Not all superpowers are a good thing. Especially NOT if your mum has them. Or if they’re fuelled by embarrassment. And what if you can’t find your way back home? Jump out of your skin with these hilarious short stories, but don’t leave your body unattended for long!
Tom E. Moffatt writes humorous stories and jokes for kids, but if you spotted him walking around town you wouldn’t know it. To the untrained eye, he looks like a normal 40-something father of three young girls. You know … with a glittery school bag slung over his shoulder and nail polish on his fingers.
This book of short stories, with great illustrations by Paul Beavis, is absolutely brilliant. I love how creative the author is in his different variations on body swapping, and the short length of each story make them perfect for bedtime, school reading, and for grownups to read while eating and commuting. And yes, while this may be a kids book, I can definitely recommend it as a fun read for grownups too! I'm looking forward to more stories like this from the author in future. NB I received a complimentary copy of this book, but I always give an HONEST review based wholly on my own opinions
This is a book of short stories about body hopping. Sometimes you are a child hopping from body to body, sometimes you accidentally hop into a dog! Some of the stories are cute, some are heroic, some are just crazy!
This book had me in stitches. I enjoy the idea of body swapping, like in freaky friday, but Tom takes it so much farther than that. I would say he is the Douglas Adams of body swap stories.
I received this book as part of an ARC review. From the title I expected humor in the book but I couldn't find any. I can see that the author made an effort and that the writing itself was good. However overall I found the book disappointing.
