This book would be good as a read aloud and introduction to measuremeant unit. I would start by asking the kids what are different thing that they can think of that we can measure. Afterwards I would read the book which gives a quick overview of different types of things we can measure. One that was surprising to me was noise. Their is a cute paper airplane contest activity at the end of the book. I think that creating the paper airplanes would be a good excercise in order and following instructions and then allowing the kids to measure how far their airplane went would be a fun activity and good practice with measurement once we were further along in the unit.
