Taylor Rollins barges into her employer’s office and tosses a pink slip on his desk and asks him to explain why she’s been terminated. Nick Lanagan, CEO of Lanagan Associates, is surprised that Taylor was hired and fired in three weeks’ time but, he offers her a job—as his fake fiancé! Tempted by Taylor is a sweet romance filled with fabulous characters, a bit of business intrigue and is set in Colorado. Taylor accepts Nick’s job offer in order to pay down her late father’s gambling debts. Nick assumes that Taylor has racked up her credit cards and needs the money to pay them down. Cindy Kirk does a fabulous job weaving in social and spiritual elements in this story. Loved the company picnic scenes and the pre-marital counseling sessions-they enabled Nick and Taylor to get to know each other. I loved that the couple’s romance developed slowly and that both characters learned to trust each other. Taylor’s grandparents provided her with an example of a loving relationship; the author does a fabulous job bringing Nick into the Rollins family social circle. Nick accepts Taylor no sex before marriage rule but doesn’t like it. I loved reading this couples journey. It was very relatable. Although there was sexual chemistry between the couple; there were several misunderstandings and arguments between them. It took time for Nick to acknowledge that Taylor’s faith and family came first; not business. Cindy Kirk creates memorable characters. Loved Taylor’s grandparents, Kaye and Bill Rollins, Claire, Nick’s ex-girlfriend and Nick’s friend and attorney Erik. Each character contributed to the storyline. I can’t wait to see who captures Claire’s heart-she was a fascinating character. The ending of the novel has several surprises. Loved the last chapter—the perfect ending for this couple. If you are looking for a sweet romance filled with great characters, Tempted by Taylor is the perfect read for you! I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.
Taylor and Nick may have a fake engagement, but the attraction is real. Nick is trying to follow in his father's footsteps by focusing on saving and expanding his company, and Taylor needs money. Their interactions are sweet - Taylor is direct enough to tell Nick her opinions, and Nick learns so much by watching the interactions of Taylor and her grandparents. I liked how their relationship developed. There are some religious undertones, but nothing pushy, and I think Taylor's character and conviction is what made the story.
Sometimes, what we want is staring us right at the face, but we dont know.
Nick is obsessed with work -making the company he inherited from his father successful; the responsibility he feels towards his employees and finalizing a merger agreement that will put his firm in a position of continued success. He does not have time for love, but realizes he needs a fiancee to ward off the advances of his ex... little does he know his life is about to drastically change. For the better.
Taylor is hiding a secret - for all intents and purposes, she is a rich and accomplished young lady. However, losing her job means she will not be able to stand behind a responsibility she took on when her father died. She is also very protective of her elderly grandparents, and very firm in her faith.
Two people who are almost exact opposites meet, sparks fly, plans change, love blooms. But the path to true love is never easy, and that is what makes this story so interesting. How Nick and Taylor find themselves is such a joy to read. I especially loved Nick finding his faith.
Forgiveness also plays a key role in this book - of others, of oneself, of circumstances. In this time we live in, no one can discount the power of forgiveness, and I really liked how this was woven into this story.
As always, great writing from Cindy - that has always been a given. I think what makes this book such a joy for me to read was that there are so many ways I can use the insights I have gleaned from this book in my day to day life.
Thank you again, Cindy, for such a beautiful and insightful read!
**I received an ARC of this book, but this review and all opinions herein are my own and written willingly.
This book by Cindy Kirk is a sweet love story. CEO Nick Lanagan is modeling his life after his father who put his company ahead of everything else in his life. Taylor Rollins is a woman who wants a man that puts God and family before his career, a man who loves her with his whole heart.
Nick had a dilemma when his potential business partner, Henry Waters, informed him that his daughter Claire was coming home. She had previously broken up with Nick and left town. He had no desire to pick up where they had left off. Taylor also had a dilemma when she was given a pink slip from Lanagan Associates. This was a job that she desperately needed. Her decision to talk to the CEO resulted in Nick choosing her for his fake fiancee until the merger was completed. The chemistry and attraction between them was there and although they tried to ignore the sparks that flew between them, their romance blossomed. There were hurdles that they faced along the way. Claire Waters is determined to break up their engagement. Doubts about each other were always a wedge between them.
