People who complicate my life earn the business end of my hook. Funny how that never seems to stop them.
Think I'm exaggerating? I stand accused of colluding with Fomorian raiders who are abducting young mermaids. And one of the Lost Boys I rescued from Neverland is being terrorized by a Faerie nightmare... A dark menace connects the two things. With the help of my pixie companion, I must solve the mystery while evading the interference of my meddlesome ex-lover.
He's sinfully distracting, but the fun must wait. All those delectable sirens need rescuing.
CURATOR'S NOTE (The Kickass Heroines Bundle) «Villains have always fascinated me. I especially love stories with a well-crafted antagonist that elevates the conflict to the next level. I love the story of Peter Pan, but Captain Hook had always come across as a bad guy without clear motivations. What fueled the captain's infamous obsession with capturing Lost Boys and defeating Peter Pan? I asked myself that question, then I wrote Dead to Rights. Along the way I learned answers that raised even more questions. Most importantly, I discovered that Captain Jayden Hook is the heroine of her own series which continues in Dead Wrong.» – Melissa Snark

I enjoyed reading about how Hook is trying her best to help others even if they do not want nor understand what is happening . In this story we read about how caring she really is and how she will keep doing what she feels she needs to , to stop Pan ! Buzz cracks me up and I loved the way Hook and Buzz took care of Christopher !! I cannot say that I was glad she spared Phineas but do understand why . Now as to Rackham and the way John took care of her I honestly did not think that he would have stayed by her and helped her get better . For some reason I expected him to just hire and walk away well written ! I swear I could so put myself in her place over Revenge and the crew ! This one will pull all emotions from you ! So if you enjoy reading sequels then grab the first one Dead to Rights and then Dead Wrong and get ready to be blown away ! Well written and recommended . I want to thank the author for the gift of this book I enjoyed it !
3.5/5 stars: I really enjoyed this book, I love the interactions between Rackham and Hook, and I love Hook's relationship with Buzz. I wish Starkey would come back though...

A skewed look at Hook and Neverland! Or maybe it’s the other version of Peter Pan’s world that is askew. Read on, and decide for yourself! If you’re looking for action packed adventure, a unique view of Neverland and its denizens, this is the place to be. The star of the show, Captain Hook, is not as you might expect; her companions and her lovers are prizes in their own right. The author’s stories never disappoint. Word pictures are formed, creating a clear visual of the scene. The battles are epic. The outcome, thrilling. This can be enjoyed as a stand alone, but full pleasure comes with reading “Hook: Dead to Rights” first.
Dead Wrong picks up in the middle of a sea battle. Hook and her ship Revenge are limping home. Yes, I said her. Although this is set in Neverland, and Captain Hook is based on the Captain Hook from Peter Pan, in this series Hook is a she. And she's half-mermaid, and doesn't age.
Most of the book takes place in dry dock, but plenty of adventures ensue.
This book is second in a series, but I think it could stand on its own. Ms. Snark has enhanced the Neverland we already know by making Hook the protagonist, and making her female. This is a good quick read, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I honestly still try to understand the purpose of the book, the direction of the story… In the first one it made sense: Peter Pan and Wendy, then it ended on a tragedy that left open the possibility of another confrontation, but in this one, I just don’t get the point. The boat is damage, Hook as a conflict with one, help another, then a fight on boats at the end, all that for what? It’s like a simple long description of a couple of months without any kind of really goal. I’ll see if the end of the story in book 3 has an answer for me.
I enjoyed this book; more than the first one (even though I rated them the same - wish we could give half stars).
The action was fun and interesting. Some of the characters were able to develop a bit; although mainly just Hook. Overall the book felt like five or six story ideas were packed into one book and none of them fully developed.
At the end of the day; if there were another book in the series I would read it; I will not be crushed if it ends here.

Where the first book felt like a retelling of Peter Pan from an all new and adjusted point of view, this book feels like the beginning of a whole new world and story. I absolutely loved this story that was full of action, adventure and new aspects to Hook. She’s a pirate but a woman with a heart that she tries to hide, and often fails. I can’t wait to see what new adventures are in store for my new favourite pirate.
We get to see Hook use her siren song early in this book. It's nice to see she uses it when in need of help. Hook is captain of her ship and she has to act the part, though Hook does care even if she appears hard in the face of her crew. She only wants the best for her crew and to keep them safe.
Back into the world of Neverland. After being accused of collusion in the abduction of mermaids, she must now on go on an adventure to prove her innocence and save the mermaids. The plot and story line always keep you involved and is easy to follow. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
An immortal, a pixie, mermaids and an enchanted goat. An old flame ignites. Again, Melissa has outdone herself. Th plot and timeline follow well, dialog is just right. Captain Hook as you never would have imagined her. Yes, I said HER. . .
This story had me hooked from the very beginning. Hook is a fascinating character who has many facets and hides most of them. This story is action packed and gives an unexpected view of Neverland and the characters we love (or hate). I love Buzz and I can't wait to see what adventures lie ahead.
This is the second book of Hook. I enjoyed the story but felt a little more could have been explained as to Hook's origins. Still I am looking forward to the next one.
This was a great book. The pacing was just right and there was enough action. I really enjoyed being in Captain Hook's head. She is a mass of contradictions but is definitely someone to root for. Will definitely get the next book.
This was a good middle book but not as exciting as her encounter with Peter Pan. Hopefully the last book brings everything together for a great conclusion. This book dived a little deeper into the friendships and character of Hook.
Mesmerizing read! The character of Hook is brilliant in this version of the classic tale of the one handed pirate. A must read for anyone and everyone who loves adventure and adversity!
Book Review: Hook: Dead Wrong (Captain Hook Book 2) Author: Melissa Snark My Rating: 5 Stars Reviewed by: Tammy Payne- Book Nook Nuts
REVIEW This is book two in the Captain Hook series and oh my goodness it blew me away. We get so much action. Hook has her hands full that is for sure. Will she finally lose her head? Well grab the book and find out. I have to say I enjoyed book two a heck of a lot.
An excellent sequel to Hook: Dead to Rights! Definitely fleshed out more of the world the characters live in. The story was interesting and well told! A very enjoyable journey!
