For Joshua, it was the very definition of serendipity. What he learned in the hills of his family's mountainside home shaped him in a variety of ways. Joshua Michael Johnson writes creative nonfiction and fiction. He lives in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and teaches composition at the University of Southern Mississippi. His work has been published in SNReview, Static Movement and he was awarded the Ken Smith Award for Creative Nonfiction in 2008 and 2009 by the Meacham Writers’ Workshop.