I found the story, the characters and the end result to be very much to my liking. The following heart melting statement made by Nick to Taylor in a toast is one of the many reasons that I loved this book. "To the woman who made me realize that I could have all the riches in the world but be poor without her by my side." This is such a thought provoking statement and how true it is. There are many things that money can't buy. This story is a reminder of what truly matters in life. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of the book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.
Cindy has done it again. This was a well written book that incorporated forgiveness, acceptance, faith, trust and dedication to a belief of making something strong and deserved. This story is about Taylor and Nick. Nick is of course the billionaire while Taylor is the employee that just received a pink slip! A woman with enough sass to get her way. She barges into Nicks office to demand an explanation as she was recently hired leaving behind a perfectly good job in Denver. During this time Nick is trying to seal a deal with a business associate whom is trying to get him together with his daughter Claire. Claire and Nick were never really an item, but they made a lot of people believe that they were and now she is coming back, and her father is all but happy to see them together. Nick and Erik big solution is that he needs a Fiancée and quick – well guess who barges into the office when that solution comes about? As sweet as this book is Nick and Taylor are caught up in some situations that allow them to open up to each other which provides a great ending.
All the characters have a special meaning to this story, but I have to give it to Erik and her grandparent, they are awesome. I hope the story continues with both Erik and maybe Claire as everyone regardless of what they do deserve a happy ending. I won’t give the story away, but this is a book that you will want to read more than once. I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the publisher and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This book uses the fake fiancé trope, a trope of which I am not a fan. Given that dislike, Ms. Kirk does a very good job of “selling” the story.
Taylor Rollins is laid off from her job at a company run by Nicholas (Nick) Lanagan III. Nick inherited the financially troubled family company, following the death of his father. Nick blames extravagant spending by his mother for the company’s financial troubles. Nick sees the acquisition of Henry Water’s company as a way to “solidify” his own company in a competitive market. The problem? Henry is wavering, and hopes Nick will reconcile with Henry’s daughter Claire, who has returned home. Nick has no interest in Claire, a beautiful but conniving woman. Nick’s solution is to hire Taylor as a fake fiancé until Nick and Henry finalize the sale of Henry’s company to Nick. Along the way complications arise, along with a growing mutual attraction between Taylor and Nick. However, Taylor wants to put faith and family first, while Nick wants to put business first. Both outlooks are shaped by their own experiences. Can both come to a mutual understanding?
There were some plot points and scenes I had trouble with, but overall, the quality of the storytelling overcame my concerns.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it. This book was very sweet. It started with a very weird happenstance that turned into Happily Ever After. (Kaye) Taylor recently got a job to move closer to her grandparents, her only living family. Nick is the owner of a company that is currently in negotiations to buy the company of his ex-girlfriend’s father. The ex-girlfriend, Claire, runs back into town right before the negotiations are finalized hoping to rekindle their once shared romance. Nick, not wanting to step back into that situation, makes up a fiancé. Taylor was able to step into the roll after storming into Nick’s office to get an explanation for the pink slip that landed on her desk after working there for less than a month. The need for money leads her to accept Nick’s offer to play his fiancé until the negotiations are finalized.
This play romance turns real fast. Taylor’s grandparents want to get to know this mystery man and starts inviting Nick to church and golf outings. They are “playing” the roles so well that the owner of the company being bought, Henry, offers to throw the happy couple an engagement party. They are so convincing that Claire comes up with a plan to break them up. Going to church turns into couples counseling. Everything is right on track except the one thing they didn’t see coming.
This book has a spiritual element that is not always present in Cindy’s books. She incorporates it well and keeps the reader interested without the steamy love scenes. Don’t get me wrong, there are some steamy moments but they tend to end abruptly due to Taylor’s beliefs and the fact they they are not really together. I recommend this book 100%. This author knows how to weave a story that allows readers to get caught up and love the characters.
