I looked into this book just help me understand what an empath is and why certain things affect them. It gave very good and interesting concepts to use in order to understand why you do things and feel the way you do around others. I’m really interested in how to manifest my spirit animal and cleanse my chakras.
I really enjoyed this book. It solidified a lot of things that I was doubting my entire. This was amazing and may possibly change my life or the better. It's time to make changes for ME and break generational curses to protect my energy and peace of mind.
A lot of good basic information on what it means to be an Empath. The book touches on a lot of different aspects of an empathic life. Some topics will need to be further researched such as chakras or healing stones, but overall a great overview.
I am not going to lie I almost stopped reading this book because half way through I lost interest, that was in 2021. I decided to give it another try this year in 2025 because I am trying to finish all of my “DNF” books (four years later, I know😅). Word of caution I would go into this book with a grain of salt if you are Catholic/Christian or just avoid it entirely if esoteric/divination topics affect you. I myself like learning about other religions, and don’t mind being confronted with other perspectives, and beliefs. But I didn’t think this book would fall so heavily under occult influence. I’m not sure what divination, tarot cards, and talking to spirit guides has anything to do with being an empath. I understand that The idea of people being Empaths and HSP’s is still a “woo-woo” out there concept, but I thought the direction this book could have taken would be completely different. Nonetheless I give it three stars simply because I found some good insight and perspective on being an empath and how we can identify certain negative traits in others and our surroundings that affect us. I liked how in the last few chapters the author discussed the importance of setting boundaries which I totally agree with. I must disclose also that my rating was not affected nor based on my religious views, I found this book to be poorly written, (or atleast edited) in the regard that there were SO MANY typo’s, and I found some chapters to be painful to get through and the writing style did not captivate my interest. I still found some very good points and that is why I give it some stars. 2 or 1 just seemed much too low and I applaud the author for their work and effort.
I hardly ever DNF a book, but this one was TORTUROUS. I read about half the book, found multiple spelling errors and typos, and felt like I was reading a hippy middle schooler’s poorly-written essay. It was cliché, not even remotely based in science, and indirect in its approach. To sum the message of the book up in one sentence: “here is a list of things empaths have/do/need/should do, but also if these things don’t apply to you, you might be an empath still but you also might not”. 👎👎👎
I didn’t have the heart to give this book 1 star. It was pretty awful. I felt like I was reading some kids term paper. Also, I listened to it and am pretty sure that the audio book was narrated by a computer. I’m disappointed that I didn’t enjoy this.
I’d imagine this book is helpful for some. For me however, it was a dud. I finished it mostly because I aim to complete the things I begin. Personally, I was looking for a “how to be more empathetic” book. This book however, is a “survival guide for empath’s” kinda book.
