JakeI first saw Charlotte Foster on the sidewalk in Seattle when the contents of her purse were scattered on the cement. I offered my help, and when our eyes met, a bolt of lightning tore through me. Ensuring her safety, I helped her into a cab and made sure she got home. After putting her to bed, I left a note, walked out the door, and headed back home to Los Angeles.Imagine my surprise when, a month later, she appeared for an interview at my architecture firm. Her world had crumbled, and she sought a fresh start. I wanted to be that fresh start. Convincing her that we were destined for each other became the toughest challenge of my life.CharlotteA simple phone call shattered my perfect life, and in a split second, my world crashed down. After a night of heavy drinking and bar hopping, I woke up to a note from a man named Jake explaining how he made sure I got home safely. Little did I know that the man who helped me on the sidewalk and home from the bar would be my new boss when I moved back to Los Angeles. He was incredibly handsome and the nicest man I’d ever met.Falling for him was easy, but my fears and mistrust kept me in check. He saved me on more than one occasion, and being the hot mess I was, I needed to save him from me.18+

Here’s another book where the hero can’t keep his dick in his pants after telling the heroine that he loved her that he wouldn’t be like her cheating asshole of a husband. He runs away hurt that she pushed him away and then has a ONS while on his trip. Meanwhile the stupid heroine is on her own world feeling horrible that she pushed him away while trying to “find herself” after her divorce. And when she finds out that he slept with the OW she’s like ok it’s fine we weren’t together at that point.

It was definitely a trip that should be shared with someone, but the alone time was what I needed. I met a woman named Nadia. She was attractive and we’d had a one-night stand. She was looking for some fun and I just wanted to forget about Charlotte.

“Thank you for being honest with me. We weren’t together and I had told you that I didn’t love you. I couldn’t expect you not to sleep with someone else.” “You’re not mad?” “How could I be? We were barely friends at that point. Did it work?” The corners of her mouth slightly curved upwards. “No.” I brought my hand up to her cheek and softly stroked it. “There isn’t a single woman in this world that could ever make me forget about you. You’re my soulmate, Charlotte Foster.”

Good books are hard to find. And why do I continue reading this author or any author who keeps writing this shit? Simple. KU allows me to read these train wrecks without having to spend my money.

No wonder why this author’s numbers of readers and ratings are getting lower and lower. Her obsession with cheating or sex with op is horrible
I used to read her books blindly a few years ago, but it seems my tastes evolved away from her.

No thanks, a guy that weak is not a hero to me. If he truly loved her no other woman would have allowed him to get it up...its a romance book for goodness sake. It didnt add nothing to the story because as per usual the heroine just accepted he had done it, so what a useless plot point that will only deter readers from reading it or turn them off, I mean.....I dont get it

According to my Amazon account I own 17 books written by Sandi Lynn. Although I admit it's been a couple of years since I last read a book written by this author. The blurb for this book sounded interesting. So I decided to reconnect via Kindle Unlimited. Yikes! My taste has evolved- away from this author. The book felt like one long run on sentence. The pace was frantic because the book is too short. They meet. They begin to work together. They fall in love. Even worse it reads dumbed down. I hate romance authors who think their target audience is a first grader. "See Dick run. See Sally run. Run Sally run. Sally and Dick live happily ever after." This is a frantic paced first grade reader. It wins my clunker "makes my eyes bleed" category.

Typical novel ingredients= instant love + the hero rescued the heroine from a potential bad experience + +. Anyway, she was 7 months married to her 10 years boyfriend when her sister discovered him with another woman during a business trip and sent the picture as evidence to her sister; so, the heroine applied for divorced and moved to her home city where she starts working at the hero’s company. He was smitten with her without knowing her and was empathic with her situation because his girlfriend just cheated on him too.

In her vulnerable moment she slept with him, and of course the next day felt terrible, she was still married, the divorced process has not end by that time; few weeks later the hero proclaimed his love to her and she rejected him, so he took 3 weeks ofvacation to clear his head, in during that time he had a one night stand, and of course it meant nothing him just want it to get over her.

