A mysterious abandoned baby. A lonely, troubled nurse. What will she risk to save him?

Grace Ward's sterile existence is thrown into chaos when a baby is abandoned in her ER. From the moment an unknown couple thrusts the unconscious infant into Grace's arms, her life will never be the same.

The baby's identity is shrouded in secrecy. Grace names him Johnny, and even with an experienced staff treating him, his life hangs in the balance. As Grace grows more attached to him, major events threaten their bond and his life. A deadly infection sweeps through the hospital, Johnny's mysterious origins come to light, and Grace's personal life grows increasingly complex. When Johnny's prognosis creates an ideological chasm that leaves the hospital staff on opposing sides, Grace refuses to bow to the mounting pressure that could destroy her career and even her life. Her vow to protect Johnny at all costs is the beginning of a journey to heal the scars of her past and create the safe and loving future they both deserve.

Suspenseful

Although so much happened in this book, I had to suspend belief a few times. Many issues were dealt with.

A deeply touching story of a woman's boundless love for a helpless baby. Four smiling stars!

This book surprised me! The first half is a rather slow story about a 40-year-old nurse who still suffers from the trauma of an abusive childhood and early marriage. So many books have similar themes these days, and I thought, "Here we go again." But Grace's devotion to Johnny, an abandoned and comatose baby in the hospital, kept me interested enough to keep reading. I'm so glad I did! The second half grabbed my full attention as Grace fights many battles to keep that precious baby alive and to finally bring him home as his adoptive mother. I so admired her strength and boundless love through every challenge.

I won't spoil this with a plot summary, but there are some sub-plots involving criminal activities and conspiracies that make things even more interesting. The book is well-written and clean, with no sex scenes or vulgar language, so it is appropriate for teenage readers as well as adults.

Besides the slow start, I didn't care for the way Grace quickly falls in love with Jay, a famous neurosurgeon who is really a jerk and a criminal, and then she just as quickly falls in love with Ryan, a "guardian angel" who mysteriously stops her from committing suicide. He is just too good to be true, in my opinion. But they go on to live happily ever after, and the ending is perfect. Just perfect. Smiles are guaranteed!

This was a wonderful book about a very dedicated nurse.
Grace was in the emergency room the night a couple brought a comatose baby in and left him without telling anyone who he was or where he came from. Grace fell in love with this baby, she called Johnnie, and fought for him throughout this book. Not only did she fight for Johnnie's life, but she fought the doctors that wanted to take him off life support.
This was a wonderful book. I cried and I laughed while reading this book. There was a very surprised ending for this book. One I did not expect.
Eleanor Chase wrote an amazing book and I am so glad that I read it. One thing for certain is that Johnnie belonged in the "Arms of Grace."

This book started really slowly, and I ended up putting it down for over a month, debating if I was invested enough to finish it. I'm really glad I did. It's a slow warm-up for sure, but once it gets moving, it keeps a flow that keeps the reader invested. I felt like the last couple chapters were a bit too rushed; I actually wondered if there was a second part to finish the story, but then the ending came together. I would have loved to have seen it a bit longer in order to further develop the final portion of the story.

Overall, it's a great story about the ways love can heal, and the lengths to which we can push and be pushed for love. It's especially a beautiful story of the love of a mother for her child, and a reminder that biology doesn't determine family.

happiness, sadness, joy!

You will be absolutely addicted to this book! The best thing is, it is the first book. You will immediately start reading the second book. Happiness, sadness, suspense, joy, and much more! Johnny, a baby who is brought to an emergency room during hurricane! If that doesn’t peek your interest, I don’t know what well. Johnny is at the heart of it all! There will be many times during the book when you think it is over, you will be wrong. There are many ups and downs, twists and turns! From page one, there will be one main question that remains in your mind, as you continue to read! There is backstabbing, betrayal, love, tears of joy and sorrow! Once again, this is a definite must read!

Tear jerker

This was my first book I have read by Ms. Chance, it's really hard not to get emotional while reading. I was so caught up in the emotional Rollercoaster, I was happy, sad, and angry. I enjoyed the book. I normally don't read the emotional books but the description drew me in; I'm glad I read this book I can't wait to purchase the next book in the series.

All of the characters tied in well together with the story ,without each one of the characters it would feel like missing a piece of the puzzle that makes the book as it is. I highly recommend this book series. You will need a box of tissues.

This was the most poorly written, poorly edited book I have read in a long time. Thankfully it was free on Kindle! The typos were bad enough-but the story had so many inconsistencies it was ridiculous! It starts with a hurricane, then moves on to a mysterious infection that overwhelms the hospital and kills half its victims-then is never mentioned again! A nurse who gets transferred to a research hospital, but then does not seem to have a job there. An FBI agent who claims to suspect a child was kidnapped, but never followed up, and then conveniently dies? It was the most ridiculous book I’ve ever read and cannot believe it was published. Don’t waste your time.

Arms of Grace is a moving story about a woman named Grace who falls in love with a discarded baby at her hospital. Lovingly named Johnny by her and the staff, Grace will move mountains to see him wake up out of his coma. Arms of Grace is filled with many trials, from Grace trying to adopt Johnny, to interference from the hospital administration and the state. Grace does a good job fighting for what is right for Johnny with the help of her friends, and in the process, Grace has found out a lot of things by herself. This book is moving and poignant, a good read.

Arms of Grace by Eleanor Chance

One of the best books I've ever read about a nurse named Grace who falls in love with a little boy who has no one and the lengths she's willing to go through to save him. This is a roller coaster ride involving many lives and many trials and tribulations for all the people involved but especially Grace. Love is a powerful thing when you find the right people to help you see it's real. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys a great story about what love truly means. Thanks,Eleanor Chance

He's All She Ever Wanted

Grace's life was nothing like she had ever planned. Hers was a life of no love, brutality, no friends and hard work...but she DID work hard and she was GREAT at her job. Then what she had always wanted fell right into her lap, only to be snatched away again. Her life changed when she let people into her life to be friends, coworkers and let them teach her how to trust and love again. This is a very powerful book. I could hardly put it down.

Complex and enticing read!

Story was intricately woven entrapping my interest. From the chaos of her early life she rose like a Phoenix and saved Johnny an orphan who initially appeared brain dead. This book has it all! Tragedy, redemption, love and after you think you can’t stand another obstacle, the heroine gets her HEA.

As a retired nurse, I always enjoy medical novels. This book was particularly interesting to read since it involved the love of a handicapped baby. The nurse caring for him, along with the friends who became her helpers, made this book so true to life. I had a hard time putting it down and finished it in less than a day.

This was a pleasant story but with some aspects that I wasn't happy with. It was quite slow, there was a lot of "lecturing", and I found the main character, Grace, to be totally out of control of her emotions most of the time - not necessarily appropriately to the part of the story.

As much as if I considered adoption, it was hard knowing kidnapping played a part in the story
