Hello fellow readers, my name is Amanda. I’m a multi-genre author, and reader, living in Maryland with my 11-year-old Yorkie Raven. When I’m not writing, I’m a homebody who likes to go out on small adventures. Traveling to new places and seeing new things lets me bring some realism to the experiences of my characters.

I published my first novel in July 2019, but writing has always been a creative outlet for me. I love creating different characters and then throwing them into situations and seeing how they react. Doing this resulted in my paranormal series full of wolf shifters, vampires, and witches, my currently in progress contemporary series about first responders, random short stories, and even a horror movie script when I was in 8th Grade, and I don’t even like horror movies! When I sit down to write, I have a general idea of what’s going to happen but it’s as much a surprise to me as it is to you where the road will take them, and it’s always a roller coaster of emotions.

I'm currently not speaking to Amanda because this book had me hooked, so hooked, and even knowing it would end on a cliff I can't handle it. I NEED TO KNOW RIGHT NOW--- yes shouty capitals were needed to for this.

Aria is a total BAMF and the way Hunter looks at her, whoa boy I can totally see those glowing eyes right now.

Plus my geeky mythology loving heart sang while reading this. The world building in this is simple and so damn good you can see it being real life.

Give me more and give me more now.

Virginity lost!!!

Another author virginity broken and lost.
This book is so well written. The characters are real. You are drawn into their lives. You literally fall for them. The story reels you in like a well hooked fishing line.
Bennett(benny boy) is my new best friend. A loveable, loyal roguish character. Hunter and Knox, sexy, strong, and ready for this cougar. Declan, strong, sensitive, loving. Zayne sweet and loyal. That’s without the girls, Aria,Abby, Kat, Grace and Ceria.
There’s twists and turns, love and family, a whole host of other supporting characters.
Definitely the best paranormal book I’ve read in a while. I downloaded it today, and have finished it today which should tell you a lot. I can’t wait for the second book in this trilogy.
Amanda Carol take a bow me ducks. A job bloody well done. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

This book! These characters! This story! I loved every second of it. I was hooked from the prologue and couldn't stop reading until it was done. Seriously, I can't say enough good things about this book. Amanda has done an amazing job world-building and making you feel like the impossible might just be possible after all. The chemistry between Aria and Hunter is incredible! You can really feel it from the second they meet. Oh, and I can't leave Bennett out. He steals pretty much every scene he's in, but in the best possible way. He's there for support, encouragement, and a little comic relief when it's needed most. This was an incredible debut and I need book two NOW!

I was lucky enough to get an early ARC of this book and I must say it blew my mind.
The way Amanda created this new world has you yearning for more.

The book starts with our girl Aria, a sassy little thing she is but she's also a little lost, a little sad and a whole lotta angry. She and her twin brother are going through America hunting down vampires.
It's all fine and dandy until their adventure brings them to NOLA and with that, they meet Hunter the Beta of the pack that protects the city.

Hunter takes a liking to Aria, and she to him but they both got so much going on its hard to find time to explore those feelings. But when they do. That first kiss... BOOM.
_For one las time I held him close. (5)

This is a trilogy so the ending has you yearning for more ASAP.
Can't wait for the next one ♥

This was a surprise hit for me as I expected a sweet shifter story with a bit of heat. The story is so much more then that though; I found myself loving the way the story came together, the characters and the mix of supernatural lore that was involved.

The story is very character driven with humor and steam. I loved the relationship the twins have; they annoy each other yet will protect each other to the very end. I was expecting shifters but the fact that vampires were also in this story was like a fun added bonus.

This is book one of three stores so there is a lot of world building going on but the story is not sacrificed because of this. I am really interested in reading the other books. I need more Aria and Hunter, I have questions and I have expectations!! LOL. I will also need stories from the secondary characters, like Bennett… (hint, hint). I received an ARC and am leaving an honest review.

What an amazing read! I’m new to the PNR world but this book was absolutely amazing! It had everything I love in a book, action, humour, and of course sexy moments!

So many things happen that you do not expect! I was on my edge the whole book and just loving every moment!

This may be Amanda’s debut book but it doesn’t feel like it! It is so well written!

Give me more! Now!

This book was great. Aria and Declan were such strong characters who had a huge revelation dropped on them. Hunter and the rest of the pack were great characters as well. I could not put this book down. Action, fighting, and romance all in one. I can not wait to read the next book.