So, lets see, he just confessed his love to her and a week later slept with another woman. He said he felt guilted about it, and at one moment confessed that to the h, and guess what?!, she was fine with that. I know he wasn’t her husband but he was a man that proclaimed she was the love of his live (as did the husband) why being so forgetful with him, who said he wont go to get over her with another woman next time they fight, seriously a week after!! And he just chooses to tell her after they had reconciliation sex; she deserved to know before, because he knew it was wrong what else he was feeling guilty. Obviously, the heroine didn’t learn anything about his cheating husband, or it was her destiny to end up with this kind of jerks.

This author just does not work for me. The cheating was not handled well, and the husband was like a caricature. Just like with Promise Me by Barbie Bohrmam, and All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover, where the hero witnesses the destruction cheating caused the heroine previously, then he himself cheats, there is absolutely no forgiving him in my opinion. Even though he did not technically cheat, it was obvious the heroine was confused and needed time, Jake apparently loved the heroine, but couldn’t keep it in his pants? This review sums it up perfectly:

Both H and h cheated on at the origin, but don't expect angst, but rather....cheese... soul mate style. Perhaps I could have dealt if the h was not so irritating, and the H so perfect.I rated it a decent 3 stars as it was overall, mildly entertaining.
I'm more honest when cranky...😂

Yet again, Sandi Lynn can do no wrong with a quality romance read! After ten years together, Charlotte ends up finding out what no newlywed wants to hear about their husband, and immediately goes back home and starts rebuilding her life. As fate typically has it, she gets the opportunity to interview for a new job unknowingly with the person who saved her after the initial shock, Jake. When they realize they know each other and Jake knows her circumstance, he works at getting to know her and take it slow. With the instant attraction, the two find it hard to fight the feelings but Charlotte is very confused and has a lot of emotions running, and ends up hurting Jake in the process of dealing with those. I really enjoyed the addition of Gemma and how she was able to help Charlotte with the right direction, especially because sometimes you need outside input. I can’t get enough of Sandi Lynn’s books and continue to devour them as they come out and this one was no exception.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

DNF at 40%

The writing isn’t good. It’s a 140 page book and at page 54 barely anything has happened yet. We do get detailed dialogue of their restaurant orders though.

“What can I get you two handsome men?” The blonde-haired waitress smiled. “I’ll have the Cali burger, medium rare, and a Stella,” I spoke. “Any fries with that?” she asked. “Sure.” I smiled. “I’ll have the same,” Chandler spoke.

It’s a novella, please don’t waste time on stupid details like this that do absolutely nothing for the story.

I was going to force myself to continue even though the writing is annoying me but then the h says this to her sister about the H:

“He was just in a relationship for about a year,” Jillian said as she stabbed her fork into her salad. “Was?” I asked. “Yeah. He caught her cheating on him.” “Oh. I know the feeling.” “Don’t tell him I told you. So see, he can relate to your bad day.” “I wonder what he did to make her cheat?”

Really?? This woman is going through a divorce because her husband was cheating and she asks this about someone else who was cheated on? I’m done at this point, too stupid for me to waste any more time on.

Perfectly You is another winner with a solid, consistent and straight forward plot. This is one of the things that I enjoy the most when reading Ms. Lynn’s books. I fell hard and fast for Jake and Charlotte’s story and once I started reading it, I couldn’t put it down.

Fate brought Jake and Charlotte together after they had been unlucky with their significant others. Both are wonderfully written characters who you wholeheartedly can’t help but love. I knew in my heart these two were meant to be together as they had intense chemistry and I was fully invested in hoping they would get their happily ever after. If you are looking for a delightful, heartwarming second chance at love romance, then this is definitely the book for you!

As always Sandi Lynn delivers a well written love story. I liked the characters but why did Jake have to go to Italy? That bit was unnecessary....

Expected so much more

I have read other books by Sandi Lynn and enjoyed them. I’m afraid not this one, it was a bit ploddy, boring even.

Liked Jake, almost wish he’d bump into me. But declaring his love, then going to Italy and having a one night stand. Now part of me thinks, he wasn’t thinking his love would change her mind and love him back and he was single. Just not sure why he couldn’t just have enjoyed his trip.

Charlotte however I just didn’t like, I know she’d been cheated on and yes it was awful, but she had a supportive family, place to live, good job and a handsome supportive man ready to help her get over it.

Just not for me, but read yourself and make your own mind up.

The book started off interestingly enough but by about the 70% mark, it fell apart and I cannot recommend it.

FMC Charlotte’s husband Alex left her home and cheated on her while he was away on business. She found out and moved back from Seattle to her hometown in California.