Taylor was just fired from Nick's company. She goes to his office to find out why, and to possibly get her job back. Nick needs a fake fiancee because of a possible merger in the works. The daughter of the owner of the merger company is an ex, and the father would love to see them together. Nick can't think of anything worse. He hires Taylor to play his fiancee until the meger goes through. They spend time together, spend time with her Grandparents (her parents died in a car accident). Her old friend Tony shows up, hired by Claire the ex to breal them up because she wants Nick. Luckily Tony leaves before he does something that will hurt Taylor and Nick. Great story, short, but a great read. This is a clean romance, all they do is kiss, Taylor heavily relies on her faith and sunday morning church. She is saving herself for her husband on their wedding night, which cause some frustration out of Nick. I would love to read a story about Erik, Nick's attorney. We didn't see him very much in the book, but I would love to visit these characters again. I received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
Taylor Rollins has just received her pink slip and is furious! She marches into Nick Lanagan's office and demands to know why her job has been terminated. Nick, the CEO, has just been talking to his friend Erik and has come up with a plan to get Henry to sign with his company - he needs a fake fiancee! As soon as Taylor storms into his office, Nick knows immediately she is the girl for the job. She is ravishingly beautiful, spunky and most importantly in need of money. When Nick first pitches his idea for Taylor to be his fake fiancee, Taylor rejects the idea, but once she has thought about it, she agrees. Her father passed away recently and has left ginormous gambling debts that she is trying to pay off. What better way to make this happen than to accept Nick's proposal?
As the two of them begin to go out, they wonder if they can pull off this fake engagement so Nick can land his big client. As they spend more and more time together, sparks begin to fly, but a secret may just tear their love apart. Will love survive? Or will unforgiveness reign supreme?

When Taylor Rollins get an unexpected pink slip she decides a few choice words with her uncaring boss could make a difference and she barges into his office with the determination to change his mind. CEO Nick Lanagan, is trying to close a deal to push his company forward but has issues with the targeted businessman’s daughter. Without a backwards glance, Clair had walked away from him months ago for a new job out of state. Nick doesn’t want her back in his life but Henry Waters is trying to tie his daughter, Nick and the deal together. Nick makes a deal of his own with the now out-of-work Taylor. She needs an income and he needs a fake fiancee to keep his deal on track and him out of the clutches of Clair Waters. Unexpectedly for Nick, fake turns too real and a relationship between Nick and Taylor starts to simmer. I gave this 3 stars, the story was good but I found I was looking for a little more. "I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it." I started reading this book not long after I received the advanced copy and couldn't put it down! I loved every minute of it! Taylor (real name Kaye) gets a job to be closer to her grandparents only to get put off about four weeks later. We learn later that this wasn't meant to be the case. You'll have to read the book to find out what happens..... After heading to see Nick (her ex-boss) to plead her case, Taylor ends up with another job - as Nick's fake fiancée for the summer. Despite the engagement being fake, the attraction between Nick and Taylor becomes very real. The relationship is put to the test when Nick's ex Claire comes back on the scene. After a few hiccups here and there, Nick and Taylor find that they have in fact, fallen in love, with the fake engagement becoming real followed by a very real marriage. If you're after an easy summer read, then this book is definitely for you! Enjoy!

I'm a huge fan of Cindy's books and am always excited to read the next one! Tempted by Taylor is another beautifully written, sweet and sincere story of Nick and Taylor.
Nick and Taylor met when she was accidentally laid off (although you don't know it was a mistake until later in the story!). Nick is the CEO and he needs Taylor to act as his fake fiance to help seal a business deal. The deal just happens to be with his ex-girlfriends father and Taylor needs a job to be able to pay off her late fathers debts. After some reservations Taylor agrees to be Nick's fake fiancee and it's clear that there is nothing fake about their burgeoning relationship.
Nick and Taylor develop feelings for each other and learn what's really important. I think this is a fabulous summer read and I am looking forward to the what's next.

As a fan of Cindy Kirk's Good Hope series, I did not believe I would love another series like that one. I was wrong. Tempted by Taylor: A Seriously Sweet Romance, was everything that I hope for in a novel. Well written, clean, and family oriented, it can be shared by both mother and daughter.
Nick and Taylor met when she was accidentally laid off. Nick is the CEO and needs Taylor to act as his fake fiance to help seal a business deal with his ex-girlfriends father and Taylor could use the money to pay off her late fathers debts. Along the way, Nick and Taylor develop feelings for each other and learn to re-evaluate their priorities.
It is a great summer read and I am looking forward to the rest of the series.

I read both series of Cindy and I love them, read them multiple times if am honest. From the start of this book I loved Nick and Taylor story. I hated Claire from the get go.
I was hoping that there be drama but it would be resolved and give me an ending I wanted. This book did that, it wasn’t over the top dramatic, it was a quick loving read and got to love nana and grandad.
I think I of liked to know what happened to Claire and if she got what she deserved and if Nick ever told Taylor about what happened in Park. I loved to know about Taylor job too. Even with these two things I of liked to know I still think the book deserve a 5 star!