"You are the moon to my wolf" xxxxx
so for some reason I stopped reading Paranomal books a few years earlier, I had done the Twilight series and other PN novels but as mich as I enjoyed and loved them there was something missing.
Well Amanda Carol gave me what it was that was missing.
The adult romance the sexual tension the burning feelings one gets when reading the characters you are getting to know when you pick up a book.
I have always been the Vampire fan, sometimes the witch never usually the wolf shifter. But here i was getting heavily involved with what I thought was "mere mortals" with sometype of weird attributes they find themselves with after witnessing their parents being murdered by "a Vampire" of all things, and the last thing they remember from that crazy night was their Mother screaming at them to run, save themselves.
So here we are a few years later and Aria and Declan are still lost souls searching out and ending the existance of Vampires, and not having run onto and other type of Mythical Beings like themselves, they thought never existed until that fateful night.
Until they meet Hunter and Bennett.
Finally Aria nd Declan through Hunter and his Wolf Shifting Family and Witch Coven start to understand who they are and what they are part of when it comes to Vampire hunting and keeping themselves and otheres safe.
I loved how we see Aria and Declan start to embrace who they are and how they come to be, we see Aria slowly learning to trust otheres and deny herself from feeling, Until she meets a certain " as
blue as the Carribean Sea, black haired 6ft + Dude" who fills ot a Henley t-shirt as well as Thor himself.
Amanda bought me back into the Paranormal fold but now as an Adult reading Adult Paranormal Romantic, where men are Alpha's and swoon worthy and I can have demonic thoughts with out feeling Im reading my daughters books.
So now Im into this book in a big way the Charactors, the story, the Mythological History behind Vampires Demigods ( my new fave Folk) and Wolf changers that unfortunately arent naked when they shift back. Apparantly thats only in movies. Thank god we never see Jacob Black changing back in Twilight lol.
so looking forward to reading Rising Moon book 2 in The Awakened Trilogy released in December
thank you Amanda

You guys, I have a special place in my heart for a good Paranormal/Sci Fi Books. I have been reading a LOT of contemporary books recently so I felt like this was like coming home.
🌬
Now this book has just about everything in it
Witches
Shifters/Werewolves
Vampires
Gods/Goddesses
Slow Burn
Suspense
Laughter
Drama
Fighting
Betrayal
Plot Twists
☄️
This is Amanda’s debut book, like many new authors they are still working some things out, finding their groove, refining their skills. Amanda has an amazing start to her Author career. While I did find a few scenes a bit repetitive mostly with some of the dialogue, this book kept me interested and invested. I wanted, no NEEDED more. I can not wait to read what happens and watch Amanda continue to grow as an Author.
🧙🏼‍♀️
I loved the slow burn!!!!!!!! Ugh the lustful looks, little touches, and finding ways to be around each other.
🧛🏼‍♂️
What made this book even more amazing was the supporting cast. They each were unique and frankly, I want a story of them all!!!!!! They supported and gave more dimensions to our Main Characters. A good story has good main characters, but a great story has amazing main characters and supporting cast.
🧚🏼‍♀️
I honestly do not know what is going to happen next. I have a few ideas, but knowing how Amanda already gave us a plot twist, then really anything can happen.
🐺
If you love anything in the above list, even just one of them, then I suggest this book for you. It confirmed my love of Paranormal books. Especially Shifter/Werewolves.

Ahhh! I am rating this book a 5 star because it had me hooked from the beginning and I adore the author.

When I say “hooked from the beginning,” I swear it’s true! I needed to find out what in the world was so special about this twins! When the author brought up Gods and Goddesses, along with Vampires, Witches, and Werewolves, I was like....ummmmm Amanda, what are you doing here? But she pulled it off and all the magical creatures really go well together in this paranormal new adult romance!

Speaking of romance, the author does this really good job at not forcing random sex scenes at the reader. She elegantly normalizes this romance novel so that people who don’t often read romance (because of the numerous random cheesy sex scenes) will enjoy this. I’m not a prude, by any means. I like a good sexy time scene, but when it’s overused and doesn’t bring anything to the overall plot, I find it contrived (did I use that word right?)

Anyway, I loved the story, the characters, and the setting that this book brings to life. I do want to say that a couple technical things threw me off (i.e. using “quirks a brow” too many times in the end of the novel, or several instances of exposition that was unnecessary.) But other than that, this was a STRONG self-published novel! Loved it!

I can’t wait for Book 2 (Rising Moon) and I’m So So So proud of Amanda Carol for kicking ass with her debut novel. She’s only going to get better!

Shifters, vampires, Greek gods, witches, Demi-gods and who knows what still might appear... this is in exciting tale which wraps all of this together in a fun read.