In a series of random events in Seattle and CA, the MMC Jake had come to her rescue, and suddenly he was her new boss.

Jake and Charlotte had a business and personal relationship in CA that moved too fast. They slept together very quickly and Jake said things like “I’ll always be here for you” and “we were meant to be together” and “I love you” and “I’m not Alex and I’d never hurt you.”

When one day she expressed concern about what a hot mess her life was and that she didn’t love him (mind you, she was still married), he immediately cut off their relationship. He decided to leave the country and during his three-week vacation in Italy, he “Met Nadia. She was attractive and we had a ONS.”

So, within three weeks of declaring his endless love for Charlotte, he ran away and found another woman attractive and slept with her. Seems like shades of Alex to me…

And when Jake gets home, he continues to ignore Charlotte until she has an epiphany that they really belong together and she races to his house to throw herself at him. After they have makeup s*x, he confesses he had a ONS. She says okay because we weren’t technically together.

True, he wasn’t technically cheating, but Charlotte — who’d already been treated badly by one guy who couldn’t keep it in his pants — didn’t see this as a potential red flag? The second things weren’t going his way, Jake runs off and hooks up with someone else?

All of Jake’s actions from when Charlotte said she needed to time to piece together her new life (a reasonable decision) were centered on himself. He cut her out cold. So much for always being there for her and not hurting her.

From the point of his selfish and immature attitude and ONS, their supposed love for each other did not ring true. It’s hard to buy in to his so-called love when it didn’t even last three weeks the first time around.

Had Charlotte not gone begging after him, she’d still be alone because he was treating her poorly and already moving on with his life. He was cold and dismissive as her boss. and he made zero attempt to be her friend, support her as she resolved her past life, nothing.

Jake started out as the good guy… the author’s decision to have him treat Charlotte badly and then sleep with someone else just ruined him.

I read the whole book and I didn’t hate it but I also am in no rush to read more of the authors work.

I felt like the book was just rushed? There could have been so much more done with this I feel. Charlotte had just come out of a 7 month marriage with someone she’d been with for 10 years since she was 16. To me that immediately screams she’s never been on dates she’s never got to experience growing up. I personally would’ve preferred it if Jake put in some work to prove he wasn’t Alex. Start from the beginning, ask her out on a date, buy her flowers. Let her restart things slowly she’s going through a horrific time and a massive battle of emotions. Re-showing her love and how she should be loved and how she deserved to be loved I feel should’ve been the highlight. But instead Jake rescued her, met her a few times and immediately loved her? She said she didn’t love him then out of nowhere after being ignored by Jake she decided she loved him? If Jake truly loved her and wanted her he would’ve pined after her. Giving her time but being romantic in the process.

I wouldn’t read it again that’s for sure I usually love an easy read like this. Although one positive is that I liked the characters but following in from above they weren’t given the story line to grow and be as good as they could’ve been. Chandler was bearly present and no big introduction to Charlotte even though he was Jakes best friend ?

Rant over I just wish this book was so much more.

Absolutely outstanding

I loved this book from start to finish. I loved the chemistry between Charlotte and Jake. Charlotte is an amazing architect who finds out her husband of seven months is cheating on her but she gave 10 years of her life to him. When Charlotte discovered his affair she was a total wreck. When she left work she bumped into a handsome man on the street and later that night he seen her drunk out of her mind and he protects her from someone hitting on her. He puts Charlotte into a can and brought her home to her house. I love how Charlotte got her revenge on Alex by burning his clothes in the pit along with the wedding album and moved home to LA.

Jake Collins is CFO of his father's design company and he just broke up from his girlfriend Christina after one year because she cheated on him. His father wants him to settle down but his best friend can't stand her.

I loved how Alex met his revenge when he got absolutely nothing from the divorce. I love the word karma and I was glad Charlotte had the last laugh. Charlotte was going to tell Jake about the case the next day only to discover he had gone to Italy to clear his head. When he returned from Italy he was giving Charlotte the cold shoulder and only speaking to her when he needed to.

Sandi has done an amazing job yet again I loved every word of it.

