All three episodes of Season Two are now combined on all platforms in a full length novel named Gut Check.
Clyde Sargent is rude. Egotistical. And a bad tipper. Delivering a fourteen-inch Rollo’s Revenge pizza should be an in-and-out job. Until he drops a bombshell he might’ve committed murder. Then Darcy Walker can’t let it go.
Days from the police academy, Darcy’s conscience reminds her it’s not her job to solve the mystery. No matter how appealing the challenge may be.
Struggling with coloring between the lines, the more she tries to conform, the more crime the universe throws her way. A dead body appears. A hit is placed on her friends. And someone from the academy has a Star Wars moment and goes to the dark side.
A new day is on the horizon in season two of Side Hustle. Darcy’s dream is within reach. Will she pump the brakes on her personality and let others take her cases? Or will she get kicked out of the program before she even earns her badge?
A.J. Lape writes stories where danger lurks around every corner and laughter is never in short supply. From thrilling teen mysteries to heart-pounding crime thrillers, her wickedly clever pen crafts tales with unstoppable she-roes and anti-heroes flirting with the road to redemption.
She lives in Cincinnati with her husband, two daughters who pop in for cash, and a spoiled Boston Terrier. A graduate of Morehead State University with an MA in Communications, she’s a freelance writer and PI wannabe with an addiction to cold brew.
You can spot her online engaging with fans, double-tapping animal reels, or binge-watching food videos that she sometimes successfully recreates in the kitchen.

The verb is back!! My absolute favorite verb is Darcy! She’s back doing what she does best, hustling. Darcy is finally in the academy and as usual, there’s a mystery to be solved. Season two, episode 1 is full of quick witted humor and chock full of mystery. Can’t wait for the next episode!
I'm not really huge on YA reads, but put a new Darcy Walker in front of me and I will devour it.
I have been with Darcy since the beginning and I can't wait for my 10 year old daughter to have a couple more birthdays so I can share Darcy with her.
In true Darcy fashion, we get a dead body in the beginning. Nothing comes of it yet, but something is coming. With Darcy, you just never know what to expect.
Our little Darcy is now in the police academy.
We do meet a few new characters. And of course we get some Dylan.
I feel weird, like a cougar, because he is so young. But dayum.
I can't wait to see how this all ends. There's no telling with Darcy and her wide variety of "friends".
While I was reading season two I was so excited to read the book and wanted to read as fast as I could but at the same time didn't want it to end! Darcy's adventures are always entertaining and I never know how she is going to get herself out of the trouble she inevitably finds. A.J. always keeps us guessing and throws unexpected twists along the way. This series is funny, heartwarming and leaves you wanting more.
This is a great series. I really enjoyed reading this book. It was really interesting and made me laugh. Darcy is a really great character. I can't wait to read the next one.
My favorite girl, Darcy, is back for another adventure. And oh boy is it ever! This episode had my heart beating out of my chest and screaming at my phone. The twists and turns are really setting this season up to be a real nail biter. Being a fan from Darcy’s very first book, it's incredible to see how much she has grown and is now in the police academy. Our little girl is all grown up! I can’t wait to read more episodes and see where life takes Darcy. And knowing her, it will be far!
As with everything in the world according to Darcy, this first episode was way better than I expected. I just don't know how Lape keeps coming up with this stuff, but it floors me every time. But ...oh...the cliffhanger! So many things going on at the same time, so many characters and so very many different story lines, this episode is as well plotted and executed as everything else in this series. I have read all things Darcy, but feasibly you could start anywhere and get the same mood. There is a lot of back story filled in with each new situation. I just loved all of this!
After years of waiting Darcy has finally started the police academy. Episode 1 introduces us to some new characters from the LA police academy as well as some of our favorite old ones. Everything finally seems to be falling into place in Darcyville. She has her career starting, a good crew of loyal friends, & the love of her soulmate Dylan. Will she be able to stay on the straight path so she can finally get that badge?
This episode was a page turner from beginning to end. I definitely did not see the twist at the end. I can't wait for the next episode.
The start of another great season, or chapter in Darcy's life. I am so glad for the continuation of seeing Darcy Walker attack adulthood. Now we see her entering the police academy... and you guessed it, more dead people and obstacles for her.
I love how Lape's imagination keeps this series kicking and kicking hard, literally. The start of this new season starts with a bang. I am hooked. I am gearing up for some great sleuthing and Darcy being Darcy yet again.
This episode is the best picture of Darcy's insecurities to date. She became more real in this episode. More honest than she has ever been. My heart rate kicked in gear anticipating where her journey is yet to be.
If you haven't picked up this series yet, head over to the Zon, pick up book one and get started. Start binge reading until you have caught up. There may be a handful of books, but I promise it won't take you long. You will eat up this series like it's your last meal.
I was lucky enough to get to read this early. I am a huge Darcy Walker fan and have loved her since book 1 (Grade A Stupid). She is a force to be reckoned with and she has no problems fighting for what she wants. She's been doing it all along and succeeding. The problem is, trouble seems to follow her no matter what coast she seems to be on. Darcy has made some good friends along the way, but she's also made some friends that aren't so good. This is both a blessing and a curse for her. On one hand, she's got people to turn to if she needs help. However, she ends up needing help quite a bit out of these sticky situations she gets herself into.
This book series is full of intrigue, suspense, laughter, and drama. I always know when I pick up a Darcy Walker book that I am in for a treat and that I will devour it, almost always in one sitting. I highly recommend this series.