I really hope Erik get a story as Nick best friend. He a funny character and it means we get more of Nick and Taylor.
This book is more than a love story – it is a lesson about what is really important in life – in some ways, a Scrooge or Grinch story. I like a story that makes my heart smile, and this one did. Further, while there were some detours and conflicts along the way, there was nothing that made my heart HURT. I don’t like books that cause me too much distress on the way to a happy ending – I read because I want to escape the bad in my own life, not just exchange my pain for someone else’s This was a sweet story, an enjoyable read. It was also a gentle lesson in what is really important in life, as exemplified by the saying, “If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you always got.” That is so simple, so true, and so profound – all at once. I love it! I’m glad I had the opportunity to read this story before everyone else in exchange for an honest review.
Tempted by Taylor was an interesting book and seemed a little different from the others that I have read by Cindy Kirk. It had more of a focus on God and family than some of her others. I truly enjoyed the book and highly recommend it.
Taylor was a very independent woman and confident in herself and her self worth. She knew that the likes of Claire were not worth her time, but that she needed to watch out for her.
Nick is a strong businessman that knows how to get what he wants until Taylor throws his world into the upheaval he didn't know he needed. His kindness that he showed to people was amazing and a hidden gem.
Their love was a gradual build that they didn't expect. While there was an attraction from the start, love was sneaky.
I received an advanced readers copy for a voluntary review of the book.
Taylor and Nick are a very interesting couple. Shortly I not only loved these two but also the side characters won my heart, especially witty funny Erick. {I would love to read his story}. The grandparents are so awesome I want to hug them. The overall story may sound simple but its got a few twists, insights and turns that would not let me put it down. I found myself days after reading this book reflecting on themes woven into the storyline that kept me intrigued enough I had to re-read it. Warm, insightful and romantic this book made a wonderful gift to myself with a second read on mothers day. This is a very sweet fake fiancé romance. When Taylor Rollins is given a pink slip (yes, a literal pink slip), she barges into Nick Lanagan’s office and demands that he give her job back. Nick is in a bit of a pickle. He is trying to finalize a business deal with Henry, who would like to have Nick get back together with his daughter, Claire. Nick wants nothing to do Claire, so he said that he was engaged. Of course, in walks Taylor and Nick see the answer to his problems. I liked both Nick and Taylor, and liked how their relationship unfolded. This is a clean romance that makes many references to faith. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.
Tempted by Taylor is the beginning of a new series for those who enjoy a sweet, clean, faith-based story. This is a story of a fake engagement to thwart the advances of a former lover. Nick is a workaholic who avoids relationships but when a former lover can destroy a merger he is working on, he hires Taylor to be his fake fiancé. Taylor has been mistakenly fired from her dream job and is now desperate for work to pay off her deceased father's secret gambling debts. As the two grow closer, fighting their feelings is threatening to destroy their budding relationship. This is a great beginning to a new series that has a wonderful storyline and strong, lovable characters.
I received this advanced reader copy from the publisher but all thoughts and feelings are my own.
A sweet story of mending a broken family history and moving on in a business deal fraught with personal interference, in an enemies-to-lovers story that starts out with tons of conflict and chemistry between two people at odds. What begins as an insurmountable dispute quickly turns into a fake engagement meant to give both Taylor and Nick a reprieve from their independent troubles. As they get to know each other to better pull off their ruse, they finally realize that this fake engagement could lead to a true love and marriage. If only they can learn to trust each other. As usual Kirk pulls the reader along as she weaves a fun and satisfying story.
I was given an arc of this book in order to give a fair and honest review.
Nick Lanagan is the CEO of a software company. He suddenly has the need for a fiancé, fake of course! When Taylor bursts into his office to ask for her job back (she was just let go), he decides she’s perfect for the role. Taylor needs money & accepts. Neither of them realize what they’ve just set in motion & what the future is going to bring to them.
Ms. Kirk has written another excellent story. The characters are well developed & this was an original take on the plot. This was a sweet, clean romance. Taylor has her morals & doesn’t compromise them. Nick accepts her decree of no sex before marriage but thinks she’ll change her mind. There are some surprises that come out during the story that they have to work their way through before they can declare their happily ever after.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it. I really wanted to love this book, as I do almost everything Ms. Kirk writes, but immediately from the start I knew it was going to be disappointingly predictable. It barely held my interest because there was really nothing based in reality about this story and nothing to make you feel it could veer from the expected. Normally even if I know how a book will end, there are many other characters intertwined that will make it interesting, but in this case the only other "main" character, Claire, was completely annoying. I do love Ms. Kirk as an author, but this one just didn't hit it out of the park for me, like her Good Hope series.
