It’s time to go back to school . . . and these randy college boys can’t wait to return. There’s hot action happening in dorms, on campus, and any place that fuels their young passion.
Sean Fisher, editor of Dorm Porn, obviously had a good time in college.
Erastes is a writer of gay historical fiction, who lives in Norfolk, UK.\r \r Her first book "Standish" is a gay Regency romance, following the typical themes of a Regency, but also not shying away from the climate of the times regarding homosexuality. All in all there were only two stories here that I actually liked. Some others had potential, but that wasn't used or was ruined and the rest were annoying or generic.
The first short story was kind of average in its built-up, but it did break the mold in terms of sex scenes by not going all the way, so I can give the author credit where credit is due. This second story was similar to the first one in that it is at one time pretty typical (here the old "both want each other but no one does the first move") but it does break the mold in that the much more muscular (albeit also less experienced) guy is the bottom. The wrestling episode was not particularly original or broke the mold, but it was exciting and well executed. The str8togay story was a kind of average "I am in love with my straight best friend, who suddenly wants me" story. The only thing standing out was that the protagonist is an albino. However I have no idea why the author gave him a haunted (literally) family background except for some explanation for the guy being sort of an outcast in his childhood. Afterwards it was only: Boy was this annoying. If the protagonist likes men who are way older than him, good for him, but he doesn't need to defend it all the time. Luckily, after a lot of forgettable run of the mill stories (I cannot remember a single one) I got a decent one again. The massage thing and curious "straight" guy is not original or particularly creative but it was well executed and once again broke the typical mold. With the next one I already got annoyed how the character whined about being 35 (which I would not even whine about in my depressive episodes) and then all there was, was glory hole action and that is not my thing. Next story: it's not as if having a library as a cruising area is uncreative, but they are giving blowjobs in a pretty quiet place and apparently in a section of the library that has several other people in it. You would need a bit more explaining and organization to make this scenario work. At least have some lookouts. Then, the following protagonist says his mother made him pick Asian-American studies because she has a bad conscience for divorcing his father. Does that mean he is a Eurasian? Or mixed African-East Asian or anything? Sure it's a dumb reason to pick up such studies, however if that is a hint maybe the story should just say it. That question was never answered and if it should ever turn out that the protagonist is Eurasian than this might even get worse. Bad enough that he refers to the guys in the "Asian" porn magazines as looking like him, but if he is supposed to be Eurasian this equalizing the two categories is possibly racist. And he is already thin. And considered that he is a wrestler you easily would have had a scenario to break the stereotypical mold. But sadly, another opportunity wasted. The last story about a spontaneous and anonymous sexual encounter in the dark of the dorm's laundry room was... surprisingly underwhelming.