Fortunately, this was a very quick read but wow. So she is overtly sweet and naive but after 10 years with Alex, you would think we would have some additionally character development. Why did he cheat; for how long… something. Not just, I got caught and so I packed up and moved back to LA. No discussion. Nothing. I have no issue with her dumping his ass but you should think that we would get a few more details after being together for 10 years (even if their marriage was a blip in the timeline)

And then sleeping with her boss, Jake, almost immediately. Maybe in this world that works out (because they are soulmates and all) but really? No one else thought that was a bad idea? Him having a ONS was not an issue for me at all, but her jumping into bed with Jake after barely knowing him just made no sense. At least pretend the time line was a bit longer. And they are so busy at work (that she has to start immediately, but Jake can just drop everything and head to Italy for 3 weeks. I don’t care if you are the boss, that makes no sense! Ugh.

I have it 2 stars as I was able to finish it in less than 2 hours so didn’t waste too much of my time.

Sweet novel

This was a quick, but good read.

Charlotte Foster has had her whole life planned from the time she was a kid. But when her sister catches her husband cheating on her with a different woman, she files for a divorce after 8 months of marriage and 10 years of dating. When she stumbles out of work in shock after seeing pictures, she accidentally drops her purse and a kind man stops and helps her. That night Charlotte gets drunk at a bar and the same guy rescues her from another drunk man.

Jake Collins just caught his girlfriend kissing another man. He immediately dumps her. When he sees a beautiful woman distraught, he wonders what happened. Then that night he runs into her again and takes her home taking care of her while she gets sick.

After flying back to L.A. he can't stop thinking about her. But when Charlotte applies for a job at his family's architecture firm, he starts to believe in fate.

Sweet story.

Perfectly You

Charlotte was crying on the street, leaving her work place after finding out that her husband was cheating on her! They had been together for ten years before they were married. Finding out what he was doing on his business trips, broke her heart in a million pieces. That night she ends up in a bar, getting drunk and being alone. A guy tries to take advantage of her, Jake steps in and gets her away from the nasty guy that was hitting on her. She ends up moving back home to L.A. and stays with her parents. The rest is history. Jake and Charlotte end up working together ! This story wss absolutely amazing to read, it sucked me right in and the story took off and I enjoyed reading this author's story. The chemistry between those two were off the charts! Enjoy!!!

Lose yourself in a great love story. Will make a great summer read.

Once I started reading about Jake and Charlotte I couldn't put it down. It's the story of two really nice people who get cheated on by a husband and a girlfriend they trusted. Charlotte's heart is broken when she finds out her husband of just 7 months has been cheating on her. She had been with him for 10 years and never expected him to hurt her. It was fate that Jake was there to pick up the pieces. His girlfriend cheated on him and he knew how Charlotte was feeling. This is a love story about how two people find each other and even though they try to fight it fall in love. Sandi Lynn always gives you a love story you can lose yourself in and this book doesn't disappoint.

Charlotte and Jake’s journey is a wonderful fate inspired romance. As Charlotte’s world is falling apart, Jake, ends up being in the right place at the right time more than once to assist her. Even her sister Jillian has a way of putting her directly in Jake’s path. But as she has feelings for a new man while her marriage is being dissolved, will she allow herself to open up to heartache again? Jake never expects to see the woman he rescued in a bar in Seattle again but when she shows up for a job interview, he is shocked and overjoyed all at the same time. Can he find a way to show Charlotte what true love really is? Overall, I enjoyed their journey even though Charlotte did annoy me a bit with her antics. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Perfectly You is one of the sweetest novel I have read of Sandi Lynn. This book has her personal brand with all characters. Jake is trustworthy, true and of course, beautiful and passionate. Jake runs away from the characters who need some redemption and so it's so adorable. Charlotte is a dreamer who, faced with the abyss of her relationship, must return to believing that it is possible. All the way they meet are graceful.
Sandi lynn is one of my favorites american authors, because Forever Black was my first novel that I read in English and I really loved the journey, since then I read all her novels. And her writing is fluid, sometimes I don’t know if I'm sad or happy to finish her novels, because her books are so good that they last very little.

Perfectly Cute

Sandi Lynn has done it again. Perfectly You was just the right type of love story that makes you curl up and read until your finished.
This is a story of true love and that when you think life has knocked you down... Nope maybe there is a reason for everything.
Meet Charlotte who thought her perfect life was in the right path until her loving husband shows his true colors...

Meet Jake who finds out his girlfriend is the perfect one and when he is on his business trip he finds himself in the right place at the right time. Can't fate really happen... Pick.Johnnie book by Sandi and see for yourself.