I received an advance reader copy of this book from the publisher and I am voluntarily reviewing it. This was a sweet story a little bit of up and a little bit of down Taylor Who's new to the company thinks things are going well at her job, but she gets a pink slip and wants to find out why. When her marches into the owner of the company office wanting to know why shes being terminated he masterminds an iui dea that will help both Taylor and himself. Little did they know that over time they would get to know each other, while fighting the attraction they eventually become close and become involved. I love that in the story that she has such a close relationship with her parents and even her religion great story for all.
When Taylor gets a pink slip her boss Nick offers her a new job as his temporary fiancée. She wants to refuse but really needs the money. Nick needs to close an important business deal while avoiding his ex-girlfriend, Claire. She’s the daughter of the man who owns the company Nick wants to buy. And she will stop at nothing to break Taylor and Nick up. They didn’t count on falling in love. What happens when fantasy starts feeling like reality? I liked how complex the characters and their emotions are. They had to do some soul searching to make their relationship work and be willing to work on their shortcomings. I laughed, I cried and everything in-between! I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.
I really sympathized with Taylor and getting a pink slip. I believe the more personal touch and explanation should always happen when letting someone go and that would have prevented the misunderstanding.
It was great to see Nick's life change as he realized there was more to life than work. Something I am continually working on so I have a better balanced life. Connecting with people and building relationships have a more lasting impact that what you do at work. You also aren't always appreciated at work for the sacrifices you make. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.
What a Sweet Summer Read - This was a good, fast paced story wrapped up with a Happily Ever After! I knew how it was going to end from the very beginning but I didn't mind - I enjoyed how this was a clean read and the way it focused on Faith and Family! I am impressed at how much the author was able to fit into those short pages, although there was room for expansion and a longer story - nothing was missed! The characters were relatable, including the secondary ones. I'm looking forward to the next quick read in this series!

Taylor Rollins is dismayed. After being hired at a great company weeks ago, she’s given a pink slip and told to clear out her desk. Angry and desperate, she goes to the CEO’s office to ask for help. Nick Lanagan III needs a fiancé and fast. When Taylor walks in, he offers her $2000 a month for the job. But what happens when feelings get in the way? I’m usually not a fan of the fake fiancé romances, but this one was different. The characters were loveable and genuine. The plot was exciting enough to keep my interests. And, I’m a sucker for a happy ending. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.
I really enjoyed this book! An unexpected pink slip for Taylor leads to a fake fiance rouse with her former boss, Nick. While Taylor and Nick navigate the public & private implications of their fake relationship with the always present wit and guidance of Taylor's grandparents and Nick's best friend. I loved the simplicity of Nick and Taylor's story, but I felt like I could have read 10 more chapters. Cindy Kirk has a way of writing that just immediately connects you with her characters and you don't want their stories to end!
I received an advance copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily reviewing.
I received an ARC from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.
Tempted by Taylor is a seriously sweet story of how business owner Nick finds himself needing a fake fiance and ends up hiring Taylor, an employee his company accidentally fires. Nick ultimately finds out that there was a name mix-up and Taylor should have never lost her job but still keeps her under his wing as a fake fiance. Not everyone is happy about the relationship and of course the drama comes when the barracudas come out the water and try to destroy Nick and Taylor's relationship. The chemistry between the two main characters was pretty Fierce from the start and you can predict what will happen in the end. Nick gives Taylor an amazing happily ever after that is as seriously sweet as the title says.
I received my ARC copy of this book from the publisher and am reading it voluntarily. Taylor a hard working let go from her job (mistakenly) needs to work. Nick, the boss, needs to hire someone to play his fiance for the summer. When she confronts him about her job loss, he offers her his financial proposal. As the timing was just right...she accepts. A romantic read where Taylor sticks to who she is while falling for Nick. Nick attempts to remain the same person but he begins to evolve from the "corporate guy" to a guy with a soft side and family side and falls for Taylor. A very sweet romantic read - well worth adding to your summer reading list!