Aria and her twin brother have been hunting vampires in hopes of someday locating the one which killed their parents. They've trained themselves and should never be underestimated. When their search leads them to New Orleans and a graveyard, they stumble across not only vampires which almost get the best of them, but shifters—creatures they suspected might exist but were never sure. This is only the first glimpse at a world richer than their wildest dreams. But dreams can easily turn into nightmares, and as secrets about Aria and her twin unfold, things grow increasingly dangerous as well.

At first, I thought this read might be a little cliche. Aria and her brother lose their parents to a vampire and are now out hunting them on the streets themselves. They discover that there's an entire magical world out there and are now, drawn in. But here's exactly where the story takes interesting twists and turns. Before I knew it, I was drawn in and couldn't put the book down.

There are more than a few characters in this book and each one carries an individual personality, hopes and destiny. I was a little confused to the entire details surrounding Aria's own best friend/mother but that slides past and the rest of the story takes hold. There's quite a bit of action, more than a couple of fight scenes, romance, secrets and mystery too. The toss of Greek gods into the mix added an entirely new dimension, which definitely opens up questions for the rest of the series.

The characters are easy to root for ,and the special bond between Aria and her brother is touching. The romance is quick and holds quite a bit of tension. The bad guys are dark, evil and keep their cards close. In other words, it's an entertaining read and promises to be an exciting series too.

I received a complimentary copy and enjoyed reading it more than I even thought I might. So, I'm leaving my honest thoughts.

This will be a spoiler free review. Thank you to the author for a copy of her book, in exchange for an honest review.

Amanda reached out to me, through a mutual friend, asking if I would be interested in reading her book. I agreed, otherwise, we wouldn’t be here right now. My expectations weren’t wildly high, but my friend told me that he loved them, so I expected I would as well. And guess what, I did!
Not shocking lol.

This book made my Supernatural (the show), Greek Mythology and paranormal loving heart so happy. If you liked Vampire Diaries, Supernatural or The Oringinals, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. It also gave me The Covenant Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout vibes. That’s one of my favorite series, so I’m not complaining. I inhaled this book and I’m definitely going to be finishing the series. It’s a bit cheesy, but I happen to love cheese. You get sucked in, and the next thing you know is, you’ve finished book 1 and need book 2.

I need to know what happens next. In fact, as soon as I’m done writing this review, I’m purchasing book 2. I need more Hunter, and definitely more Bennett.

I mean, vampires, wolf-shifters and witches? What more could I ask for?
Not much. Honestly. I’m quite content.
Seriously, though. This book filled a void I didn’t know was even empty.

I like Aria and Declan – their close bond that they have with each other. Their parent’s death bonds them, and they care deeply for each other. I love a close sibling bond in books. I also really liked how, despite being fiercely protective of each other, they still bicker and poke at each other in the way only siblings can. The, “only I can call my brother/or sister a dumbass, not you” kind of relationship – I have your back, it’s you and me against the world.
Ugh, that may actually be my favorite kind of non-romantic relationship.

I’ll get to Beta wolf Hunter in a second, but omfg I loved Bennett.
Comedic relief? Check.
All around good guy? Check.
Loyal? Check.
He had me actually ‘lol-ing” at some of his lines. He’s such a freaking cinnamon roll and I can’t get enough. I really hope he develops a really close friendship with Aria. I love their moments together. Even though the spot is filled by Declan, I think he’d appoint himself as an older brother figure in her life, and honestly, I’m here for it. He gives me major Cassian (from ACOTAR) vibes and I can’t ask for more. Other than, Amanda, please don’t do anything to harm him. I beg.

Now, Hunter. I mean, he’s the hot, swoony, 8-pack abs, love interest. He’s also a wolf, so he’s a tad possessive. He struggles with being second in command and has a difficult relationship with his father. I can’t say I didn’t like him lol. I’m also a sucker for a male character who is seemingly burdened with power he doesn’t want and struggles under the weight of expectations. He’s really cute with Aria, and I liked that he got along with Declan. Between the two of them, I’m surprised either of them have bottom lips left…if you like the “zeroing of gazes as the other pulls their bottom lip between their teeth”, look no further!

It was like someone turned the heat up every single time they were together.
I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next with the two of them. I think their relationship is a tad insta-lovey, but I’m here for it. I have a feeling it’s tied into who and what they are, so I’m not being too critical. And even though their relationship felt like it progressed quickly, Hunter was patient and kind, and took the time to do things right and at a speed Aria was comfortable with.

