foolish pride keep their star-crossed love story from getting a second chance? Faber knows how to reach a heart. With beautiful words, willing hearts and determined souls anything is possible.

What an amazing second chance romance! Henry was so gruff yet lovable. It was hard to see him deal with Isabella being back in his life, but the pain & angst was worth it in the end! I haven't had a chance to read the others in the series but I can't wait to go back and do so!

This is book 4 in the Roosevelt Ranch series and is a second chance romance. Henry and Bella are good characters that met in New York. When Henry had to return to his hometown Bella went in a different direction. 5 years later she shows up in Darlington to find Henry but goes about it wrong. This story had more of a flow then the others in the series and stuck more to the two main characters, with weaving in a little about the other characters from the other books, so you get some questions answered.

A second chance romance that many will find sweet and wonderful. While this is the second book in the series, you do not necessarily have to is part of a series but you do not have to read them in order. The storyline was good but not for me as I found myself drifting from the story as it did not hold my complete attention and I didn’t connect fully with the characters. I would recommend others give it a read as it could be just the romance you are looking for.
