Book two of the ACBL's tested and proved method to learn bridge or update your game. Lessons making a plan, developing tricks, eliminating losers, watching out for entries, watching out for opponents, managing the trump suit, and putting it together.
So far it's been wonderful to work through a book that is very much like the classes that I've taken. It's a great resource and the exercises at the end are thorough and there are 10-12 of them per chapter. It's unfortunate but beginning players do have to memorize quite a bit to get playing but eventually more knowledge and experience causes strategy to become more prominent and that's when beginners turn into intermediates and beyond. This book will help you think like a bridge player.
Quite a good instructional book on the techniques used to make a contract in bridge. Grants method of summarizing previous material and quizzing the best play each chapter is very helpful.