While I absolutely enjoyed this book, the characters, the world, I do have two smallish technical complaints – other than the insta-love that seems to be every character’s relationship.
I don’t think either of these things seriously detract from the story or ruins it in any way.
I wasn’t the biggest fan of the pacing. Days seemed to pass very quickly, or very slowly? I’m not entirely sure. There were a couple of instances where I thought Aria had been training all day, and then suddenly it would only be lunch time/midafternoon, or there would be hours left until dark. It’s kind of a minor thing, and didn’t pull me out of the story, but I did have to re-read 1-2 scenes to make sure I wasn’t missing anything.

There was also a lot of repetition – phrases, words and just background information. It doesn’t really add anything to the story, but I don’t think it hurts it.

Overall, this book was fantastic and engaging and pretty solid as a debut. I would say it’s an Upper YA/NA read. The world is inviting and vivid, the characters are full of personality, and the plot will continuously surprise you. There were quite a few moments where, plot twist! It has a fresh twist on the creation of Vampires and with a heaping dose of Greek Mythology, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed! If you’re a fan of The CW and its paranormal shows, then I really suggest checking this book out. Just sit down and read for pure enjoyment.

I know at the beginning of this post I said that I was going to buy book 2 after I finished writing this review, but somewhere in the middle of this, I paused and went on Amazon. I can’t wait to start Rising Moon! I need to know what happens next!

I'm just going to start by saying how damn amazing this book is! I am not a fan of paranormal romance, which is the reason I have waited so long. I didn't want to not like it, but don't worry I loved it! I'm actually kicking myself for not reading sooner.

The Awakened is jammed packed with paranormal, from witches, shifters, to werewolves, but the plot is amazing. I was so hooked on the story that the paranormal was second in my mind. Carol delivers a debut novel full of drama, laughter, suspense, betrayal, fighting, twist and turns.

Amanda Carol delivered an absolute phenomenal debut novel that had me hooked from start to finish. I devoured this book. I love, love, love Aria and Hunter! Their chemistry jumps off the page. Not only are Aria and Hunter amazing, the supporting characters definitely help make this book what it is. Bennett is everything! I'm not sure who I love more Bennett or Hunter, so I'm just keeping them both.

The Awakened is the fantastic 5 star debut novel from Amanda Carol. She gave us this well-written, enthralling plot, that left me needing more. She literally left me needing more since it ended with that cliffhanger. Yes, she left me hanging! The only good thing about waiting so long to read book one is I can go get book two right now! All the moonlit stars for Amanda Carol and The Awakened!

I've read paranormal before, and I don't hate it, but it's not usually my first choice. Amanda may have just changed my mind. I was pulled into this story from the beginning and literally could not stop reading until I finished. I downloaded the second book immediately and I can't wait to dive in.

Aria and Hunter were frustrating. They had some off the charts sexual chemistry, but neither one of them were acting on it. In their defense they had a lot going on, but I just wanted them to get it together. This was a sloooooowwww burn, but in the best way.

I loved the story line! I was hooked and begging my friends to give me some hints on what was going to happen. I can't wait to see where Amanda goes with book 2.

I'm so glad I took the chance and downloaded this book. I'll be stalking Amanda and her future releases from now on.

The Awakened

After witnessing their parents murdered by a vampire, twins Declan and Aria are forced to run to stay alive. They move from town to town hunting vampires hoping to one day find and kill the vampire that murdered their parents. Their lives are in danger as the same vampire hunts them and after three years of running they are taken in by a group of witches and wolf shifters. But things are not as safe as it appears and soon their lives and their new friends lives are in danger.

This is a sweet love story and ends on a cliffhanger.

Started out good but went down hill not longer after.

It started off really good, but as soon as they got to the compound, it fell apart...her personality anyway. Suddenly, she responds to things like a scared 16yr old girl, rather than a young woman who travels the country hunting vampires. She hardly says anything wrong to the alpha, but flips out when she finds out that's who he is. So, she's a bada** who kills evil vampires for a living, but is intimidated by an alpha who isn't even shown to be intimidating just because she tells him she won't allow him to wipe their memories? Huh? Not at all consistent with who she is before that.

Even the interaction between her and Hunter becomes childish. I really don't understand what happened to the writing a little less than a quarter of the way through but it's as if someone else took over.

However, the thing that got to me the most was when she talks about telling her best friend's mom she lost her virginity when she was a teenager. The girl's mom asks her what positions she did it in and if it felt good? Then proceeds to tell her what positions are best? I think the author is trying to portray her as the cool mom, but seriously? That isn't cool, it's sick...no adult should ask a child those questions and tell her which positions feel the best! Why does the author think this is okay? It's perverted and gross on her friend's mom's part, but it's treated as completely normal. Even though it happens before some of the other things I mentioned, THAT was the biggest contributor in my decision to stop reading. In fact, I would suggest the author take that part out entirely. It's not needed and gives a really bad impression of a woman somewhat important to the story. Plus, it's just gross.

I'm shocked and disappointed with the high rating this book has on Goodreads. Usually the over 4 star average doesn't steer me wrong, but in this instance it did. This book was very blah. The two main characters accept everything immediately and at face value. The book starts out with Aria and Declan's parents getting murdered by vampires. We then jump three years forward and Aria and Declan are travelling the country in a mission for revenge and have turned into vampire slayers. For this part I was pretty happy. She was a strong FMC, her brother was a good counterpart to her, and she had potential.

As soon as she met Hunter and Bennett in New Orleans is when the story started to fall apart for me. Aria did a 180 in terms of independence and character growth after that. She realizes that her BFF and her BFF's mom live at the same compound as Hunter and Bennett. I could have done without those characters completely. This is her best friend, who she has maintained communication with for the last three years, and NEVER in that time did the BFF tell her to come stay with her? Her mom was also best friend's with Aria's mom, knows that Aria and her brother have powers, and she also NEVER assisted her until they happened to appear at the compound? Shittiest friends ever, yet Aria is now a weak AF FMC and doesn't even question them.

There are a million examples of this sort of thing. It was as if Aria was two different characters, one at the beginning and a different one at the middle/end. I'd say this was a surface/fluff read, definitely not worth an almost 4.5 average rating.

More than Amazing!!!

This book was one of the best PNR I have ever read, I was hooked from the first page, I mean I found everything I love about PNR in this book. Bad a$$ heroine, sexy shifters, vampires, awesome witches and in top of all of that Demigods (I was in reading heaven). The story was well written, it keeps you in mystery and trying to guess what it’s going to happen next(Until the very last page 🤓) . I love the twins Aria and Declan are one of a kind( you have to read the book to now why 😉). Sexy Hunter 🔥🔥🔥I love his characters so much (loyal, caring, fighter). I honestly didn’t want this book to end. I love the relationship between all of the side characters, they played a very important part in this book and honestly I need more of them. 5stars Read!!!!!! Can’t wait for the second book to come out !!! Great job in this amazing book Amanda Carol ❤️!!!!

Debut novel by Amanda Carol.
Now paranormal romance is one of my favourite genres and Amanda knocked this out of the park!
It is fast paced, exciting and well written.
From the very first page you are sucked in and even after I turned the last page it was still with me.
Every single character is well developed and relatable. Even the side characters are hilarious, Bennett is my favourite funny and hot *swoon*

Be warned it ends on a cliffhanger! I can not wait for the next book!

Amanda is certainly an author you need to read! She has definitely got a stalker...I mean follower..Definitely follower, in me for life!

Well done Amanda this is an amazing first book I for one am so excited to see what your brilliant mind conjures up!

I liked it. I'll be honest that I wasn't too sure I would because I wasn't completely pulled in by the prologue, but it was good and well worth it. The characters are still developing, even at the end of the book, but since it's a trilogy, I wouldn't expect anything more. The dynamics are pretty good as well, I've decided my favorite character is Bennett and I hope to read more about him as the series continues, I just like his attitude.

The romance is building in multiple directions and I like that. It's not just 1 set of people, it's the group, growing and learning, and yes, I'd even say coming of age or more like coming into their own. I'd let my kids read this (13+) and I think they'd enjoy it.

I was offered a copy of The Awakened in exchange for an honest review
I have so much to say about this book! I devoured it in one day. When I heard werewolves and New Orleans, I knew I had to read this book and I am so glad I did. It was very fast paced and different than anything else I’ve read. I really loved the atmosphere of the compound and I really liked all of the characters. It was nice to read a romance book that didn’t gave a bossy over protective and controlling love interest. The respect that the two characters have for each other was great. I also liked the slow burn and all the different magic. And there’s a UNICORN named Sparkles! And the cliffhanger ending!! I NEED BOOK 2!!!!

I loved this first book in a new paranormal fantasy series. There is a lot of world-building as is to be expected, but also great descriptive narratives to bring us into that world. There is danger, intrigue, humour, and romance all wrapped in a fantastic debut novel. It is also fun to listen to the twins bickering as all siblings do, yet know that they will protect each other to the end.

I hope that the next book in this series will be released soon.

I really enjoyed reading this book although it does end with a "to be continued". Aria and Declan are intriguing characters, vampire hunters who end up in a werewolf compound where they encounter old friends, make new friends, discover love and romance and find out astonishing revelations about their heritage. Great storytelling! Can't wait for the next book!
